TWG Turbo 41: Trust Fall! [GAME THREAD]

I cannot speak for Lar, but I can tell you this from my perspective...Let's start at the beginning here

The game started at approximately 22:00 Thursday May 14th, 2026....

Surely Shado has told you this at SOME POINT (Is this angleshooting?? I don't think it is????), but if he has not, there is no possible way you could have known this as a general thing in our little TWG community: We have a VERY gross history of players signing up for games, rolling wolf, and not playing...Thus town self destructs and shits the bed.

Now that you are aware of that, you haven't said anything up until now for a whopping three days, and in under less than 10 posts, you initiated a trust fall with Sunfan, who is, at least to me in my opinion, one of the top town players in my little circle...

I think you can see where this wouldn't look too good if you are indeed town.

My reaction is because I had Sunfan under suspension of being he wolves and you offering up a trust fall would be disastrous for town if that was true

It also seemed like maybe you reach your conclusion a little too hasty?

i hope my context from my other post explains why i felt more inclined to offer trust.

i do understand now where all the shock came from, especially since i came out of the spirit realm today. i was not lurking beforehand, nor was i intentionally being withholding. i genuinely have just been swamped at work but today is my first free day where i can dedicate my time to the game.

for context: i had just sat and read hundreds of messages, and consistently i noticed the messages i found myself aligning with the most were yours. not to mention, wolfe has historically always had great things to say about you, which leaves me with a little bias.

So I tend to agree with everyone that your decision seemed a bit hasty. Is there a reason you were so afraid of yourself being partnerless and didn't trust that somebody else would make a partnership??

oh i don't mind pedancy. i used the phrase because you know your way around the game, how to sus people out, how to maneuver. meanwhile, i'm a quick learner and easily adaptable. figured that'd make a good pairing, we could keep each other safe.

Yes that is true, it would have been randomized. But if you were wrong and a wolf was out of the game that wouldn't be worth it, falling on the sword for everyone else isn't a really good idea in this setup

Let's say I am a wolf and Galax is town. I just sit on her offer, maybe even eventually decline it, and for what?
The way wolves win is by both of them leaving the thread. The most damage I can do to town is by leaving as a wolf. I have already had the opportunity to gain as much as I can possibly gain. The rest would just be WIFOM from then on.

This isn't a trick; it is very hard for me to read Haku (basically impossible, actually) or Lewdy as a wolf. Lar admitted defeat for the most part and said I can only be with an afk partner.

I don't understand why this is not also where your head is at.

Hakulyte. Buddy. Can we talk? Charmoeleon trusted you. He really, genuinely trusted you. And you looked at that trust, and you looked at Charmoeleon, and you said, "no thank you, I do not want that."

Now it's hard not to take that a little personally because trust is sort of my whole thing that I came here to teach and if everyone is set on just walking around rejecting it then what am I even doing here. I drove six hours. I went through four toll booths. I had Sonic tots but they were not that good. Scott's Tots will always be better. Not that I eat them. That's disgusting. Althought honestly maybe that would have been better than what I did to them. I've made some empty promises in my life, but hands down, that was the most generous. Anyway.

What I am trying to say is that this workshop only works if people are willing to open themselves up and right now, Hakulyte, you are closed off. You are a closed person. And I say that not to be mean but because somebody needs to say it and everybody else in this room is too polite (except for Lar, but I shouldn't talk about a client like that).

We are ZERO for TWO trust offers now and, well, that should inspire some introspection. I'm not going to make a big thing out of this. I'm not. That is not what today is about and I am a professional and I am going to act like one. But I do think somebody needs to sit with Hakulyte at lunch today and just... check in. See what's going on in there. Because something is going on in there. There's a disconnect in trust here. A distance that seems farther than the look Creed gets in his eyes sometimes.

Well, with that aside, Charmoeleon, you're free. I'm proud of you for opening up and finding love and trust in your heart. Now go find somebody (other than your husband) who deserves it. And... if you still feel down and need a hug, Meredith here is always open.

313 - my approach to "solving" this game is just to read everything and see how hard people are trying to bait an interaction

331 - sun fan trusting Haku is pretty bold to drop given only reading vibes up until this point, and even then, still vibes. not a fan of sun fan here, but picking Haku isn't a terrible choice

352 - commenting on the timing of Haku's scheduling seems a little manipulative. "I want to suggest a hand now given the upcoming deadline I know is about to hit this player"

365 - I do like Freezin less the more he posts about rereading these games

371 - freezin painting in broad strokes here saying that town will implode more over time. why are you so certain of this? seems like he's also forming a case

401 - Haku does look town AF not accepting the vote. if I was wolfing, I would just instantly take any vote for me.

408 - sunfan can fake this, but having hosted the last game, I see where sunfan is coming from, and his trusting of haku makes much more sense. this doesn't feel like contrived justification either

sunfan's strategy is fine mechanically, imo, and Lar, I think if he's town, this setup allows towns to independently get work done since they can exit rather than trying to rally together much more people to vote a particular target

439 - I think post legacy is more of a wolfy concern in this setup. wolves won't want to point to their partners, but town is just trying to find their out

445 - tone of Charmoeleon's defense is a bit pointed. I think Lewdy looks fine here asking these questions, but I bet part of the frustration comes from being called out on this multiple times by now

462 - I agree with Haku's decision but I don't hate this pairing later

475 - Lewdy's occasional chat posts aren't as bad as Freezin's earlier, but they are adding up a bit

478 - Part of me doesn't like Haku saying sunfan would be better staying in thread since it serves what end? I can see a world where wolf!Haku says this because of knowing sunfan's true alignment (assuming they aren't partners of course)

489 - Lar's reads: I agree with the stances on moe, lewdy, and Freezin. the others I don't feel as much, but Haku's rejection just feels odd given their desire to speedrun this game. that being said, wolf!Haku would probably just accept it and GG, so I'm probably just overthinking the fuck out of this

501 - I do think Moe is doing a good job living up to his standard of interacting with more of the newer players. given how quick he was to it, this makes me feel better about him given the more he does it.

510 - Haku's plan about keeping the obvious top town around is also ??? again. why not just take what we have if two towns feel confident?
I wouldn't hate exiting myself, but I haven't been around long enough to build trust with someone. I feel like catching up and interacting in real time is the only way I'll actually appeal to anyone here

517 - drive was boring on the way back, but terribly stormy on the way up. family was good!

If I was a wolf this game, I would absolutely try to use the mechanics of this game to attempt to clear me from potential suspicion. That's why I can't see myself trust Sunfan here btw.
I will change my mind if Galaxink ends up being town tho because I think wolf Sunfan -always- vote Galaxink here and leave the game.
So, I guess clearing Galaxink somehow would also clear Sunfan on my end.
