FFR Mapus

FFR Mapus Fun Maximus

Maldon hooked up the ole google maps API to our GeoIP database so that all the users on FFR can plot their locations across the world. Want to see how accurate it is? Simply Visit the FFR Mapus page and see for yourself. It will place a location pin for you automatically if you are logged in. Looky looky, us admins already have pin points.

*In addition.. If you find someone near you on the map, you can click on their name and it will take you directly to their profile.*

Cheers,

Synthlight

  1. 1st! cool

  2. Mal is amazing
    <3

  3. Apparently it doesn’t like IE7.

  4. Apparently Synthlight lives basically an hour away from me…

  5. And ROFL at sarahxjane for starting out the same word “Apparently.”

  6. “Apparently Synthlight lives basically an hour away from me…”

same! and you live close to me too :o

  7. Weird.
    :P

And I can’t get on using FF3 either.
    Hmm.
    I’ll restart or something.

  8. It works fine for both IE7 and FF3 for me.

    And crobins, :D awesome

  9. This is heaven for stalkers.

  10. my location is wrong

  11. It didn’t map me in the correct location >.>

  12. Naperville/Aurora area is pretty big. Rofl, goodluck finding ole’ synth.

@ crobins: My friend lives in wakeasha or however you spell it, I’ve been up there a few times, amazing place.

  13. guys, the location is based off your IP. if your ISP is lazy, then your location might be off. If you are on a wireless internet connection, like a laptop card, you will seem to jump around the map. The idea of this is to give you a general idea of the location.

  14. Same here. I live in Kalkaska MI which is north of where I was placed.

But I like the idea :P

  15. Oh I see.

  16. Yay I located myself at Mifflin park.

  17. Haha, cool. O:

  18. Restarted.
    Cleared all information in Firefox.
Still isn’t working in either browser.
    Ah well.

  19. Awesome.

  20. Awesome!

  21. kinda scary but its a hair off for me so ill enjoy…lol at the amount of people around me…0

  22. I’m so glad that this is implemented. Great feature.

  23. Aw now my thread is useless :(

Oh well this is still cool, thanks XD

  24. lol, I jumped 5 or 6 miles down the road from me with my wireless card. O well, close enough. Sweet job Maldon.

  25. It’s off by 20 miles for me.

Maybe it’s because I’m on my laptop in a different place?

  26. 1 person near me. I feel so lonely ;.;

  27. doesn´t work for me. Maybe because I use Firefox..whatever.

  28. The location database is mostly accurate within 25 miles.

  29. never mind.

  30. @Tyler Reece idk how to spell it either and yeah its a nice place, the map thing is off for me though =/ I live in West Allis.

  31. i’m alone :(
and whats with everyone on the east side of the us

  32. It kind of randomly placed me somewhere in Vermont. But I’m fine with people not knowing which town I’m in. =P

  33. So, what happens when 1 million red pin points are scattered throughout the map. How will we find people’s names o.o

  34. “So, what happens when 1 million red pin points are scattered throughout the map. How will we find people’s names o.o”
zoom in close to the area your looking for..?

  35. I live near Synth! :D

  36. how about map chat :D

  37. That is still a bit difficult to find certain people. A search feature would be fun so we don’t have to click random points at least.

  38. yea not working for me either… maybe me and Sarah, living near the falls has something to do with it..

  39. Is this a late april fools joke? I want to place myself on this map :O

  40. search feature would be nice I agree.

  41. The link is broken here… >.<

  42. And yeah. The accuracy isn’t great but who wants to have a million people know exactly where you live? I got put in Denver which is around an hour drive away :D

  43. like sarahxjane it isnt loading for me on any browser
anyway great job on bringing a new feature to life MalDON may you do so on many more to come

  44. Whoa..I live right next to Synth lol. I wish I lived in Naperville, lucky.

  45. Just for the record, the location is within 5-10 miles of your actual location most of the time. This utility is not designed to give away your address but give others a general idea. You guys know how secretive I am and I have no problem plotting a pin on this map.

