the ability to seer is drastically less valuable without the ability to communicate outside of the thread. if the Police find a green, they can't say to the green, "psst, we're the two cops. here's a list of the known roles thus far." for the information to come into play whatsoever, the cop(s) would have to go public with the results at some point.

      one more thing.

*IF we do NOT have the Fireman and Police reveal themselves to thread*
THEN we should declare a building each night for the Fireman to stay in, imo. all others stay away from that building.
picking a building for the Fireman to stay in would continue until few buildings remain (probably 3). the Fireman's ability to save multiple townies would be much stronger late-game.

I still like the full reveal idea better though.

See Vic gets what I'm saying. Just for night, 4 houses for human, 5 for the fireman to hide in, then from there the police can start seering since the houses will more random.

It doesn't do much to stop the Arsonists.

After all, one of the ways they have to win is to burn every building there is. There is almost no chance for them to win only using this way, but that doesn't mean they can't focus on setting fire to the houses that are empty, that way they staying safe...

...the only progress the townsfolk would have is that they seer one person Green. Which isn't bad, I guess.

It is true that with all these plans, the amount of deaths that happen will be lower, but is that very good? A bigger suspect list may be a disadvantage in the future. The Arsonists could hide better, even with the specials coming out.
The plan didn't really involve stopping the arsonists burning the houses down, we want them to burn them down. If we publicly announce 4 buildings, and the arsonists hit one of those buildings then we can say we have a confirmed townie. If they don't hit it, then sure we have lets odds of hitting lynching someone red day 1, but day phase analysis can help us here.

We'd go to every building together, block every fire, get a seer result every time, and powerplay that to victory.

Yoshi then declared no talking outside of the thread. Only issue was that zoshi had already claimed fireman. Which means that the arsonist roleblocker could block him by name every night and render him useless. The game was restarted from there.

For some reason that thread was deleted.

It also means that you shouldn't publicly claim as fireman. You will get name role-blocked every round until the arsonist roleblocker is dead.

The best we can do is avoid providing any real information on the buildings we're going to occupy. Confusion and misdirection are key here.
Roleblocker can only block in a house. So the roleblocker would have to know which house the fireman was going to every round.

Full reveal isn't a terrible idea, at any point since they can't do anything about, but how can we back up those claims? Fireman should wait to claim until he saves someone, or it's very late-game and has to work to save the remaining towns. police should wait to claim until they have a solid seerings list.

It doesn't help us much now to reveal our specials.

Ah. Should add that to op then (unless I skimmed over).

See Dance, specials shouldn't come out.

but in all seriousness, guys we need to plan something out. Those of you who are active, say something now. Day 1 comes I'm asking everyone a lot of questions, especially those who weren't here the pass couple days.

I knew about the roleblocking thing already haha.

I mean, I guess if they wait to reveal until we're about to accidentally lynch them, it's all the same. sure. it's more important that we keep them safe than for us to know who they are. I'll back off that idea then. (probably. gonna keep brainstorming.)

how about declaring buildings for townies to stay in and for special roles to stay away from? thoughts, anyone?

I've been pushing for this idea. But so far I haven't heard a whole lot of feedback about it besides from you, Vic, and a little from Tps and Kraut.

^ yeah good call, Zoshi. going public with roles just seems like standard TWG fare. I'm still getting back into the swing of things. bear with me plz.

one exception to typical reveal rules: the Police might not want to reveal even if one Police member gets close to being lynched. with the revealed Police member alive, the Roleblocker would target that Police member for the rest of the game and shut them down. it's up to the Police to evaluate all circumstances and make the decision on when to go public.

I'm reconsidering the "announce buildings for Townsfolk" idea, too. Green seerings could win us the game in the long run. I'll make a more concise post pretty soon with the finalized idea I want to pitch to everyone.

Either way, I suppose that gathering green seerings is a very good idea! It may as well help clearing some of the players.

Here's the plan: towns go to one of these four houses, grocery store, bar, school, shack.

Fireman go hide, cops do cop stuff.
