I prefer the Wii. I mean, the PS3 is going to come out with something to keep them alive, but, it going to be hard this year because the Wii is going to be selling with their new games, and especially around Fall and Winter.

Wii is probably doing great because its a novalty... just like pokemon, tomoguchi or magic the gathering. ITs conceptual design is awsome and nintendo really out did themselves.

In the long run... PS3 will be batter though. Wii can only do so much with the concept of interaction from my belief. Hell Ill never get it unless xenosaga 4 comes out for it and even that... I would only buy wii for that game... but wii in the long run will turn out nothing special in the long run. PS3 got the RPG's that everyone will fall in love with. PS3 is doing horrible now probably because all the great games comming out is still PS2 since sony knows that no one would scramble for a PS3 being 600$... but just wait.

Also, people are always saying how great the graphics are, but here is something.
Yesterday, I was at Gamestop, and there was a 360 and a PS3 set up with the same game.
It was a football game.
The TVs were exactly the same.
And the Xbox 360 version looked waaaaaay better.
On the PS3 version, it looked choppy, and the pixels were too big.\
And this was the EXACT SAME GAME.



PS: Wii will always beat out the PS3, because someday, people will realize that the Wii IS NOT just some novelty.
The Wii has ORIGINAL GAMES.
PS3 has all rip offs and remakes, and ****ty sports games.
And Square Enix is not going to make FF games exclusively for Sony anymore.
They probably got sick of Sony making stupid decisions.

Oh, it turns out that you can't even get a used copy of Ocarina of Time for either N64 or Gamecube for less than $35. Super Mario 64 will set you back at least $20. Paper Mario is way up there at $40! And the original Super Smash Bros. is past the $30 range as well!

To buy all four of these would set me back about $150-200. Not including shipping. OR, I could just pay $40 and have all four. Decide for me. I'm too tired.

Have YOU tried buying an N64/SNES/NES cart recently? You'll pay more than $10 for good games on N64, more than $6 for good games on SNES (Chrono Trigger is what, $50? more?), and more than $4 for good games on NES. If you can even find them anywhere. They're priced just fine.

Though I'd never buy them.

I payed $50 for EarthBound, probably one of my favorite games for the SNES.

I am with Squeek, if I were to buy a PS3 it would mainly be for the WiFi internet. I have played some games like Resistance and Enchanted Arms, both of them were fun, but I have always been a Nintendo Person and still play some of my old dusty Super NES - NES - N64 Games.

Instead of constantly arguing over the flaws of each system and attempting to prove one consoles superiority over the others, how about this...

Do you own research and decide which system would be best for YOU. Some people like "generic" games and features, some like to play something different and unique. Why people feel the need to try to convince others that the games and systems they prefer to play suck is beyond my comprehension.

I try to convince people not to buy a PS3 because they buy it on impulse and a few months later they figure out they wasted $600 and want to sell it but can't because nobody else wants it either.

When I worked in retail, our "product" was custom picture framing. Orders ranged from $20 to $2000 (not even remotely kidding. Just for one frame.). If there was an opportunity to save a customer a bit of money, whether that was just a few bucks or several hundred dollars, I would do it. And I'd be telling them that I was doing it the whole time.

So in essence, I screwed my own company out of thousands of dollars without profiting from it in the least. All because my interests in the spending of others extended that far.

The only reason for the high price is because those games are on catridges. An expensive form of storage which helped the PS1 expand in place of a nintendo console.

Let's break this down ok.

The PS3 is rapidly increasing in sales and is making a vast improvement. This coming fall and winter have godly releases for the PS3. Not only that the 60GB version of the PS3 is now 499 when it was previously 599. Your bluray statement is pretty pointless null and void when considering EVERY developer that has developed for the X360 has complained about the little amount of storage space that is on DVD9's. Team Ninja and millions of other developers have stated Blu-ray is greatly appreciated. Not only that Blu-ray is outselling HD-DVD on 3 to 1 basis now and blu-ray has more support, plus blockbuster's don't even carry HD-DVD but they do in fact, carry blu-ray.