    Cheers,

    Synthlight

  46. Yea thanks to the admins for not telling us what is going on with the link >_>

  47. it placed me nearly 2-2 1/2 hours away from where i actually am.

  48. does this not open in Mozilla Firefox 3? :(

  49. I have the latest Firefox and it works. :/

  50. This thing was almost scarily accurate. Mine was only about 2 streets away from my old and current locations.

  51. I think there should be an option to allow members to be added, because some may not want to be listed.

  52. Anyone in Canada able to use it?

I know heyitsmee isn’t in the USA.

    Perhaps it hates non-Americans.
    ><

  53. Don’t use the mirrors. The map will not load.

  54. I logged into my friend’s account ‘x2bitx’ and viewed his name on the map, logged out and logged back into mines (I was just checking to see if it the name would change because of IP or something) but now I’m back in my account and it keeps saying ‘x2bitx’ instead of knuckles2224, and yes I cleared cache and opened up a new browser.

  55. I’m on the main site.

  56. i think it doesnt work for canadians, cuz it doesnt work for me either…

  57. i’ve got the same problem. The page won’t load for me, though I’m using Safari >_< macs ugh!

  58. Wow, awesome concept. Really good job, Mal.

But it plotted me 30 miles away from where I actually live : (

  59. Woot, I’m the only FFRer on Nantucket :)

  60. I’m also Canadian, and it doesn’t work ;)

  61. It may be accurate by 25 miles, but I’m pretty far off. Showing me in Hazelton PA instead of Wyoming PA.

  62. must be canadians….hmmm a bug perhaps?

  63. It’s now showing my name, thanks.

  64. And now it’s not, it’s annoying and I hate it.

  65. We don’t hate Canadians, or mac users. Hell, I’m a mac user. It works fine in FF3 and Safari 3. Make sure you have javascript turned on.

  66. It’s all turned on, i never turn any of that off, wouldn’t have a clue how to…too used to my pc R.I.P pc. and i wasn’t saying it was a hate message on us (canadians & mac users)

  67. I can’t help you guys unless I know what’s happening. By just saying it doesn’t work helps me none.

  68. I am Canadian and it is not working.

  69. Sheesh, I’m not x2bitx!

  70. when i click FFR mapus link, it just loads a completely blank page and does not load anything , my java script is enabled too but it still doesnt work, i tried loading it in IE , Firefox, Avant, and also Safari, non of them seem to work…apparently it doesnt load for people in canada…? why is that ( im from canada too )

  71. The map page loads absolutely nothing but a blank white screen for me, in FireFox 2. The page source is blank, as well. Internet Explorer 7 simply ‘cannot display the webpage’ as if it doesn’t exist.

  72. Yep i’m Canadian 2 and it doest show the page

  73. I’m not shadow2224 either! It’ll say all other names except knuckles2224

  74. it is WRONG! I live like 25 miles southeast! BOO!!!

  75. Well this sucks. I can’t find myself because I don’t have a static IP… This should go off of the location people actually put into it for this particular map.

  76. Damn, only three people in the same state as me (Oregon), all up in the Portland area, and I don’t know who any of them are.
Lol. It’s actually pretty accurate for me, only about a mile’s walk from my house.

  77. this needs to get fixed so people in canada may use it…. XD

  78. rofl, right city, other then that it’s way off

  79. My friend, Bunny Pants, logged onto his account on my computer and went to the map and it erased my name for his. Fix?

  80. I click the link and it takes forever to load, when it does the title of the page is “failed to open page” it then on a blank screen go to tell me the error message of and i quote:
” Safari can’t open the page “http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/usermap/map.php” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later. “

  81. Yes, I’m Canadian and it only loads a blank page.

  82. Roy: Same thing happened to me.

  83. LOL Cannot connect to internet, diagonse connection problems

  84. I’m sorry, HORRIBLE idea. Not saying that FFR isn’t safe or anything. But I don’t believe that its 100% free of predators. I don’t people knowing where I live at the click of a link.

  85. There’s plenty of people in Canada using the map. The reason we are not allowing users to plot themselves is to keep the information somewhat accurate. People without a doubt would lie and put themselves in the middle of the ocean, which completely ruins the idea of the map.

