MFA? WTF is an MFA?
Tonight I will be giving you guys and gals a sneak peak at a little something special. It’s the thing above this post that shows a huge RITHUM logo.
It’s important to note that this MFA player is not meant for FFR. It is designed to work within the new Rithum.com and for artists and bands on myspace itself. It is here because I value your input more than you know.
Also, the FFR widget is currently being stripped out of this MFA and replaced with a brand new widget game, which we will be posting on the front page sometime here today. Of course the new game deserves an amazing artist and we will deliver on that front as well.
Play, listen, test and enjoy. It will be gone tomorrow.

***P.S.*** I wanted to mention that FFRock is currently being implemented into the MFA and is being wired up so that it displays the correct data. Later tonight we are going to announce the first group to use the FFRock style widget. There are hints out there if you care to look around the web.

Zoogarama, can I ask specifically why you think it should be smaller? You have to imagine this player *ON* myspace. You dig? It is not typically meant to be on FFR at all.

*Update* We are switching in a completely new rhythm game into the MFA tonight. We won’t dissapoint. Until then the existing FFR widget in this MFA will be partially disabled. Ignore.

Wow, this is an amazing little gagdet you guys have made. I love the More Features menu bar – very sleek. Everything flows together very well. And that’s a hell of a name you guys landed for the launch. One thing I’d like explained is the connection to rithum.com. Is that website going to be a hub for all widgets and affiliated information on the bands? …I’m sure you’ll tell us when you want us to know anyway.
The instant embedding feature is so GUI you could get parents putting this in their myspaces. It’s awesome.
The only critique I have is on the game. Perhaps it was just the bpm on the song but I didn’t like the noteskin, and I thought the arrows looked jagged along the edges. Also, the final score report looked kind of amateurish. I would add more song information, maybe slide the report up from the bottom and keep the background from the song instead of the drab color there now. You might have to experiment with colors to draw the eye to the report instead of to the background in that case, but I think it would be worth it.

Hm…I don’t know synth, I think it’s starting to grow on me now. Although I think it would be nice to have the option to minimize the thing since it sometimes messes with my computer whenever I load a page sometimes. Other than that it is really cool but I think you may want to consider giving us the option the minimize the thing.

zoo, remember that this won’t normally be on FFR. I have essentially enlisted the legions of FFR peeps to help me beta test this thang.
Also, TSB, the autoplay is configurable on the band side. This would normally be on a myspace page or special section / music profiles at Rithum.com where you would want auto-play turned on.

The player itself is good but if it were to be on a page (of any site), it should be way smaller and not on the very top.

I stated my opinions of this player last night in chat. You know how I stand. I’m happy that it’s going to be gone tomorrow.
It would look cool on myspace, Even though I don’t have one. I think that myspace should stay looking like myspace though, and FFR should stay and look like a gaming site, not another FFR. To be honest, It REALLY bugs me when people make accounts on here and never play a single game, just so they could ‘flirt’ with other people from FFR. The whole point of FFR is for the games, whatever they may be. Adding services that do not relate to the game might attract more myspacers than people who want to play the game.
Just a thought.
And good luck with the whole branching-out thing staff.

If you are asking me;
I wasn’t directly commenting on FFRock when I was talking about the additional services. In my opinion, adding a surplus of features that attract non-gamers will just make this site overly popular for the wrong reasons.
But it is all about getting the word out I guess.
Whatever pleases the staff. Maybe I’m not a big fan of change. It just takes some getting used to, seeing as I didn’t really like the new layout and over time I’ve grown to like it.
Good luck on whatever you choose to do with your advertising guys. I’ll support you nomatter what, even if I might not agree with it.
