Songs of the Week and Weekly Update 3/4/2022
Welcome to the first Song Release and Weekly Update for March! There’s a unique batch to start off the month and we have a new (virtual) band joining us in FFR this week! Going forward we will be providing a brief description on all new artists to FFR as we see their work arrive.
Judges
The March/April 2022 batch is now open, and we also have the Ooga-Booga Special Batch. It’s a batch that will have an expedited review process at the expense of detailed notes. All of the details on this batch can be found in the Ooga-Booga Special Batch Discussion Thread. Both batches are open until May 1st.
There has been a small change to the judgment process regarding files marked as Fixes Required, as well as files with a two or more point rating difference between two judges while one rating is a rejection . Please refer to this post for the complete information on the change.

Songs of the Week and Weekly Update 2/18/2022
Welcome to another Song Release and Weekly Update for February! Songs of the Week is changing to have two songs starting with this release. The past week has been pretty quiet but there’s one very important thing to note.
Game Management
In case you missed the announcement on the Discord server earlier this week, The Great Author Re-Linking Project changes are now live! If you’re unfamiliar with the details on this, you can see the original front page post announcing the details here. You can also read the Discord announcement below.
“Goldstinger – Bing Bong, extra special ping. ‘The Great Author Re-Linking Project’ changes have went live. As a result, every song in-game should properly credit the music author by linking to their wiki page (which now exists) or linking to a wiki page that links off to more than one artist, if more than one needs to be credited. There’s also been tons of song name fixes, credit wording, and stepauthor name fixes.
Of course, with big scale changes usually comes small hiccups here or there where stuff being overlooked happens. So, if you spot an issue with a song name, artist attribution, dead link in-game, or misattributed stepauthor, DM me. Here’s to giving the music authors of FFR the proper credit that they deserve.”

Songs of the Week and Weekly Update 2/4/2022
Welcome to the first Song Release and Weekly Update of February 2022!
Development
We have a couple exciting projects in the works! First is that Velocity has been going through all of the source files for the 100+ difficulty songs and converting them from frame-based timing to ms timing. It goes without saying that this will be a massive improvement towards gameplay in this difficulty range. The project is almost complete and has taken many hours, as there are 88 files in this range with some that had to be re-created from scratch. When all files have been updated, you will see the change for all of them at once with any difficulties adjusted as needed. (Death Piano will have its update pushed through once its bounty event has concluded.)
Second project is that we’re trying to properly archive all of FFR’s simfiles. There are a lot of gaps to fill pre-2018 so please let Velocity know if you have the source file for anything in FFR from that time period!
Separately and thanks to Zageron, password resets should now properly send an e-mail to Outlook users and our contact us link within the footer of each page will now direct you towards our team section. Last thing to mention is that you’ll be seeing some new season specific badges on your profiles in the near future. These will also apply retroactively towards season 1.

We have a new official FFR YouTube channel! Videos of previous content will be uploaded there over time, on top of any new content that we provide recordings of. (Such as official tournament song releases.)

Development
R3 1.4.3 has been released! You can find it and the changelog in our Download FFR section.
Game Management
Gold stinger has been hard at work with the The Great FFR Song Author Re-Linking Project. This involves making sure every FFR song artist is designated with a link to an active page on our FFR Wiki, which in turn is being created and/or updated with relevant information. This way the wiki page url remains a consistent reference in game if an artist’s direct url changes or breaks. On top of this, FFR stepartist names, song artist names, and song names are being checked for correct spelling and consistency across multiple files. Work on this is about 80% done, and once completed the fixes will become public all at once.
Judges
The work continues on getting everything caught up and judged from what was in our batch system in the past. The May/June batch is fully judged and the July/August batch is almost fully assigned, with emphasis to move to the October/November batch as judgments come in for those.

Moderation
Congratulations to Deamerai and Rapta for being upgraded to Global Moderators! The moderation team will be looking to do a full rules revamp sometime in the near future and will be hoping to implement it in places much more visible than just in the forums.

Songs of the Week and Weekly Update 1/14/2022
Welcome to this Friday’s Song Release and Weekly Update! There have been a good chunk of changes over the last week or two, so here’s what’s been going on:
Development
R3 version 1.4.2 is on its way so keep an eye out. As in the past, there will be a changelog accompanying its release.
Season 2 started on January 1st! If you participated in season 1 (completely filled out your top 50) you should see a participation badge within the token section of your profile. There will be more badges released in the near future and there are new features being worked on to expand on your seasonal stats.
Event Team
No official events are currently active, but there’s an interesting unofficial event going on that has a cash prize for the first person that AAAs Death Piano! You can find the event thread here.
Difficulty Consultants
A couple files had their difficulty changed in the last week:

If you come across any files that you feel could have their difficulty adjusted, please let us know by starting a discussion within #difficulty-discussion on the FFR Discord server, or by creating a thread within our Contested Chart Difficulties sub-forum. Judges
Easy and Hard Batches for Official Tournament 15 are now open! Get your tournament-worthy files in by the end of May!
Please welcome Matthia as a judge consultant! He’ll be helping with reviewing files in our 100+ difficulty batches.
Thanks to Velocity, batch submissions now display an NPS graph! Older files missed in batches prior to the July/August 2021 batch have been updated or assigned to judges. Judges have also begun reviewing files from the October/November 2021 batch. To stay updated on batch progress, you can check out the Weekly Batch Updates thread. You can also find batch updates within #batch on the FFR Discord server.
Moderation
Our global mods have gone through and cleaned up the forum stickies a bit. This mainly involved removing any outdated/old stickies. The next step will be updating any existing stickies if needed.
General
We’ve created a new Community Manager usergroup to help centralize and convey information from every department. Each week you will see updates (if any) from each department along with the songs of the week provided by these users. On top of that, our Community Managers will be here to help guide users in the right direction with any questions or concerns they may have. Our two Community Managers are Sky Kitten and XJ-9, so please give them a warm welcome to this new department!
FFR has a new Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter! We’ll have users dedicated to each social media page to keep people consistently updated through those avenues. Spread the word!