  86. Not working for me. The net usually has access to my IP, and right now, mapus’s main page does not load, it simply remains white screen.

  87. Yes i’m aware many people in Canada would be able to use the map now my next question and i don’t need specifics but for those people unable to use the map WHAT PART OF CANADA (OR THE WORLD) are you in?? Like say the state/province what-have-you
    I personally am in Ontario

  88. Cool!

  89. The server is just taking too long to respond. There is a lot of data it has to load for each person who has visited the page. I will be doing performance tweaks over the next few days.

  90. I am from Quebec (Sainte-Foy) stuck between the shopping malls and the good old Old Quebec ;)

  91. I am in BC and i cannot load or view the map….

  92. Nice idea, but I don’t live in Manhattan. :P I’m actually about 30 minutes or so east of Sprite (assuming his location is accurate).

  93. Ok, I made a small tweak that should force the map to show.

  94. This is neat. A little off like others have stated, but like it matters. Good enough.

    I like it. :D

  95. Rylan needs to learn how to read, as he mistakingly posted on the Angels and Airwaves Comment Board as such: The map thing has my location WRONG. WRONG I SAY!!! *rawr*
And I tried to fix it, but no, I still live in Portland. I live in Dallas, next to Salem, an hour away… fix meh. ><

  96. My name is still overrun by Bunny Pants. :/

  97. Everyone complaining: STFU

Nice pedo map. I’ve always wanted one.

  98. This is utterly wrong. They put me IN a park that is somewhere in or around Union, NJ. I live in Randolph, NJ. The Mount Freedom Area…

  99. Heh heh. Had my proxy on (as normal).
It logged me in and put me down as being in China. Ooops.
Turned it off, and it became relatively accurate. Put me about 30 miles north of where I really live, but closer than China. :)

  100. The map isn’t showing up for EAG, whom you love so dearly. The part where it’s supposed to show the map is blank but the writing, “You asked for it and now you got it. View where members of FFR get their groove on, and see who is near you,” appears. Walrus lover, please help your faithful servant out. I would greatly appreciate it.

  101. nothing is showing up :[

  102. It’s not working for me either.
In compliance with maldon’s earlier comment:
-everything under the sun is up to date
    -ff3 and ie6 both don’t work

Oh and to be a little more setailed of what it looks like:
    -the screen completely loads blank.
-the webpage title (the one that shows what you’re looking at)(ex. (for this page) FFR Mapus — flashFlashRevolution.com – Mozilla forefox) is the url for the website.

  103. Woot. It put me about half an hour away >.<

  104. Doesn’t work for me.
    Australia, anyone?

  105. xD wrong island FFR Mapus. gg.

  106. About 5 miles off for me. Not too bad for a 25 mile accuracy radius I guess.

  107. This is kind of creepy. Hope stalkers don’t join this site now.:(

    It’s right on for me.

  108. doesn’t work for me neither XD

  109. what the hell? what if I dont want people to know where I am?!?! There needs to be a way to hide yourself (or someone needs to tell me how)

  110. Ok my bad, it seems (after reading most of the comments) that it wont blow my location away any more then “P’cola, FL” will….so I guess to real gripes.

  113. The page is only white for me. :(

  114. it won’T work ):
    it’s just all white ^^

  115. Doesn’t work =[

Here are screenshots from the browsers that I tested it on. First one is Firefox 3, second one is IE7, and third one is Safari 3… I think.

  120. It’s over 60 miles off on me…Haha.
And you can see it pretty well with Firefox.

  121. Not working for me.

  122. I just keep getting “Safari can’t open the page.” or a blank screen in FF3 whenever I try it.

It looks like a cool idea though.

  123. not working for me. Everything loads but the Map.

  124. Heh.. Not even close. But, to be fair, it did get the city right.

  125. it doesn’t work for me.. i have IE7 and i click on the link and then i only see the words but nothing else shows up on the screen for this maps things :( sadness to the extreme

  126. La dee da. I also get the blank screen of death but I’m sure you guys will figure what’s what and fix it in no time, flat!

