I think Charu suffers a bit from the replacement because he wasn't in the thread during the motions. I feel like if he was here since the beginning, he might have felt different.

Please don't make the game more difficult than it needs to be. Building this situation was already difficult in the first place.

I ain't making it difficult, from where I'm at, having read the thread with the flipped context, I was under the impression the entire time they were the last wolf (especially after I pointed out [as others did as well] that one post trust falling you).

However, they are being completely emotional right now, downright bringing in topics that are very unrelated to the game and are instead showcasing their desire to be a part of a game only to be met with, well, this situation.

You don't just post that as a new player who happens to be a wolf without a partner giving advice. The recent large post they just made was by their own volition.

If you seriously think there's a possible wolf there still, then I don't know what to tell you.

As I said, that felt like that came from the heart.

Hey. I'm back. Sorry for getting so emotional yesterday. I think I'm in a better headspace now, so I'll try to keep contributing.

As far as any potential trust falls offered to me, I have to think about whether or not something along those lines benefits town, and how much it does.

Firstly, I wouldn't accept a trust fall from Lar, raeko, or roundbox, because I'm still confident the wolf is between one of those three. That's a risk I'm not willing to take. Secondly, Haku has made it abundantly clear that there is no scenario in which he and I trust fall together, and that is completely understandable. If I were in his position, I wouldn't trust fall with me either.

That leaves Charu. With Haku giving him an out, and him not immediately taking it to win the game, I have to believe Charu is confirmed town. If Charu gives me an offer and I accept it, Charu and I leave the game, Haku stays in as a mechanically cleared town, and Lar, raeko, and roundbox essentially have to make cases to Haku for who gets to leave with him. It's a 2 in 3 chance of getting it right, which, given how this game has gone, feels pretty good to me. If I don't accept it, or if Charu doesn't give me an offer, then I stay in the game as last town. Charu can leave with Haku, I would refuse to make or accept any trust fall offers with the three of them, and it's up to the two town players to find each other. It'd be 50/50.

Ultimately, despite me saying last night that I never trust fall with Charu, I have to believe town's chances of winning are better if Charu and I leave together. But I don't get to make that decision. If Charu is willing to take the risk, then I would accept. If not, then town still has a path forward, and I'm 100% okay with that too.

Haku, I want to start with you because I have to start with you. Trust Falls are serious business. Trust is a serious and very important thing for professionals. And we are professionals. You will be a professional soon too, a certified paper professional. I'm leading this exercise to teach you that it's ok to trust. It is.

Now, you came to me. You had concerns. You laid them out very carefully, very thoroughly. Some of them were laminated. I don't know if you did that yourself or had help but the lamination quality was excellent. I want to acknowledge that. It was even better than mine, and I'm the paper professional. I almost want to fire you because of how great the lamination was, but I'll settle for you moving to Scranton.

Anyway, I read every word on your laminated pages. I really did.

You know who you remind me of? Dwight. My number two. My right-hand man. The guy who is always, always warning me about something. "Michael, don't trust the temp." "Michael, the building is a fire hazard." "Michael, you cannot legally declare yourself a notary public." And nine times out of ten, Dwight is right. Completely right. I ignore him and I... usually end up in a situation. I get out of it fine, because I'm a professional and I'm suave and I have charisma and people like me, but still. That is not the point.

The point is that today is the billionth time that you cannot find trust.

Because Charu walked in here (late, mind you) as a replacement, as a lawyer, and he read the situation in approximately four minutes. He looked at everything that had happened. He looked at Charmoeleon. He looked at the whole board. And then he just... went.

"I trust Charmoeleon."

Just like that.

And here is what is beautiful about that. Charmoeleon had a rough night. He really did. He showed up the next day and he said: here is where I'm at. Here is what I see. Here is what I'm willing to do. He didn't have to do that. He could have shut down. Gone quiet. Instead he came back in and laid it all out. Calm. Clear. Honest.

I know that feeling. I've had that night. I'm not going to say which specific night because HR has a file on several of them and Toby has flagged at least three of them for followup and now Jan doesn't even want to talk to me and neither does Holly so I really shouldn't even be bringing this up.The point is you know who you are when you come back. You know what you're made of.

And Charu saw it. No binder. No laminated concerns. He just looked at Charmoeleon and he knew. He fell for Charmoeleon.

and Charmoeleon caught him. No fuss. No trust concerns. Just instantly caught him.

I said your name differently this time. You hear the difference? Last time I said it like I was reading a fire safety violation. This time I'm saying it like someone who loves you and is your family and is like a sweet father for you and needs you to know that being wrong sometimes is not a bad thing. Being wrong sometimes means you cared enough to have a strong opinion. That is not nothing. That is actually something.

You were trying to protect this office. And that is admirable. That is just you, being you.

It just wasn't what was needed today.
