I like it in terms of how easy it makes the game. However, I'm gonna suck compared to everybody else now.

I fully support this update! Just like offsync stepfiles... they don't represent how the game is intended to be played. (compensating for glitches in the game)

      I'm retired

Many people had problems reading files that weren't skinned properly...And the ones that could had an advantage over them. Then the day skins started appearing, scores immediately improved. Does that mean all the people that got their scores before skins should be saved separate just because of WHEN they did it? No...And that's why they weren't. The same thing should be applied here.
You bring out a very interesting point, and awesome example. You're right, before noteskins came out, it was hard for some to read the paterns, etc... just as with av-missing, though, in this case, people aren't either as fast enough, or their keyboards are homo. Also, it does seem pretty logical what you said related to the scores saving and stuff, but I still disagree with you and the rest who are side by side with this. You have to agree though that all that work as for nothing, basically. So, you have to understand that a lot of people are pissed about this. I bet when noteskins came out, there was a group of people who were really mad at this because of, once again, all that effort put into it but mostly everyone, like in this case, was in favor of it. I just hope the staff do something so were all happy like they usually do but if they don't, I mean, what can we do? It's their decision.

So, what about the " godly ' inactive people like Shash and the others? Without saving scores and stuff, how will they be remembered?

They will be remembered with the people of the era. It's like with anything. Scores, the way things are played, and everything else eventually evolves. Sure it will be new at first. But think about it this way almost everyone complained about hitting average misses and about how much they ruined scores. Now so many people are complaining cuz they are gone. It's rather annoying.

People were pissed. People are pissed. People will always be pissed at something...Such is life. And I wouldn't call it wasted effort as much as I would call it making them work a little harder. Getting rid of Avemisses will bring up a group of insane people and pushing everyone else to get better.

And concerning the "godly" people...What about them? As long as these forums exist, their legend lives on. I mean, we still reference people like Nima and Arch0wl and how many updates, new songs, and general new members have we had since there time? Games, much like anything else in life, move on. You can't expect them to wait for anyone.

The staff already said they were going to keep 2nd Style around after 3rd Style came out. My argument is they need to make the separation now, rather than bastardize the scores of the entire life of 2nd Style in a short transition period that will lead to a separate 2nd and 3rd Style anyway. Removing avmisses is removing the defining, score-limiting "feature" of 2nd Style.

That's my argument right there. You're acting like removing avemisses is like removing a feature...And you simply can't do that because it is 100% NOT a feature.

I agree with Ryusei, it's not a feature, it is a glitch.

Av-misses aren't even that hard to avoid really, well for me at least, I only miss because of bs lag whenever playing FFR.

                        Oh and here's something else:

Jacks with av-misses = pretty hard
                        Jacks without = still hard

Makes a little difference except for timing, which relies ON the person playing, now that they'll be/they're gone.

Sure, being inactive is your own fault, hell my avg. rank is way better than Shash's at this point, but we all know who's better. We can't let those people simply be forgotten.
Scottish is currently...well, at least I think he is working on the FFR Hall of Fame for the eras of FFR from 2002-2004, 2004-2007, and 2007+. So all of those people who accomplished amazing things in FFR will be documented and recorded into FFR history - they won't be forgotten. This new time with speed mods, and now no avmisses is definitely a new era for FFR.

Also, as I'm reading this thread, my mind is changing about things.

This is so true...I know Ryusei_ disagrees, but the avmisses we've known for the last 5 years have literally become part of the game. For all we know, Synth and Xelius are just testing this feature for future use. I don't know what's going on in the subscriber thread, but for all we know they ARE going to wait until 3rd style to implement it. dore, I believe you're right in saying that it bastardizes the 2nd style scores, but I still believe they (avmisses) need to be removed eventually, just not in 2nd style perhaps?