I’m Canadian…hmm, I find it highly suspect that we’re the most vocal group of people who the map feature hates.

If there’s any Canadian out there that CAN see it, let us know so we know it’s not some loony Divine Manifesto crap FFR is subjugating us Canadians to.

  127. @shenlon It wouldn’t be so much FFR’s manifesto as Google’s because it is their software.

and i was placed only about 50 miles south of where i lived but i did find where i lived.

  128. Oh, its way off for me.

  129. Not working…

  130. LOL @ AFRICA!! :P

  131. Everyone’s having so much fun with this… it’s a shame I can’t get it to open up! X(

  132. can’t load it

  133. Hehehehe, well it got the city right, and when I zoomed in, I thought that it would have the streets right too. :P

It was a bit off. :P

This is an amazing feature though. Am I seriously the only mainstream Chicago player? That’s a bit sad. :(

  134. now it’s downloading a blank PHP file

  135. Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

    What you can try:
    Diagnose Connection Problems

    More information

  136. More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

    Internet connectivity has been lost.
    The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website’s domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

  137. lol the map isnt showing for me.

  138. yeah it’s not working at all, blank page

  139. yeah mine is like, 2 hours from my actual location lol
i live like, 50 miles south of where it put me
    oh well…

  140. gah! I’m all alone….=(

  141. blahh, everything is correct, except for the streets around me; which is good for me :D LOL.

  142. oh wait HAHA, the streets arent wrong,
they just placed me on the other side of town.
    lawlz, :O

  143. IT WILL NOT WRK

  144. creppy stalkers can now find me. o.o

  145. not working for me

  146. “FFR Mapus” only works if your in the US :P

  147. it’s a conspiracy against the canadians =( kidding!

  148. If there is anyone in Australia who can view the map, let me know.

  149. its not working for me…

  150. its not working for me either ;_;

  151. Where can you update your location? Right now, it isn’t accurate to where I am located, lol!

  152. Blank page.

  153. blank here (ON, CA)

  154. It was blank for me as well.

The title and url was there.

However, there was just a white screen of dispair.

Page source was completely blank ( obviously )

    That is for Firefox.

IE said it couldn’t load the webpage.

  155. No one is like around me for 30 miles…I feel so alone. :P

  156. England here, blank page.

  157. no webpage for england :(

  158. *Sigh*, still doesn’t work.
    I’m in Canada btw.

  159. Looks like only people in the US can see it. I’m in Canada, doesn’t work for me either.

  160. it doesn’t work for me either,
    Canada…

  161. conspiracy theory anyone?

  162. Works fine for me–apparently I live near pokelda.

  163. Doesn’t work for me. In Canada too btw.

  164. I’m a bit too far west :(

  165. Not working in Michigan :\

  166. FUCKING CANADA homo

  167. lol. . . .. Asia XD !

  168. Oo hmmm …

    i only got a white site :(

  169. It denied meh access Dx
    So I can get stalked
    but cannot stalk myself?!?!
    Despicable.
    Nice idea though ^^

  170. First of all i’d like to say this is a sweet update, but it doesnt seem to work on IE or Opera…why? :( i want to know who plays ffr near me…:(

  171. ;flail;
    I WANT IT TO WOOOOOOOOOOORK
    D;
    damnyouwhitescreen.

  172. haha put me like 25 minutes away from where i really live =P

  173. Blank for me too. im in texas btw. so its not just a USA thing.

  174. I can get to the page on IE but the map itself won’t show up.

  175. Working but is also off (About an Hour off), seems like people are getting annoyed by this

  176. not workinggg D:

    with FF3 D:

  177. I disappeared =/

  178. not working on FF3 for me.
It works for other people, apparently.

  179. doesnt work for me

  180. Its a fucking consirpacy I tell you! America secretly hates Canada!

  181. This is the most unsafe map ever.

  182. Epically failing over here with this viewing of the map task… -_-’

  183. It’s not a USA thing. There are other people, including myself, within the states that can’t view the map.
I get to the page, see the text written in, but big blank spots where the map is. Using IE.