Also Sony made there console much better than Microsofts. Need I even mention how many 360's have red ringed? I'm sure some1 who is reading this post has experienced a failed X360.

Guess what the football game you were talking about is Madden. Madden is developed by EA. EA ports EVERYTHING. EA has even stated that the PS3 version of Madden runs at 30 FPS compared to 60 fps that the 360 version has because they couldn't get the game to run right using the code they created. The problem with the game YOU are looking at comes from the developers and not from the power of the PS3.

Ok I agree all sports are ****ty. But they exist on every platform imaginable thanks to money hording publishers like EA. The PS3 has SEQUELS and not rip offs and it has yet to have a remake of any game.

And your comment on Square Enix. They never did make games exclusively, the only reason they did it in the past was because Sony paid them for timed exclusivity. They did it with FF7 which originally was supposed to be launched on the N64 but thanks to Nintendo using outdated storage capacity and carts only holding under 60mb's SE decided to take up a deal with Sony. Thus the FF7 we know today has FMV movies and characters have block hands because it was supposed to be ran on the N64. If you don't believe me look at the Tech demo Squaresoft showed back at E3 some years of FF7 then read up on it.

Now for the PS2 era they never even signed anything with Sony, they created it for the Sony system on there own free will. With the major reason being is that the PS2 was DOMINATING everywhere and the only other console capable was the Xbox. But the XBox sells like garbage in japan thus little to no rpgs are ever released for the platform.

It's ironic how you know so little but talk so loudly.

I showed that while it'll cost $40 for Paper Mario, you can snag Wave Race, Pokemon Snap, Cruis'n World, etc. for under $5.

In fact, I went to the overpriced GameStop and bought Pokemon Snap for $2. Because it was just that awesome of a game.

I actually did visit them. Let's be honest, you got Pokemon Snap for 2$ in Gamestop. Where was this game? Oh, most likely in a Bargain bin. Low price? Because since it isn't a high as selling game like paper mario it takes up space in the gamestop show floor in the USED bin thus they offer it at a loss to clean up space. Which is the same reason why they rip people off when people trade in games because there is huggge chance that the game they are receiving won't ever be sold.

Talk to someone who works at gamestop. It's the truth.

Three of four years ago the Gamecube already had 5 years on the N64 and Pokemon snap was 2 years old. It's completely possible you got it for 2$ and not in the bargain bin but it's also possible they were already making way for nintendo's newest system the gameacube thus the bargain price.

You know what I hate about what you said here? Your definition of 'original'. You imply that games can't be original if they're sequels. You cannot tell me that Super Mario Sunshine was not original. It stemmed from a totally different concept, using the water jet to make the game different and fun. Sure it had the Mario-style "Collect the stars/shines" concept, but that's the background of the play and doesn't define how fun it is to actually go and collect those shines through unique levels and gameplay. The Paper Mario series was also a Mario game, but I would more than definitely call it original.
Sequels would not be sequels without originality, they would just be the same game. The games get better each time, and the experience changes, so people buy the new game because that is what it is, a new game, whether Mario stars in it or not. The only thing I'd say is very repetitive is Mario Party, but even so that is only a single spinoff out of several.
With Nintendo we see the things like Mario morphing itself into different concepts, even different genres. Sure, simply having the Mario name on it gives it a few extra copies sold, but that hardly makes up the reason of why people actually buy it. At least Mario doesn't stick to one boring genre.
I've had quite enough of shooting opposing enemies, whether it's aliens, germans, or zombies. Switching the thing I'm shooting at and what I'm shooting it with does not make the game more fun to me.
People are always mentioning how the Wii will get old in a while. And it will, without a doubt. And so will the 360, and so will the PS3. That is why we move up in the generations, is it not? This is why games do not remain repetitive. But which company do you see striving to actually bring these new experiences to us? The one and only company that has brought touch, motion sensing, and family into the gaming world, no matter how many games hold the word 'mario' in the title.
