Tier 1 -
Cumulative dice rolls - how many times did you have to roll to make it more likely than not to have rolled a 6?

4 Rolls

It is often more helpful with probability to think of the chances of something not happening. The chances of not rolling a 6 in a single roll is (5/6)^1. So you can take (5/6)^N until you find an outcome where it's less than a 50% chance of it not happening. (5/6)^4 is about .48, which means that there is a 52% chance of having a 6 after four rolls.

Tier 2 -

-.50 (Minus fifty cents)

To get an answer, you have to multiply the percent chance of any individual outcome happening with the value of that outcome, and then add up all the results.

30% of the time, +$40 = +12
25% of the time, -$60 = -15
20% of the time, +$80 = +16
15% of the time, -$110 = -16.5
7% of the time, +$150 = 10.5
3% of the time, -$250 = -7.5

12-15+16-16.5+10.5-7.5 = -.5, or minus 50 cents

Tier 3 - This process was a lot like Tier 2's question, but with more steps and factors to account for. To start off, find the expected value of the draw card using the weights or multipliers on the spreadsheet. From here, calculate the expected value of a winning pack and a losing pack (minimum rarities and maximum rarities, as well as the number of cards are different in each case). Once you have those two values, do another expected value calculation between winning and losing, using the ratio Rushy posted of odd/even cards by weight. With all that said and done, you should have had something in the low 5,500s range, depending on how you rounded. Here's a link to what Silsim put together to figure it out -

i should've just taken a silver because apparently those are more likely to drop T11s than any of the billions of quality packs i've collected

I've sacrificed some collection value to make quick trades, but I'm up to 116/139 Classical cards - 23 left and only a couple more are in the hands of active players. I'll have to start trading to the house and praying for good RNG soon.
