SCHOOL'S OUT! Kings Dominion Meetup June 24th

Okay so I was just talking with Mal, and I realized that a VA meet up at Busch Gardens would be a fantastic idea. It would take place somewhere in the May/June era, and would be open to all VA FFRer's. Busch Gardens is pretty close to VA beach and Richmond, just to give you an idea of where it is. Basically you hit richmond and go west on 64 until you hit the coast.

WHY BUSCH GARDENS???

Busch Gardens is offering a season pass for VA residents only, called a "Fun Card" that costs the same as a day pass! $55 for a season pass; THIS IS MADNESS! The card can be purchased online, and printed out at your house. You take that print-out to a machine at the front of the park and get your fun card. All you need is some proof of VA residency (driver's license, etc). Just make sure you buy them before May 31st because that's when the deal ends (but the passes purchased before then last until Sept 3). Just to be safe, we might want to have the meet up before May 31st.

I would be coming from the very top of VA, and could pick up the non-drivers along the way (mead, rai, richmond people, etc). Anyone game for this?

Wow, I don't remember most of those rides, it's been a while. Shockwave was at Kings, right? Apollo's Chariot at BG. The one that they tore down at BG was awesome, Dragon something. I guess it's because of it's location (45min from VaBeach as opposed to 2 hours= a lot more memories) and the fact it's a classic place to take a date (lots of non-roller coaster attractions), I reminisce about BG more.

Over 200 feet, 90 degree drop.
It is indeed awesome.

Considering that ride opens May 25th and that's about the time you're planning on going, expect a 4-6 hour line for that ride.

I've been to Six Flags: Magic Mountain three times now. Once before their greatest ride opened, once a short while after their greatest ride opened, and once long after their greatest ride opened. Every single time the ride has been there, the line for it has been insane. 5 hours, even around dinnertime just a few hours before the park was to close.

So honestly, don't expect to be getting on that more than once in a single visit, unless you get to the park very early, it's the first thing you get to, and it's a very non-busy day at the park.

Even with the premise of this ride, I'm not too interested. Look up my favorite amusement parks and tell me if you see a trend in what I go to them for:

Six Flags: Magic Mountain
Cedar Point
King's Dominion

I've been to BG and KD more times that i can remember and I love KD more than BG. Sure BG is closer but I seriously suggest making this a King's Dominion trip. I've been to very few other amusement parks aside from that one. When you live in northwest Ohio, however, Cedar Point is basically the only logical choice.

Its a pity that Volcano broke down before I got the chance to ride it.
I have ridden everything else in the park.

1. Volcano is an awesome ass ride. The fact that you go 90 degrees up out of the volcano into an inverted Zero-G roll at 65/mph is reason enough to wait 2+ hours for the ride.

2. The ride is called Outer Limits: Flight of Fear. They never dropped the "Outer Limits" part of the name.

Umm no they don't. There is only a Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg, Virginia and Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa Bay, Florida. I would know because I've been to both parks numerous times.

heh...well you see...my friends and i sometimes get drunk before going into the park, because it is fun and it makes the roller coasters like 5x better. lol.

and anyways long story short - one time i got extremely wasted and got really sick inside the park. i threw up, and some asshole called the paramedics. they gave us breathalysers...and that's that lol.

The name of the town in the directions my dad sent out is Luray. I think he's still trying to get good deals on hotels so I'm not sure where we'll be. The latest itinerary he sent out says we'll be there on the 22 of this month.

Ok, bump because it's dead and also, I've run into a problem, once again.

I was originally going to go with my whole family, but now it's just going to be me and my friend. The problem is, my mom doesn't want to pay the "parking fee" to get into the park just to drop us off, and so, I guess we kind of need a ride in and out, but I was thinking my mom could like wait across the street or something for us when we come out, so.. basically, I just need a ride IN the park, if that makes sense. xD
