Rofl, ear problems (eczema in my right ear to be precise (yes, INSIDE my ear canal))

I'm half-deaf and playing is awkward as hell! As a matter of fact, anything involving sound and basically life in general sounds weird right now. The only thing I feel like doing is reading in silence. :/

[This post shall document the beautification of my profile]

Dec. 16, 3:13 AM - Awwwright, placeholders.

Dec. 16, 12:21 PM - Alright, now we're getting somewhere. Got a avi-background correlation, plus nice transparent areas for the text on top of the images. Mmm.

Dec. 16, 9:55 PM - Colors and background bits! Don't need to be a pro for these kinds of things, as it turns out ^^ now I need better borders and text..

Dec. 17, 11:41 AM - Booorders! Text now, also more vectors maybe.

Dec. 18, 12:11 PM - DONE! How's this look?

Haha, no but really, the tournament was great fun while it lasted! At the very least, I'll be able to play new songs each week without having to whore them intensely and develop mindblocks.

Well, now that I'm out, here are some thoughts I feel like putting out.
This tournament definitely helped me improve my skill. Before the tournament, I could barely SDG 9s and 10s. Then I found the standalone, along with time to practice. Went ahead and AAA'd the things I could, to get them out of the way (which I haven't been doing as of late :S ) and I've got 1-6 non-legacy AAA'd, plus part of the 7s. But then I noticed that I could AAA 9s in one or two plays, hehe, so D3 was a breeze for me while I was in it. Although, seeing that my skill was only held back because of my lack of standalone, and not because I actually got some kind of epic skillboost (hi19 comes to mind), I decided to test myself with the D4 songs. Turns out I managed to AAA 2 of their songs, Velocity and Finder, the latter being one not many of them managed to AAA. And I pushed myself up to D4. Joy.
Well I thought it was a good idea at the time, but as it turns out, round 4's SAMBISTA is deadly for me. On the first night playing it, I got 4-0-0-1, but I also developed mindblocks, and honestly, the closest I came to that score since was probably something like 5-1-0-1, along with a bunch of other unclean scores with misses. I usually average 15 goods on it if I play it all the way through, which really sucks. It's a VC, how could it do that to me?!
But really, I did it to myself, in a way. I don't really regret it; it just didn't feel right for me to AAA D3's songs so quickly and so easily, while so many others struggled. I suppose that's what it's like to be the top of one's division, but as I say, it doesn't feel right for me to be in D3 when I could obviously compete in D4, and I stand by my decision.

To sum up, if either (1) I didn't bump myself up or (2) SAMBISTA wasn't round 4's D4 song, I could probably have ended up in top 8, or even top 5/3. Alas, both did happen, and so I say, until next year. o7

Just felt like throwing this out there :D

-edit- Can't even touch this score anymore, closest I got was 9-0-1-0 D:

Just took up playing a bunch of FFR since the tourney started, and found out about the standalone, which helps a LOT since I would always get all choppy and fail near the end of AAAs. On that note, I've been playing a bunch of easier songs to AAA them, but the damned legacy songs elude me yet.

It isn't the first time I've made the trek, haha. But man, this year was so awesome. Thank you for putting up with me rambling while we walked to the TCC, and thank you for being part of the Team Quebec awesomeness. I'll see you next year for sure!
