Oh and I wanted to comment on hi19's ABCDEath comment, yes that should be a 9 there's nothing hard about it besides the little trill. If we're stuck with this particular system of 13 difficulties then that's just how it is.

Crowdpleaser has a trill that's almost impossible to do without overlay or double setup. A 10 second jumpstream section is not comparable to the trill and the bursts in crowdpleaser whatsoever. Runny morning I wouldn't care if that got dropped to a 10 either cause it's pretty easy aside from the jack/trill part.

@MaxGhost: jimerax is usually the one who ultimately rates the files and puts them in-game. It wasn't until very recently (as in, a few days ago) that I believe Kayla had the ability to add files along with their parameters. If someone other than jimerax had that ability earlier, we'd probably do something about some of the other files (ABCDEarth def. a 9 IMO).

Until then, jimerax did all the decision-making on simfiles, mmkay? And his communication with the crowd wasn't always a grade A track record.

You cannot. I repeat, cannot, rate things the way you are unless you intentionally want to **** the entire rating system. You can't just rate some things differently than others and expect it to make sense/work in general. So ****ing inconsistently rated I can't handle the stupid right now.

MaxGhost: you obviously have a few things you need to learn about rhythm games. You don't rate things off of their hardest portion of the file, that's absolutely horrible. You rate the file overall, and tweak the file's rating based off of the extreme portions of the chart. Most rhythm game difficult ratings are based off of PASSING difficulty. Being that FFR doesn't have a relevant lifebar, the next option would be to take FC difficulty. Also add to the fact that boos do hurt your score, and that it's assumed you're aiming for a full combo with a low or no boo count.

First off, let's get a perspective from someone who holds indifference towards at this particular speed. Let's look at it objectively.

Fall Silently
- repeating jumpstream triplets at 146 BPM - from a person who doesn't have any issues in patterns at this particular speed, it's nothing but repeating patterns over and over again. Work on your timing and be sure that you can hit this rhythm consistently, it's not that difficult.
- the short jumpstream right before the dubstep section is dense, but it's way too short to be of any issue. The [14][32] jumps are 12 note trills on both hands a piece, which is relatively short. Coordinate your hands properly and this won't be a problem.
- the dubstep section is VERY empty, lowering the overall density of the file. When it picks up, it has jump jacks that are easy to coordinate, with the exception of the [14][24] x [14][24] jumps which are still split-handed jacks that both share the right arrow. Very little increase.
- the last little burst is a nice touch, but it's not fast enough to be considered an extreme.

Ambient Angels
- first third of the file plays like a borderline 9/10 - the patterns are very simple and aren't split heavy, using the [12] and [34] combination as starting points for the 6/7 note jumpstream bursts.
- mid-section is streamy, but lacks any real technical patterns (trill/jacks/runningmen, etc.), and then leads to jumpstream that is layered on top of the relative simple stream, without forcing any sorts of mini-jacks or any real tricky trill-heavy patterns.
- the last 10 seconds of the file layer on a second instrument on top of the previous jumpstream, which -considerably- increases the density for a reasonable distance. This isn't your typical Crowdpleaser/Time to Eye/Runny/etc. spike, it actually holds steady for quite a bit. Even with the density increase, most of the denser jumpstream areas use [12] [34] back to back, and therefore keep flow relatively intact by not forcing split jumps.

Kayla thinks that it's a high 10, I think it's a low 11, and that's how we came to the consensus of a borderline file. I could be happy with Ambient Angels going either way to be honest.

EDIT: Also note that the difficulty increase caused by the stream increases the song difficulty based on how ridiculous it is. See: CP running at around 7/8 TPS until the 64th bursts/64th trills, which are 33.3333 T/s - THAT is an incredibly uncalled for spike, in comparison to something like RunnyMorning, which runs around 9 TPS and increases to roughly 17/18 TPS during the jump-jack/trill combination for only around a second and a half - that's a smaller spike considering that 17/18 TPS is caused by switching to nothing but jumps.

By NOT, I don't mean by FC difficulty, cause I completely agree with that, but you guys are ranking things harsher than they were before. Doing that is just utterly wrong, because then the files are not all ranked the same way. If you took the time to re-evaluate the difficulties of all the songs and did it that way, I would have absolutely no problem with that.

In the past there was ave miss and 1x of course it were different. Times are always going to change. The skill curve has changed MASSIVELY since the game started back in '02. You can't even compare. There's over 1000 songs in game and 13 difficulties to fit them in.

Obviously the extremity of the difficulty spike itself is going to factor how much weight in 'added difficulty' the file will receive. Songs have been rated this way the entire time, nothing's changed.

Then again, I wasn't taking into account the revamp the difficulty system received after avmisses were fixed, but everyone knew about that