  184. How may I take myself off of the map?
I am a little pissed off that FFR would do something so personally intrusive without warning, even if it is only hardly accurate. If there is no way to turn this feature off, I will be very upset.

  185. Sad.
Only 3 people live relatively close to me, at least according to the map.
    ]=

    ALSO.
If you want to see the map, as far as I know, it doesn’t work in IE. Try it in FF.

  186. TAKE ME OFF OF THIS NOW.

  187. TAKE ME OFF OF THIS NOW.

  188. TAKE ME OFF OF THIS NOW.

  189. i agree with STD JaJa
we should have the right to choose if we want to be seen on the map or not… or this is just so very wrong on many levels…heh….

  190. Worked for me since first try. I use the Flock web browser. It uses the FF2 Engine because Flock has a deal with Mozilla. Also Flock is going to get the FF3 engine very soon. Through all of this, it works fine loading any page I come across, including this Map.

  191. P.S. being a Web Designer I use about 20 web browsers, both large and small. For me it works in the following web browsers below. The ones with Asterisks do NOT work with the map, that I know.

    IE 6
    IE 7
    IE 8 (Beta)
    *Songbird
    *HeatSeek
    Firefox 2
    Firefox 3
    Flock 1.2
    Flock 2.0 (Beta)
    Maxthon (U3 Edition)
    Firefox (U3 Edition)
    Opera
*Netscape (Yeah I know nobody uses Netscape anymore and was discontinue in Feb but what the hell.)

  192. Was using IE 6. Downloaded Firefox. It works now. =]

  193. doesnt work …. in IE & FF :/

  194. to bad it doesnt work

  195. i agree we should have the ability to choose if we want to be on the map. it’s a personal safety issue with people and people are afraid this could get more and more accurate and one day a random guy/girl shows up at their door. “hi i’m ______. You must be _______.” also STILL not working. really starting to bother me. I do want to see who all is around me because i live in a tiny ass little town and i want to see if any one on here lives even remotely close to me ^_^

  196. only white page

  197. admins, please fix this, i wanna be on the map in canada!!

  198. now i can see who i will need to bang

  199. so no one outside of USA can view it?..

    Racist!

  200. I’m from England and it won’t work for me either!

  201. I’m mapped a few blocks away from my actual location.

And ROFL at all the down-voters.

I wonder what admin I live closest to.

  202. By the way, try Apple Safari.

  203. safari dun work haha

  204. White page, no source. nothing. That’s on FF. On safari (which i downloaded just o try this) I just get a page error. IE can’t display the webpage either.

Werd man. I’m trying to think of what would make it so some people can view it and some can’t.. but nothing obvious comes to mind. x.x

  205. Same problem for me! Living in canada and using FF3; I get nothing! I just load a blank page! ;p
    Grrrr. ‘-_-
    Technology is SO fickle!

  206. I still have Firefox 1.5 and it works fine

  207. Apple Safari 3.1 works fine for me. I dunno what’s with all you guys. No offense.

  208. “If you are on a wireless internet connection, like a laptop card, you will seem to jump around the map.”

No wonder I’m off. I’m on my laptop.

  209. double post much??
but argh this is now really pissing me off because i do want to see who all is in my area!

  210. Not working here.

  211. this is probably the worst idea the team has come up with. they dont realize the potential danger that players could face if a person knows the whereabouts of the other.

Did you guys hear about the 15 year old gay kid that got shot in a school?

Theres some people out there that hate others. I dont think FFR should be doing this…

  212. Well, let’s prove it.

I’m probably on the map right now.

    I’m 16 and bi.

    Anyone wanna shoot me?

P.S. What’s with all these downvoters?

  213. There is no danger in knowing what city a user lives in. The only people that should be afraid are the ones that hand out their phone number. That can be traced to an exact address quite easily.

  214. you can zoom out on google maps and find the area, and if you know the area well enough you could find out what the city is. or you could google map the stree…..

