Very, Very Old Bug Now Fixed!

A small one, but a very old one… dating way back to 2003. We all love the cute little dancing white thing in the background video for Party 4 U v2, but sadly the music wouldn’t play when you went to try it again (and the notes would lag). This has been fixed! Big thanks to NSane for the assistance on the fix. No more P4U bug! Yay!

some songs are still a little early or late..
it would be a much better universe if every single song on FFR was perfectly synchronized!!!

I tested this out on ffr. It appears the sync is off by a measure or so, odd because while playing it pre-ffr upload the sync seemed fine. I’ll get a new version to Tass, see if that helps things.

They aren’t fixing “sync” songs, they fixed the background thing….
Like “Fix ball of malt” or something… not “fix synthlight song syncing”.

I don’t think it will affect people AAAing it, because you could still play it again with music (select the song again) plus people will peobably continue to complain about the video and how the stepfile HAS ALL BLUE NOTES ZOMG

Yeah the sync is way worse than it was before now. It’s off by at least a beat. Oh and you guys should try it in fullscreen, it’s trippy.

I’m aware of it being offsync. It wasn’t offsync pre-upload which is the weird thing about it, it must have to do with it being online now, not 100% sure. We are working on fixing this as well. Be patient :].

rondo is offbeat because the music has all kinds of tempo changes and fermatas, while the stepfile is just constant
caprice only has a couple offbeat notes near the beginning

Posting again to say that it’ll make songs you HAVEN’T AAA’d yet easier to AAA… also it may make people who already AAA it and have not much of a choice left between songs to play the crappy sync’d files in new sync, thus making things a little more fun…
I always thought it was a selfish way to think saying “it’ll be easier to AAA now”. It’s just a game… things will always get easier when things are harder than they are supposed to be… Usually.

guys. we’re well aware of the songs that are offsync… this wasn’t a fix for that. this was a fix for the replay bug on P4U that caused the level to lag and have no music upon replay. and now we’re working on fixing the sync for it post-fix. this isn’t about song sync. stuff like Rondo won’t be fixed…

but the really annoying thing about P4U v2. it’s the blue and white background flashing up each seacond with blue arrows, that makes impossible to play in some parts of the song (at least in my opinion)
