One Word. Yikes.
Following a year of intense rise and then nearly complete destruction of FFR, I have worked tirelessly for many months to re-wire and re-structure FFR so that it could once again promote rhythm gaming. This is without a doubt a work in progress but I am re-launching FFR with the full intent of cutting out the corporate bullsh*t, righting wrongs and helping to preserve the community that was our family for many years. It’s been a crazy 1 1/2 years for sure.
There is still an incredible amount of work to be done and we are aware so many pages still need rewiring but we will get to those as they are found. Currently multiplayer is still being rewritten to work in the new system along with the simfiles section. Most profiles should work but going to your own profile may present a problem. If you find any broken pages, feel free to respond here to this news story and post them.
I will no doubt post more on the history, what I have been up to and what we have planned over the coming week. I owe this to all of you. This isn’t a test.

All I have to say is that your are truly dedicated to this site. Im sure after a year of being down most would just call it quits but you are still hanging in here and making your attempt to bring the site back. Give you mad props for that. Hope to see everything get back as much as possible. =]

I was just wondering what are you going to do about all the people that had subscriptions? I know quite a few of us had been paid up for a good amount of time when the site went down. I think I was paid up for about 5 months at the time.

I posted on Synth’s forum profile 2-3 hours ago and I’ll say it here too: I’m glad Synth is dropping the corporate attitude and is going back to making it a hobby site. I was slightly upset about the site going down, but the fact that you’re willing to give up the corporate deals and other general aspects of a business to keep the community alive is amazing, and people should commend you for that. Of course, there is much to be discussed, but that comes in the future as things are being brought back.

I just want to give a very heartfelt thank you. I have been with this site for many many years now and I have to admit: in my own selfishness, I was crushed to see that the site had gone down, despite all the pain it had caused you. I have checked the site at least once a week for the past year or so that it has been down, and today…expecting only to feed my own compulsions of checking the site, and instead coming to the same page that I’ve known and loved for those many years — I must admit, it felt great.

o one more thing! good luck for the user profile restoring i know there over 1 million member! wen the FFR was just growing at 2008-2009 then boom coding went wrong shut down FFR almost a yr! but still we can comment on a few things an play FFR the game thats all it matter to the member right now because ppl ur profiles gonna be awhile for it to go back up to normal maybe close to December maybe cant tell because that’s alot of profile to recode an fix! lol but anyways enjoy the FFr the games!

This is going to be so awesome. Thanks so much for not giving up on FFR. I was so heart broken when the site went down. I started to play the FFR mirror thing and I am starting to realize that I no longer have the speed or accuracy as did when I played constantly two years ago. Well, maybe that’s what I get for not playing in a year. Hopefully I can get back up to the skill I was once at and even further. Thanks for bringing the site and so many memories back.

Seeing this site back, after luckily checking only a couple days after its return, I am glad to see the game working. The little site that you could play it on didn’t work. But now I can play again. One problem: it wont save my scores and add them to my toral, and my highscores appear gone in the post-game analysis. OK here is what I found out to be broken:
FFR the game – Songs do not load correctly even when the cache is cleared. Sometimes the game does not recognize that you’re logged in. It might be depending on the browser used.
Forums – Extremely laggy, takes about 10 seconds to redirect somewhere else.
That’s about all the problems I have experienced. All the other problems I’m sure you are aware of.

I had an account back in 2008 or 2009, but forgot it after i saw the site was shut down. Did a search on google for mirror sites and it is back!!! YAY!!!!
I was playing FFR the game, and it was not giving me credits or scores. I have had minor lag issues, but those can be fixed over time.

OMG! Went on a short hiatus way back before FFR first shut down. When I came back, I was in tears knowing the greatest site was gone. I just about dropped SM too because I was into the FFR and SM community here. It just wasn’t worthwhile knowing it was just a lonesome hobby. I never knew it came back, but something in me today said checked the site. I was breath-taken when I saw the site to be backed. I had asked Tass to delete a couple of my scores because I FCed them by mashing the absolute crap out of them, and then FFR FREAKING GOES DOWN. That friggin’ figures!
The only time I asked such a favor too. I don’t want those FCs because the amount of mashing makes them worthless.
Rant aside, FFR IS BACK!!!!!!!

So far it looks like everything is the same as before the server went down. My username and password work still at least.

It’s pretty nice seeing the site almost like it used to be. Still a few issues but nothing in comparison to total failage ^^ <3 Cheers, Sythn
No kidding, the server was down for a year, but it would SUCK ALMOST BEYOND WORDS if everything was lost. Songs, stepcharts, scores etc.
I'm VERY glad Synth brought it back, and ***MANY THANKS*** to the creator of the FFR Offline Engine and the host of FFR 2.0 for keeping FFR alive, even when this site was down, and presumably gone for good.
The unfortunate circumstances that led to this site being down nearly a year, are very small in comparison to a complete loss of the site itself.
It was offline, that is all it was.
I'm eager to get back to playing again.

I have found that the rank system still works. Got my best ESC score (2-1-0-0)
887 9 ESC – Super Version 1,463,705*
I’ve gotten 3 new personal bests today, including ESC, and all of them recorded and updated properly.
Grand Total Score appears to be working. I know it’s going up and not staying the same, so it appears to be working properly (should get out a calculator)
(BTW, any who have said the Grand Total Score is not working, Refresh your screens with F5!)

I am amazed the site is back. I wasn’t to vocal before it went down. I was really only here for the game. Time to change that.

Ok today I just found out the site is back.
It was around 1 am when I did
I literally called all of my dam friends and tried my best not to yell into the damn phone as to how fuking happy I was to see this back online.
I SPAZZED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE FINALLY CALMING MY ASS DOWN and playing some songs.
Really glad to be back, and thank you Synthlight.
I can safely say and bet that everyone here now literally loves you ^_^

Wow, Synth, glad to hear after so long.
If you’re interested, I have a friend who kept an off-line version of the engine alive when the site went down, and I really think he deserves some thanks.
