I remember seeing an Orange Box commercial recently.

I was going to say something along the lines of if I had a better PC I wouldn't have a 360 (except for maybe Ninja Gaiden... because I love that game) but I thought that would derail the thread further.

Actually if you think about it, its better to have a surprise like Zack n Wiki cause you don't expect a good game because of its poor publicity but when you read its reviews and play the game you get shocked =0 and love it
I already told ya...the squirrel did it!!

        Re: Uuh. . . PS3 or Wii. . .?

        I'd suggest the ps3.

I've had a wii since january 2007 and until now they didn't really do any good games. Yes there is the movement thing but after 1 month you'll get used to it and it wont be special anymore and the lack of graphics will come over the gameplay.

Seriously, look at the good games they made since 1 year:

        Zelda Twilight princess
        Mario Strikers charged
Resident Evil 4 (remake from the gamecube -.-)
Metroid Prime (well it was popular but i don<t personally like this game)
        Red steel

That's about it, look at the 360's games...
I don't really know about ps3 but i'd suggest it for graphics

          You guys are awesome. Seriously.

Yeah, let's make Wii the console with no games. Not only that, let's list Red Steel as one of the good games. And that crappy soccer game too. And a re-make of a Gamecube game.

THAT'S ALL THAT HAS BEEN MADE FOR WII. EVERY OTHER GAME IS A LIE.

            Re: Uuh. . . PS3 or Wii. . .?

AH! I forgot, I was going to tell you how Drake's Fortune is.

It's pretty damned good. It's not earth shattering, but it combines the frentic platforming of Prince of Persia with a run'n'gun type system from Winback. There's also some melee combat which is fairly shallow, but very, very nice to look at.

The game, in general, is very pleasing on the eyes, and the water effects are exceptional. It's nifty watching Nathan swim, and then run around. The musculature under his shirt is impressive, and I noticed that his biceps flex when he punches. Nice touch there.

It's moderatley difficult, as people take a lot of shots to kill and the gun play is fun, if not cumbersome. It has the problem of that CoD2 had - enemies keep spawning at the same point until you kill a set number of them. However, most of the enemies are pretty damn intelligent.

The highlight of the game, so far, for me has to be the voice acting. It really is top notch, and gives the game a very cinematic feel.

There's a list of unlockables, as well as... Well, they're not quite "Achievements" like the 360 has, as they are game specific and don't add to a gamer score of any kind, but there are multiple (at least 50) "skill rewards" you can get, which vary from "Get 10 headshots with a pistol" to "Kill 50 enemies in a row without dying" or "Kill 5 enemies while hanging from a ledge."

These unlock weapons, bonus art, and if you're into game development, videos on the production of the game. Which I say, are pretty sweet so far.

Also, the chick that does the voice for Elena is super hot. SUPER hot.

And they should probably make a movie out of this game.

            9/10.

You pretty much mirrored the comments made by every review I read about the game.

It seems pretty solid and it's good enough to chalk up the PS3 exclusives list of good games to "2". Ratchet & Clank being the other one, of course.

One of the videos I unlocked has the actors in mo-cap suits in the top left and right (2 camera setup), a wire-frame version in the bottom left, and the final version in the bottom right. I watched that one twice last night.

Also, because the girl that plays Elena is super hot. She looks better out of the mo-cap suit and in real person clothes, though.

emmm that is messed up (red steel is not a good game, though everything else is awesome) you should probably take a better look at the wii library for example resident evil Umbrella chronicles or no more heroes (coming out soon)

Well here's some games I found for the PS3 (I've been doing my research ^^)

                    -Guitar Hero III
                    -Rock Band
-Present + Future Final Fantasy games (like FF Versus XIII, Zidart )
                    -Assassins Creed (LOVE that game)
                    -Need For Speed Pro Street
                    -Grand Theft Auto IV

Just for say, most of these I've never played. However, I'm always willing to try 'em and so now I have proven that there are indeed not "only, like, two" games on the PS3.

You could say that, but some one noticing that they were on the PS3 as well could say, "All those games are on the PS3 as well." It's just flipped backwards. And I hope you all know, you've gotta give the PS3 credit for graphics. Also, the online gaming isn't so bad either. It's pretty neat because they way they work is that they all feed off power from every console online, pretty much boosting it. And, did I mention? IT'S FREE. Which doesn't stop people from still not preferring the PS3 but I just wanted to say that. I'm just sad because they aren't holding their value as well as the PS2. The PS2 was a big hit. The PS3 was a hit for about a month, then down went the fame. But I still have my own special reasons for liking it.

Just because it's free that doesn't mean that some game developer in the future won't charge for online services.

Which is no big, because the only game I play online at present is CoD4, and that's free.

No. We're talking about exclusives - that is, games you can only get on one console, which is the main reason you'd buy a console in the first place. PS3 has extremely few good exclusives, and are steadily losing their licenses for the ones to come. Wii has some good exclusives and a lot more on the way. 360 has buckets of good exclusives but the better ones end up on PC.

True, except that PS3 is already not preferred because of its cost. The PS3's library/features has to prove that its worth the extra money that it would cost the consumer to get instead of 360.

And I hope you all know, you've gotta give the PS3 credit for graphics.
I have yet to see anything which diffinitively points out how PS3's graphics are better than Xbox 360. All I've seen is side by side screenshots that showed the same racing franchise on both systems, showing the same track and same car, and they looked basically the same as far as graphics go. Also, the graphics on Wii are amazing too... I honestly don't know why so many people put such emphasis on this... Take a look at the early Pixar films (especially Toy Story). Even the Wii has them beat, I'd say, and they're "previous gen level graphics". It's not like we're dealing with blatant polygons here like on N64 or PSX.

Also, the online gaming isn't so bad either.
Neither is the online gaming for Wii or Xbox 360. In fact, the only fault I have on either of them is that they only initially support one form of network (Wii is wifi, 360 is LAN). But that is not a big deal at all if you were already going to network things together, you just have to make your choice based on that, do both, or deal with having to use additional hardware.

But I digress. That's not even what you were getting at. "Online gaming". Yes. Good on both Xbox 360 and Wii.

It's pretty neat because they way they work is that they all feed off power from every console online, pretty much boosting it.
Sorry... no. That is not "neat". It might be ok for certain games, but there is no way in hell I would want my node acting as a server.

And, did I mention? IT'S FREE.
So is Wii. And 360 isn't that expensive either. And the console comes with a free trial.

Which doesn't stop people from still not preferring the PS3 but I just wanted to say that. I'm just sad because they aren't holding their value as well as the PS2. Wrong. The PS2 was a hit, but the PS3 never was. It sold well when it first came out because everyone was buying to resell. I recall it being reported that they actually initially sold more consoles than individual games. Basically, for every console sold, the consumer bought an average of LESS THAN ONE GAME for it. Honestly, I don't see how Sony is still making these. Every console sold is them losing money. They only make money from game sales, and I just don't see how they're selling enough games for it to actually be profitable.

                                Fun fact!

Game developers that put their games solely on the PS3 must sell at least 500,000 units just to break even.

Guess how many games have done that?

I'll give you a hint: you can count them on one hand.

I'll give you another hint: none of them are good games.
