holy crap wtf? How did I get seered red? I'm human guys, for srs.
Well, it usually works like this:
1. Seer chooses player x to seer.
2. Night ends/Day begins.
3. Host sends Seer a PM telling him of the results of the seering.
4. Seer tells everyone assuming his identity is known.
Well, there's only three things I can think of that's causing this:
1. I'm a wolf (which I know I'm not, but that's not gonna cut it for the rest of you)
2. Xception isn't really the seer (which is slim; hell atm I think he's the seer because of a lack of counterclaims)
3. Some item that screws with the seer readings, and it got used tonight.
So, I'm thinking it's option 3. There's no way the real seer could've seered me red unless something interfered with the results.
Let's talk about Option 3. (yes there's a tl;dr version at the end)
The rules for the items seem to be that once used (and they have to be used), the user of that item chooses to pass it to someone. This means that if there's an item that corrupts the seering, it can be used over and over again, rendering the role of Seer useless, which is extremely unlikely and ill-advised on the host's part.
Then there's the possibility it's a one-time use item. If it is, then the first person who gets it has to use it? That hardly sounds likely. Or do they get to keep it until a night they deem most wise to use it? If that's the case, why night 1?
There's also the possibility that it IS a one-time use item, but triggers automatically the first time the seer seers someone red. That just sounds ridiculous to me, but that is possible.
In any case, the benefit of lynching someone who was seered red and is a wolf far outweighs the downside involved in lynching someone who was seered red but is human.
tl;dr version:
Possibilities of an item interfering with the seering seem extremely slim. In any case, you all know how it goes. Unless there's solid proof of the seeree(red) being something other than wolf occurs, the seeree(red) dies by lynch.
In any case, the benefit of lynching someone who was seered red and is a wolf far outweighs the downside involved in lynching someone who was seered red but is human.
I agree, since it is more than likely that if there was such an item, there'd only be one of them, and it would be one use, for the reasonings you stated, and as such eliminating one human shouldn't hurt the team in the long run. But, I disagree just because it involves killing me ;_;
Oh well. Do what you guys want; there's not much else I can do about it at this point.
I should probably explain why I picked Kirth anyway.
I've played numerous games with Kirth in the past, and I fully acknowledge his skill in reasoning things out and simultaneously staying low so as to not draw wolf attention. I figured he would be a great ally to have.
If you don't believe me, check out the MegaTWG Postgame topic ... the log shows that when I was Lone Wolf, I picked Kirth to use my ability on, then changed it when circumstances changed, but my original choice was Kirth.
