Initially I also thought that Fall Silently should be a 10

But I think 9 is perfectly reasonable now. The 1st half of the song is plenty Challenging material; it's only at the climax where it start behaving like a 10, and it's a small segment of the song.The 2nd half of the song is difficult to PA, sure, but easy enough to combo well. The slowness of the 2nd half is enough to keep it at a 9 regardless of the funky/awkward patterns I think. You can still make arguments for a low 10 though and it would still be fine.

and yeah, Ambient is borderline but should be an 11, but I think Fall Silently is clearly a mid-10, nowhere near the border

that [14] [23] trill and all dem jacks with coloured notes scattered about...not 9 material imo

Fall Silently is a low 10, no question. If you think it's a 9, bite me, I can AAA the apparently "hardest 9" but no where close to an AAA on this yet.

Rarely do I join in the disagreements on tourney songs - being one of the hosts that tends to pick cruel charts myself.

But I really have to make an exception. Here's why.

Glorious Morning (D3 chart) has a lot of stupid mistakes in it - be it the judge(s) fault, modifying it for the sake of the tourney (for the love of god never do this please, you get good charts that are turned to garbage - see broken arrow from custom 6 if you want proof of this. (Sorry hi19)) or kase's I don't know (I suspect the artist's fault for the record) I feel as if you did this chart some misjustice.

Biggest complaint: Why are there no trills where there should be trills on those snares. Like seriously. Come the **** on you know better than that. This isn't stepwars where stepping something wrong but doing the least badly gets the chart in engine. (Apologies if this comes off as extremely harsh but there's very unseen potential in this chart and it saddens me to see it wasted.)

Fall Silently (D4's chart) is absolutely horrific. Let me explain why.

1. I understand this chart is EXTREMELY technical. I dig the use of the 19nds on the vocals. Very clever and feels unDossarlike. Props man.

2. The seconds half of this chart is just bad Seriously what the hell is up with it. It makes no sense why the patterns you chose are there. (Not the 12th jack stuff the odd little jump trilly color gay shit at the end.) TLR I think you call it using anchors Dossar, but it seems like you used them like all hell. Pardon me if my use of the term is wrong.

3. This chart is not a 9. I don't know who said it was, but I will say they made an obnoxiously prevalent error in judgement.

4. I'm honestly kinda flabbergasted this chart even got through judging. Not to say the right ideas aren't here, but I feel as if the execution is terrible. The intro little hi hat stepping stuff changes around for no reason other than to keep you from being bored. This is a technical chart for hell's sake. Do it right. It feels wrong you did that. :monkey:

Sorry if it seems like I'm just being angry and deathly critical, but if the rest of the D4 charts are misrated cluster ****s, this is going to be more like doing chores rather than competing. I'd rather compete.

TL;DR You guys are [honestly] gonna say I'm talking out my ass. So ignore everything. I'm Middie remember.

Is it just me, or in the past 2 months, new songs have almost always been one difficulty below what they should be. I had a hard skill drop in the past while, but either it's way worse than I thought it was, or jimerax is judging charts way lower than they should be.

I'd like to hear what other mistakes there are. Not trying to start controversy, but I want feedback. Don't want to make the same mistakes twice.

Yes, the drum rolls could have been trills, but I took to the drum rolls and make rolls. Went for the pun, I guess you could say. And as bmah said, I didn't want to push the difficulty. It's just at the flow that I personally enjoy.

But one thing, this chart got a perfect score, with the judges being bmah, Kayla and Luis. They all said that there were no problems at all and that it was basically spot on. On an opposing side, I sent this exact chart to hi19 before notes came out (and after I had already sent it in) and he pointed out a lot of things that could have been changed.

I guess this is one of those charts that could be stepped multiple ways depending on how the step artist sees it. Everyone is going to have a different opinion.

Again, I appreciate all comments. First file in FFR, gotta know what I'm doing right/wrong for future charts.

Kinda gotta agree with Middie on this one. That chart is definitely not a 9. I can name a list of VC's that are easier than this. Also, gotta agree with Middie on the odd pattern choices, they just...aren't right. :/

Is it just me, or in the past 2 months, new songs have almost always been one difficulty below what they should be. I had a hard skill drop in the past while, but either it's way worse than I thought it was, or jimerax is judging charts way lower than they should be.

Actually, if you observe the past few months or so, some songs have been underrated as well as overrated for difficulty on many occasions. That's why input from users like you is invaluable. [too bad I can't really do anything about difficulty changes though]

This 10 is ridiculously dense, should be an 11. The first half of the song is a 9, then it jumps up to a mid-high 10, then it goes loloolololololool ridiculously dense jumpstream for a low-mid 11. Insane.

Also the 9 is bullshit. low 10 for sure, and as much as I like the flow of the song, there's some completely bullshit patterns in there.

The 11 is very good, I like it, but it's seriously a low 12. How is this easier than 12 Bar Bloops?

Edit2: Sara I've recently been informed gimmicks and puns in stepcharts are usually a really bad idea. I also will say I wasn't talking about the rolls so much, though they could be trills to in theory. Not trying to dog your chart, I was just trying to give an honest thought. Sorry if it came off as the ladder.
