Songs of the Week (April 12th, 2012)
FFR is at it again, and we have four more awesome files for you this week:
First on the list is Canary Part V, stepped by veteran player One Winged Angel. While nowhere as brutal as the file that battered top players in the 6th Dragon’s Fury Custom Tournament, this file still packs a mean punch. Anyone in the mood for a new file that will leave your fingers smoking, look no further than this For Gurus Only-rated monster. Additionally, congratulations to One Winged Angel for his first file in FFR!
Next in line is teraholic, from Japanese artist 44teru-k. This song delivers a high-energy hardstyle beat with difficult steps to match, courtesy of 00Razor00. This marks his second file in FFR- let’s hope for many more to come!
Our third file is a piano remix of the Mario Kart Wii Rainbow Road theme, performed by FFR member Zorsy. Be sure to check out his Youtube channel and watch him play this song and many others on video!
The final offering for you this week is Blackout, by FFR standby artist The Flashbulb. Though the steps have been created by master arrowsmasher AlexDest and the artist is well known for his intense IDM songs, this chart weighs in at a modest "Easy" difficulty. Anyone will be able to enjoy tapping along to this relaxing, Beethoven-esque piano composition.
As a final note, this week all four files are public- for the time being, the Veteran’s Song system is no more.

First of all, congratulations to Zyphoror for dominating the contest
to get the largest combo on Nyancat this week with a staggering
11,232 combo!.
Congratulations are also in order for WSCB‘s 2nd place 5,793 combo and bmah‘s 3rd place 4,572 combo. You guys are all absolutely nuts, enjoy your new token FREEDOM DiVE!!
In other news. Some of you will remember that before FFR took its extra long winter in 2009, we had 3 Support Tokens. Dendrite v2, Coactive [Over my shoulder mix] & Tell v3. Back then, users could purchase a downloadable album and receive an exclusive token as a bonus for their support. When FFR returned in 2010, subscriptions and the Support Tokens were no more 
Enter 2012. Now, I know a lot has been happening on the front page lately regarding contests, extra files and give-aways. But enough is never enough! So our Easter gift to you is releasing the new public requirements for unlocking these 3 previously unattainable tokens!! All of the details can be located in this thread, which is conveniently where you need to supply proof to gain the tokens. The system for these isn’t automated as yet, but that isn’t stopping us from giving you guys something else to unlock and play!!
Mini SponCon:
As an added incentive to see people have a go at these requirements, I’m going to throw 20k credits each to the first 10 people to unlock each requirement. Winners will need to supply proof in the thread, so read the first post carefully! If you are one of the lucky people that already possess these tokens, you are still eligible for the credits in this SponCon. Also, the first person to show proof of unlocking/completing all 3 sets of requirements will net themselves a total of 100k credits, including winnings from the first 10 of each (if applicable).

Songs of the Week (April 6th, 2012)
For the piano and classical fans out there, we have a special treat for you this week. A special collection of 3 experimental and original piano pieces, composed by Canadian musician Nick Perrin and stepped by one of our frequent stepartists MarioNintendo. This will see his 8th-10th files in-game, and hopefully the first 10 of many, many more.

April Fools Day Winners~
Wow guys, just wow… Breaking 17 million arrows in 24hrs hasn’t happened in a LOOOONG time. Good work 
We had a lot of rivalries throughout the day. GTS was heavily contested in the 2nd/4th places for quite a while, and it was pretty obvious that no-one was catching Jerry DB on his attempt of breaking the all time #1 Grand Total list.
I am very pleased with how many people logged in and had a go, some people that got onto the top ten GTS didn’t even start until lunchtime! All in all it was a fun event that has inevitably given a whole lot of people sore hands for their Monday/Tuesday.
So without further delay, here are your winners!~

The top ten for the daily Grand Total Scores were a combined 7.7 Billion points!!! With the 10th spot being seperated from 8th by only 2.5 million, and plenty of places changing in the final minutes. Our 6th place get V-Ormix managed to swipe his 3rd token for the day at 11:59pm server time, making the 700 million milestone by less than a minute and 70,000 points. And lastly, our copycat and equal 2nd place winners were following each other point for point from 800,000,000. (yes, they were exactly on 800 million…) Elite Ninja & magicturbo finished up with an insane 832 million each.
Congrats to you all for getting over 600 million and landing a credit/token prize for your efforts. (you are all nuts )
The remainder of the credit prizes were for the top 3 in each of the categories below. Some early competition regarding games played and AAAs was rather entertaining to watch, qqwref came out with an amazing strategy that saw him rack up over 1000 games per hour which soon spread to the others vying for a top 3 spot. I’ve included the screencap of the top 5 in each category below.
Most Perfects: 50,000 credits – Jerry DB, 30,000 credits – Elite Ninja & 20,000 credits – V-Ormix
Most Games: 50,000 credits – reuben_tate, 30,000 credits – qqwref & 20,000 credits – 8 Hour Whore
Most AAAs: 50,000 credits – reuben_tate, 30,000 credits – flash dualist & 20,000 credits – Tattsu
All in all we awarded 1,035,000 credits, 9 vRofl tokens and 12 others, FREEDOM DiVE being the most popular unlock.

So April Fools Day is here!! Today we have a spontaneous game-whore contest for a prizepool of
ONE MILLION+ credits!!! & as many tokens as we can possibly give out!!!
We are celebrating the 5th anniversary since the inception of Vertex Beta vRofl. As most of you know, to get this token, you must place in the top 8 of an Official Tournament. Other ways of unlocking involve achieving either 50 Billion Grand Total Score or 1 Billion in a day. So we have decided to reduce this to 500 million for the day, with additional tokens available for each 100 million after that!! (see below for prize breakdown)

The 1,010,000 credit prize pool involves the following.
Top 10 GTS at the end of the day will recieve 150k, 100k, 75k, 70k, 65k, 60k, 55k, 50k, 45k & 40k
