Happy New Year!

Posted in Flash Flash Revolution on January 1st, 201712 Comments »

Happy new year to all of you keysmashers. 2016 proved to be a great year for the game on a number of fronts – a huge amount of file judgments completed, a number of great game updates, and of course, we had our 11th Official FFR tournament, which proved to be a more punishing than normal endeavor for most of you. But with that, the 2016 page of FFR’s book has been turned.

To open 2017 for FFR, we’re releasing a song that is familiar to most of you: Our Journey and Epilogue. by aaaa. “But wait, isn’t that in game already?” Yes, bmah graced FFR with his great chart, but it’s for a shorter version. Today, we bring you a chart for the entire composition, in all of its 5:47 glory. The chart should feel somewhat familiar to most players – it’s relatively close in difficulty to the original, but is more technical from start to finish and requires more focus to piece together.

Our Journey and Epilogue.
Musician: aaaa
Step Artist: YoshL
Genre: Game Music
Difficulty: 94
Song Length: 5:47

FFRMas Conclusion

Thank you all for your continued patience on the results and prize distribution of FFRMas prizes! I’ve got everything tabulated out for you guys and it will all be paid out to you tonight.

On day 11 of FFRMas, I announced that there would be a raffle for three chances to win the more elusive Event tokens (FREEDOM DiVE and The Wises Were Wrong).

The winners of that raffle are: MarcusHawkins, MikeShinoda12345, and sickufully. If you have both tokens already, or don’t desire the tokens (i.e. you’re an R^3 player and can’t play The Wisest Were Wrong), feel free to say as such and I’ll give you 25,000 credits instead.

lurker/evil smoke: You did not designate a specific token for your prize on the corresponding FFRMas day, so you can feel free to drop that in here as well.

Again, happy new year, everyone!

With the exception of lurker/evil smoke and their token selections, all prizes for FFRMas have been paid out.

Submission Rules/Guidelines Addendum

Posted in Flash Flash Revolution on November 1st, 20163 Comments »

Hey there, everyone! With the November/December batch period beginning, we wanted to introduce and familiarize simfile artists with rule changes regarding file submissions. These new changes and additions are put into place for the purpose of improving clarity within some ambiguous areas of the file submission process, as well as tying up some loose issues that we have been seeing over the past few years.

Click here to read the changes, or click the image above to go to the Rules/Submission Guidelines thread and join the conversation.

New Years Update: Change of Leadership

Posted in Flash Flash Revolution on January 1st, 201629 Comments »

Greetings FFR, and a happy new years!

To those who do not know who I am, hello there and a pleasure it is! I was the primary point of contact, system administrator, and lead developer for FFR over the last few years. I haven’t made it out into the open very much in recent history, so I don’t blame you for wondering who this dude is.

I will start my bit with a huge thank you to all of the staff who put up with the first few years of my presence, and for you all taking my rise to lead in stride. I tried my best for the majority of the time I headed the operation, but I think it’s time for some new fresh energetic leaders to take control.

A thank you to those of you who enjoyed the radio broadcasts with me, and who spent long hours in prochat discussing, among other things, your opinion on FFR and its future. I would name names, but I spoke to so many of you that I would forget at least half I’m sure. The things we spoke of were written down though, and still remain in the pool of ideas for the future, so don’t worry.

As of the summer I unofficially stepped down from my position. I hung around on behest of our benefactor, but about a month ago I decided to move on. That’s all.

It is with great pleasure that I officiate your new primary arrow in the sky. PrawnSkunk! I have been showing him the low level ropes of the server over the last few months, and I believe he is qualified enough to step into my shoes–as I stepped into apersons so long ago. Please join me in a warm congratulations to PrawnSkunk, and the best for the coming years. Best of luck to you, the entire community, in keeping the legend alive.

Cheers,
Zageron

P.S. A final goodbye for those who thought I had a good taste in music. :)

Hello FFR, PrawnSkunk here!

It has been close to eight years since I joined Flash Flash Revolution, and I have been developing site features for almost a year now. Zageron has been my good friend, and the person who gave me the opportunity to volunteer as a programmer. Thank you Zageron for all the work you’ve put in over the years, and good luck with your future endeavors! Right now we have a team of talented staff working hard to push this game to continue to grow. I look forward to leading the next generation of keysmashers!

Question to Users Regarding the Official Tournament

Posted in Flash Flash Revolution on May 1st, 201510 Comments »

Hey all, now that it’s May I’ve been thinking ahead to the official tournament. As you know we’ve been doing all new files for every round in each division for the last I believe it’s 5 tournaments now. As you know, this has sometimes caused delays in the past. So I wanted to ask all of you, do you think it’s necessary to stay with all brand new files in all rounds? Or use already in game files and do new files for the final round? Open to any other suggestions you all may have as well. I’ve created a poll, so please go vote there and leave a post about why you chose that option so I have a better idea of how the community feels about this topic. You can find the poll here.

EDIT I’ve heard you guys loud and clear on wanting new content. I’m going to to my best to get new content and still kick the tournament off at a good time. Simfile authors out there, I’m going to need your help. For the current batch please try to submit files that you think would be fitting for the tournament. We also tend to lack in the lower and higher range. So try to get things in that are say from 15 to the 50 range for the low side and 80+ for the high side. If these things get submitted into this batch there will be a better chance of filling the slots needed. Let’s all work together and make this happen!

Thanks in advance!
