Ok, I have a Xbox 360 AND a Wii.
I got Xbox 360, because of the clearly superior FPS and TPS (Gears of War).
I got the Wii because its clearly superior potential and originality.
Super Paper Mario was awesome.
Elebits is insanely fun (stuck on missions 21, grrr.)
Its gonna have Smash Brothers Brawl, which will revolutionize fighting games like SSBM did.
Twilight Princess was AMAZING.



for 360:
Gears Of War is awesome.
There is the XBL arcade game Geometry wars, which i s crazy addicting and fun, but that is going on the Wii, which I am looking forward to.
Oblivion is a great RPG.

GOodforSKATEboarding your not completely wrong but there are some people who don't get the HD and other things for the 360 and just make due with what they have. Also Squeek you do know that they are coming with a new cheaper PS3 right? sure it'll only have 3- gigs but it will be up to par with the CURRENT xbox 360 in price, playability and other aspects, i say current because i don't know of Microsoft's future plan. Apart from all that may i mention that the PS3's online is FREE, no money needed, after you buy the xbox 360 lets say someone who uses the online has to pay, within about a 5 month period that would equal up to a current PS3's price. Lag issues are even being currently addressed and have gotten better since the PS3 is only using about 30% of its potential and personally i haven't experienced any online issues. I will agree on however that the current titles for Xbox 360 are better than the PS3's since it's not being used to it's full potential and has some lame titles but then again as someone mentioned earlier in the thread the Xbox 360's titles weren't the best in the beginning either which is why i said that this would be a better discussion in the future despite there being fanboy's because then many more facts could be ironed out.

You too, are partially incorrect. The PS3 is currently using around 20% of its power. Xbox live is $5 a month, so I don't believe in a 5 month period that you'd equal a PS3's price tag, but yes the PS3's free online subscription beats that just the same. Also the new PS3 is 80 gigs, and is $600, while the 60 gig console dropped to $500. As for the HD statement, yes I am aware that some people don't have HDTVs and some don't care about it, however this generation of consoles were built to preform in HD, all of them.

DS - the first handheld with two screen and three different input mechanisms: buttons, touch screen, and microphone. PS3: Motion sensing. Wii: Motion sensing, infrared pointing, full six axis tilt in 360 degrees.

I mean, it's clear to me what the consumers want. I don't know if it's clear to you. In a month or two, the Wii will pass the 360 in worldwide sales while remaining at two or three times the overall sales of the PS3 after launching after both the PS3 and the 360--the 360 by a whole year. The DS is selling faster than the PS2 ever has and STILL sells out EVERY WEEK in Japan. As does the Wii pretty much everywhere in the world.

Yeah, I find the selling out all the time kinda frustrating.
I have been trying to get a hold of a DS for a while now, but Best Buy, Gamestop, and EB Games are all sold out.

The Core is a complete waste of money, despite the fact that you don't like playing online, the majority of people enjoy this feature. The core not only doesn't have the harddrive, but it also doesn't have the components, which you have stated you don't care about HD, so for you that might not matter, but again, many people are very enthused with HD and like to get their moneys worth from their consoles. Nowhere in my previous messages have I said that it is ALL about HD, although I do remeber saying that the consoles all boast their HD capabilities. In that little display of funtions you have I don't see anything about the 360, but I for one know that the number one thing that they boast is their HD capabilites, it was the first console to be in complete HD, which many consumers seem to want, heck, I think they know what they are paying for, don't you?

The difference between 720p and 1080p is negligible. If you don't have a trained eye, if you're not sitting three feet or closer to the screen, or if your TV is smaller than 80 inches, you won't notice any difference.

Human vision has limitations. Technology may be advancing, but people need to realize it's all a waste of money. You cannot distinguish 1080p from 720p with general consumer products.

I agree. I personally have never seen a huge enough difference in HD to convince me to fork over a huge amount of cash to get it.

Although you may not be able to distinguish that little of a difference, I for one can tell you there is a visible difference between 1080p and 480i. My gaming tv is only 32" and I can tell you that much.

I would personally take the Wii over the PS3. The number of problems I've heard the PS3 having just makes it seem not worthwhile to me right now.

You know there is another console for this generation called the XBox 360? The one with actually GOOD games and a big library? The one with the best online service? The one that costs less?

the person who made this thread, and the only one i was talking to a t first, asked either wii, or ps3.

there was no 360 involved.
and ps3 online is WAY better.......now anyway.

the wii is far more better than the ps3, because it doens't matter what kind of gamer you are, there is a game for every kind, for the ps3 (and out of the topic, 360) there is only shooters and some beat them all (and some other types) but overall the only must-have games for some people i imagine are shooters.
