I would possibly be interested in going! eurostud4 and I can probably travel together since we are coming from the same place.

Updated the list in the first post.

There's great potential for a lot of people to show up, so we can start talking about ideas for things to do. I'm not extremely familiar with Chicago since I haven't been in the heart of the city since I was a kid, but I'll try looking into some possible places to meet at.

If we have access to a few laptops or computers in an area with internet access, that could be fun. If enough people are up for it, that can be planned a couple of weeks before this happens when a lot more will be set in stone.

It'd be easier to first get a list going of places the group could go to. An arcade would be a great place to start. Chaz mentioned that there was a Dave & Buster's in Chicago, but he hasn't been there since he was living in Illinois some years ago. Perhaps there's an arcade in the area that has some ITG or DDR machines. (Maybe Halogen would know more about that.)

At the last FFR convention we met up at an arcade in the evening on the first day and basically spent all of the time there until later in the night. (Besides going out and getting something to eat.) The next day we grabbed some breakfast somewhere and then spent the rest of the day at the convention. So we can do something similar for the first day with an arcade. We just need to find some places to go to on the second day to keep everybody occupied.

I'm down for whatever, I won't need occupying. I really don't know how the money issue will work for me though..

There's also a GameWorks in Schaumburg, IL but that's unfortunately ~40 minutes from downtown it looks like. However it's a lot closer to the airport than Dave & Buster's and will probably be closer to a lot of people staying in hotels. (I can't imagine people wanting to stay in a hotel really close to downtown because of prices.) Maybe the first evening would work out better at that place and then finding a place downtown the next day could be the plan. I need to look into these places more before I can be assured they can offer enough entertainment.

                                You rang?

                                1.) Waveland Bowl:
This very nicely renovated bowling alley sports 40 lanes, and a smaller arcade including a DDRMAX2 machine, an air hockey table, and a few other arcade and racing games. The bowling would make for an ideal thing to do for hanging out, but it's not exactly the best area to take a laptop and chill to play FFR (as far as I know, they do not have any WiFi, so any FFR play would be a bust.)

                                2.) Depaul University:
The student center of Depaul is fairly large, and is close by a few places you could go eat out at (Potbelly's if you're hungry; Coldstone - if you have a sweet tooth , Mr. Submarine, which has some great subs; Subway - literally right next door, lol; Wendy's - as bad as it is; the list goes on and there's quite a bit of stuff to eat within a mile or two). In the student center, is a cafe, and a food court (although it's a bit over-priced, so watch yourself). On the second floor, you have the recreation center, which has some pool tables, a few arcade games (last I checked, they had a Guitar Hero machine?) including In The Groove 2 and some air hockey.

                                3.) Ignite LAN Center
Ignite LAN center is a fairly new, state-of-the-art gaming hub for those who want to play everything computer. The place isn't huge, but it has around 40-50 computers that can be used to play a ton of MMO games, and if you so wanted to, some FFR. On top of all that, if you're not a big computer person, you can use the same time that you purchased for the computer to play other games on the XBox 360's/Playstation 3 that they have. If you're traveling by car, getting a bite to eat is SO easy, you have a ton of places within a mile or two...from memory: Wendy's, McDonald's, Burger King, Popeyes, Wingstop, Quizno's, a few Chinese restaurants, a pizzeria (John's Pizzeria, which might be a little over a mile), Taco Bell...I would highly recommend this place too.

(p.s. all three of these locations are within 5 miles of each other so it might be possible to go to all of them )

                                4.) Dave & Busters
This is a nice party venue as well, there's just one issue: what if there's people here who are under than 18? I remember having issues getting in two years ago, but I'm not sure if it pertained to that. Just wondering...

This D&B has some decent food and games, but I don't recall it having internet access, and the closest thing you're getting to a rhythm game is PIU: NX2.

...there's a few other places you could go to that are a bit further out - you've got the two Brunswick Zone arcades in Roselle and Naperville, but I'm not sure if they have any internet access (although, both locations have ITG and Naperville has PIU: Pro).