  215. this is what i got:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

    What you can try:
    Diagnose Connection Problems

    More information

if its not working in places other than the US than thats racist to ppl who dont live in the US doesnt anyone else agree T_T

  216. Won’t work for me, it’s blank =(

  217. I just got a blank page
    BUT
I really think is an unsafe idea
I agree with the comment on “choosing whether we wish to be displayed on the map or not”
I don’t want anyone knowing my location! It’s kind of scaring me actually, knowing anyone could find me. I don’t think this is a very good idea in the least bit. I don’t support this until that “choose if you’re displayed on the map or not” idea is placed into affect.
This really is unsafe. There are internet pedifiles ALL OVER THE PLACE and this is basically giving them places to target.

  218. ALSO
FFR can get sued IF some stupid pedifile uses the map to find somebody and something happens [such as rape and kidnapping and whatnot].
so seriously, they clearly weren’t thinking at all when they set this up. And don’t they need some kind of consent from the users before doing something like this? it’s seriously wrong.

  219. ^agreed.

make it optional at least guys. some people wanna other people to know
their location, some dont. this is also like a privacy issue. sooo um
im kinda wanting that optional solution happening plllleeeeaasee :D

  220. Going to repeat what I’ve said many times.

We are only showing publicly available information. Lots of people not in America have been able to use the map. Saying it’s “racist” just makes you sound ignorant. Before you bash the feature, actually use it. Anyone who has used it knows that it is not very accurate at all. It doesn’t point to your house. The only way some creepy person could hunt you down is if you talk to them, give them your name and address, and lots of reference pictures.

Also, a lawsuit over any of this would go no where. If you’re that afraid, step away from your computer right now, the internet is not for you.

  221. And you can’t say you were not warned:

“Want to see how accurate it is? Simply Visit the FFR Mapus page and see for yourself. It will place a location pin for you automatically if you are logged in.”

  222. Nice going, Mal.

  223. the map wont show up for me:(
does any1know how 2 fix it cuz i wanna see other ppl near by me

  224. what a waste of time. it doesn’t even work

  225. mal wins teh gold

  226. =( Blank page
Maybe with FireFox, it doesn’t works

  227. actually my real location is a little bit south east from where i’m pinned on the map. niiice. :)

  228. Why is it broken? White page in MF and “Page cannot be displayed” in IE… Could we get this fixed plzzzzzzzz?

  229. cant get the map to work, and i’m also from canada..

  230. “Want to see how accurate it is? Simply Visit the FFR Mapus page and see for yourself. It will place a location pin for you automatically if you are logged in.”

lol that’s not being warned. I’m talking about before you even set the feature up. Some people just don’t want their location disclosed. Period. There’s no argument for that.

  231. That’s a pretty clear warning of what the feature does. So shut up complaining.

  232. Ok, enough of the arguing. The map will get privacy options.

This is how it will be setup:

If you are not on the map, you will be added when you view the page. You can remove yourself from the map, but you must never view the page again. Otherwise you will show up on the map.

This is a fair trade off.

  233. Propose credit compensations for those who can’t view the map.

  234. or just a solution lol

  235. why are people afraid of this…for the love of got it can throw you 10-15 miles off of where you actualy are.
unlike google earth i’ve seen my friends address pin pointed on that map not to mention mine

  236. hmmm seems like i lied…..google must have put up privacy things on it now….lmao it runs ON google XD

  237. My map doesn’t work, why? :(

  238. Kamloops, BC, Canada. Unable as well. (:

  239. Why so many people bitchin’ about this? And why all the commotion too, I mean you give away your photos and your friends photos, your personal info amongst others things to some random people you met online which you call “friends”. And isn’t it a little bit unfair that you don’t wanna let other people see YOU, but YOU can still see NOT VERY ACCURATELY them? Bullshit. This feaute = cool, if it were able to work for more people it would be even cooler.

  240. fun but not off by some, lol i noticed lefty righty 100 miles away even though he used to live four houses down from me and is like now, a few blocks?

  241. I think it only works for Americans >:(

  242. it doesnt work at all dude this sux monkey balls

  243. yeah this is total BS. it does not work. i wish it did though.

