    Re: R^n: Shifting Paradigms

I agree with you there Duk. The main reason I was excited is because it's hard as hell to sift through all the **** to find the good original files. AP is knowledgable enough to make a pack where I don't have to do that- it would all be right there. That's the bigger reason I'm disappointed.

Welcome to Stepmania. This is the new fad.

I'm still pissed that this is getting called off though. It would have been fun.

for a while anyway. Then we'd all find a new fad to whore out.

Getting called off? If you all want it as badly as you do, how hard could it be to appoint a new judge (or judges) to assemble the pack?

Because people have certain expectations, and most judges can't meet those expectations. It doesn't matter. People know what's up by know.

No real reason, my post was not 100% serious . Add a few Zaghurims and a couple of million blurks to that too and they will have some kinda party I believe.

Edit: Since Duk seems to be online now:
You could probably make something nice out of this, talk to ap.

hayden's too freeform. otherwise he would've stepped mei correctly.

although i agree that even if ap isn't willing to continue hosting/judging off of ffr, the pack isn't dead

I could host this pack if I ever decide to get webspace or not.

Who are you, then? I know like 0 about #machogang and the old #a0. I apologize for my ignorance and rash judgment.

Duk, originality isn't really a fad. With Stepmania, we've always had fads of genres of music to whore out because someone stepped something unique and everyone liked it. Originality is too broad a term to become a niche in itself. That is, unless jazz is the universal definition for original. >_>

Originality is something I'm looking for. However, for me, it's just another basis for evaluation of simfiles (and how much I like them). It goes along handily with fun, difficulty, and so on. I think what the community needs to focus on is single simfile releases. We haven't had very many since pre-F4.

I'm glad originality is a fad! What is everyone complaining about? What's so wrong with people doing their own thing and trying out new stuff?

"yeah originality will become the new fad and everyone will whore it out"
