can i make pump steps rofl

I think enough people play O2Jam for solo not to be a big problem for too many. I've been playing some Auto-Generated doubles steps when I've gotten bored, though, and it's hard. Left-handing **** is not easy. Honestly, though, that just gives more potential for difficulty, and you can still control it by limiting the left hand arrows. I think some of this is what SM has been needing. Let's just hope people stuck doing the same old **** can adapt.

Doing solo steps should be very interesting.

I've tried playing Konami original double charts, but those are hard to do.

          doubles is unbeleivably hard.

          edit: solo is fun.

I think it would be cool if somebody released a pack of solo/double songs meant just as etudes to enhance your solo/double ability. I've played a few relatively simple autogen solo steps and uplefts and uprights just threw me off horribly.

Well yeah, but it would be good for getting ideas like the ones above more widely accepted as it would help people get better and more comforatable with different amounts of arrows.

I'm playing all my Keyboard Packs on solo right now... not too tough. Doubles... HARD AS ****. Hmm... I'm half debating on trashing this Chopin stepchart I'm making and redo it for solo... that'd give me a lot more potential... hmm... I'm gonna go be pensive, brb.

Realize that autogenned doubles are actually more annoying than usual because they move back and forth between sides and you often have to do **** all on one hand.

If you play the files with turn mods on (especially supershuffle), it pretty much solves that. I'll play the same file six times on each mod... there's your etudes Dore. ^_^

BTW, solo is much tougher than I initially predicted- I'm glad I kept all my old DDR packs. I've found three methods so far:

                          A) Using two finger index.

                          B) Using a six finger spread with your two ring fingers taking left and right, and your middles fingers now taking upleft and upright.

                          C) Using your four finger spread. On solo, it makes for an interesting spread-index hybrid.

I'm sure there's other methods, but there are the ones that are working best for me. Not gonna attempt anything of this one-handed, but I could definetely see that being plausible. One handers would have each finger cover two keys?

Anyways, I'm best with a plain two finger index (on solo), but I'm trying to learn six finger spread. Trills between ring and middles fingers are a pain in the ass though. However, it makes doubles a ton easier. I'ma keep playing, this is pretty fun re-learning all this.

EDIT: Sorry if this is a hijack from the initial topic, but it's where the discussion seems to be heading.

For solo/double I think it's easiest to reassign keys. For solo I usually reassign so it's like o2jam without the space bar, and for doubles I just add two keys in (I change it up from time to time, and I've only tried doubles on kb like three times). So really solo/doubles is more than just adding arrows, it completely changes how the game is played.

SDF is left hand and HJK JKL are right (it's been a while, it might be shifted one key right or left). Space bar is then kind of like the turn table on Beatmania. I use SDF and JKL for solo and have tried many many different setups for doubles. NOthing seems to work wonderfully for doubles. It's just hard no matter how you cut it.