  244. Not working. at all. Its deep sh, stuff.

  245. This isn’t working…………
    Why?
    :(

  246. OH MY GOSH I DO NOT LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO!!!!

  247. well that is like across the bay from me

  248. actually it says i live in oakland but you get the point!
oh and if you dont get the point the point is that im angry

  249. wait why am i getting +1 next to my comment?

  250. weeeee!!!! +1!!!!

  251. OHHH MY GOOOSHHHHHH if you view the entire world which is slowwww!!!, OOOOOHHH MYYY GOOOOOSHHHHHHHH THE USA IS SWARMING!!!!!!

  252. :( I haven’t been able to view the page at all yet! I want to know if anyone in England actually plays FFR apart from me!

  253. I couldnt either don’t know why…Im using IE7. Anyone else with that problem?

  254. I use IE6 and can’t get it to work either. Realized that the privacy report was blocking the cookies, so I unblocked them, but it still wouldn’t load.

  255. Something tells me this isn’t a good idea, even with the privacy options.

  256. im using IE and i cant see it? lame

  257. Last time I checked, I didn’t live in the middle of an airport.
Oh well, only about 10 miles off.

  258. Random post.

  259. Lol sj.

How do we fix the canada situation Mal? You can’t really replicate the problem, so I dont know.

  260. I got the map page to show up while I was browsing with a proxy. :)

  261. maldon is awesome and he showed us the walrus with the bucket what will he do next to amaze us even more!!:D

  262. If you live in Canada, the only way I know how to view this page is to use a proxy, like TwilightPrincess mentioned.

  263. Hehe I don’t know where I live. :}

  264. i find it impossible to believe there is no one out there with a solution for this

we already have a clear view that it has something to do with the IPs when you use a US proxy the map works

i bet someone in a google map development community would probably know this issue

  265. i cant see the map but i can get to the page. som text in the middle of the page comes out but it jus stays blank

  266. yea my location is off
    but its pretty close :P

  267. “when you use a US proxy the map works”

I tried 4 different proxys last night, and couldn’t get any of them to show the map.

  268. @heyitsmee

You’re wrong. There’s something else causing the maps to get goofy. If has nothing to do with proxies or any of that sort. Because there are plenty of people who have accessed the map outside of the united states, we can rule out that the map only works for the united states.

  269. Hey MaI, I totally agree with you on everything and I don’t see why people should get mad with this feature, they still have FlashFlashRevolution to play. And everyone who is getting scared or joking about predators, there is about a 2 million out of 1 chance that they will come to your house because there are a lot of users out there who are on this site. I hope everyone realizes this is FFR, not a war.

  270. Yeah idk ive tryed tons to get this to work and it still wont come up for me…….. Oh well i guess

  271. i am getting first

  272. My computer and browser (FF3) are pretty much as fresh as you can get. I reformatted yesterday, checked my email, shut down. turned my computer on, checked email again, went on FFR, tried to view map (with javascript on), and it doesn’t work. (I live in Canada)

I’m going with the idea that it’s certain ISPs that don’t work, and their corresponding proxies. There might be something common to most ISPs in the USA, but for some reason is not present with most ISPs outside of the USA. That’d be my guess. But don’t take me too seriously, it’s just a theory from someone who has no expertise or experience in the area whatsoever.

  273. It still is strange how most people in the U.S. get to view and not many people in Canada…

It could be the ISPs, but still, it’s strange and doesn’t seem fair to most people.

  274. This is pretty cool, I like it!

  275. >_< doesnt work for me… i dont really wanna know where the ppls live anyway O_O

  276. Alright so besides the map, when did this game competition happen?

  277. Oh wow, fail. Wrong one. :P

  278. doesn;t work for me at all

  279. great thing u got here Mal, would be better if it worked. Australia. IE(what ever is the latest). Good luck with fixing the bugs.

  280. The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

    yea…definately not working

  281. it doesn’t seem to work….
everytime i try to see it, it doesn’t work…

  282. you should make this available to canadians.

  283. This is racist, Canadians should be able to use it. =P
