Just reserved a hotel room for the nights of July 1st and July 2nd. (Checking out on July 3rd.) This is for myself, A The Third, All_That_Chaz, and flipsta_lombax.

Hotel is a Marriot at 2950 S. River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018 About a 10 minute drive from the O'Hare airport according to Google maps. Not 100% sure on how traveling will work within the city at this point, but we'll get it figured out. Hotel prices were starting to go up so I wanted to lock in a lower rate while I could.

There's a shuttle to and from the airport with this hotel. I don't know if it would be cheaper just to take a cab though. If you're coming to the meetup, by all means feel free to book at this hotel too.

So, no Gameworks? I hate to be that guy, but I'm not going if it's not to Gameworks. Won't go over well with the parents if I say I'm headed into the city to go party with strangers from a website. They'll be fine with me going to an arcade.

Gameworks is still an option. I have no preference. The hotel I reserved a room at is about the same distance from Gameworks as it is from Dave & Buster's IIRC. But regardless, whatever is convenient for the majority out of the two will work for me.

Edit: Keep in mind that whatever we don't do on Friday could be done on Saturday. This is mainly a matter of where the most people can meet on the first night so we can better plan out everything else.

I've been to both, and honestly, Gameworks is the better time. The last time I was there, they had DDR Extreme, DDR X, and ITG. They also have a large variety of other games, and they even have some pool tables as well.

Nobody is arguing against anything. We can absolutely do gameworks. I just didn't suggest it in the first place because I've never heard of the place. The only problem I foresee is transportation to Schaumburg.

Just went to GW again on Saturday for my birthday, and they've recently added DDR X2 and removed ITG. So they now have DDR Supernova2, X, and X2. Also, they have a 4 player PacMan game that's amusing as all hell.

With that current info, it seems like that Gameworks would be a pretty solid choice. If we can all work out transportation fairly easily, I'd say we could put that down as the official location for everybody to initially meet on Friday. I'll give people some time to discuss possible transportation issues regarding it in the meantime. (I still have to look into that more specifically myself.)
