We are testing a couple of internal features in FFR tonight that will not be seen by the public. Let us know if you experience any difficulty that is out of the ordinary when playing the game. We will let you know about these new features in the near future.

Killerwu, great.. now if you could just be so kind as to give me a little more information than that. Like your cable provider company, where you are connecting from, browser type, OS type.. all that good stuff. and what exactly does “isn’t loading” mean?

Have you tried clearing your cache? I’ve heard that that helps sometimes. It might not be as a result of whatever testing is going on.

I just got a bug that never happened to me before. I got to where I took this screenshot, then it just stopped. I’m connecting from my house, using comcast, firefox, and windows.

I see you have noticed.. The compressed version has gone up a small amount. Uncompressed it is a bit larger. But I cannot tell you why.

For the past 2-3 days i havent been able to play ffr that well, heres the problems:
1. The songs take a long time to load, about 2mins and about 70% of the time they stop loading altogether.
2. Not only are the songs loading slow but going from page to page on ffr (ex checking profiles) is slow too, it takes a few mins to load, and i use high speed. also 50% of the time a screen comes up with the dreaded *page can not be displayed* screen.
3. After a song (if it works) the credits are not added and scores are either ???? or 0. and when i try to choose another song my credit count goes to 0 and my mp level does as well.
I have never had these problems like this before and im looking forward to play again. Thx for your consideration!

I go undefined about every other song and sometimes my song wont load. I try to refresh and my computer freezes, I know its not the computer cuz i just got it.

Yesterday and today i’ve had a LOT of problems.
1. Every song i have to reload it many times, it keeps getting stuck at 0 this had never hapenned to me until yesterday.
2. Every 3rd song or so in MP, it shows i have no credits.
I don’t have dialup so my computers internet shouldn’t be the problem. FIX IT PLEASE

I just played a song, and it seems to me that the arrows are moving much smoother than they used to (could be just me, but that’s a difference i noticed).

is it a bug if sometimes i play a lvl and the purple arrows are invisible and the green or light blue ones turn to normal blue arrows?

if you pick a song on one page then go up or down a page the song (in the same slot) get replaced from the song you pick on the first page. not too bad of a bug just its there. (to get the songs back to normal just close the song tab ex, dance tab)

Synth, my FFR as been messed up for the past 2 days. In multiplayer I keep becoming undefined and the site randomly doesnt load and i get error pages. Also the songs wont load unless i wait like 2 minutes for each to start with multiple clicks. btw i have cable internet connection and the most problems happen on IE.

the game is goin faster then b4 but some of the songs are stoppin a few times ten goin again. Also just a little bug i found that i never got to say was in Party4UHolyNightRemix if you lose then try again the song doesnt play and it goes uber slow.

some of my key strokes aren’t being recognized…. don’t know if it’s my computer or ffr, and my credits aren’t being added…. but can’t wait and some of the songs are being really slow when i play them but sometimes my computer is just slow so i don’t know if it’s ffr or not. Can’t wait to see the new stuff!

What I mean by “FFR won’t load” is that when I click the link to play FFR, it loads the page fine but then it just has a blank white box, and it’s that way for the Unified Chat as well. I can still post on forums and update my profile and everything, I just can’t play FFR or use the Chat Box.
I’ve tried everything I can think of but it still doesn’t work for me, and it started 5 or 6 days ago. I use IE and I’m connecting from my house, and I have DSL.

never mind it is adding my credits but still some of the key strokes don’t register and it’s not because of my keyboard because i just got it like a day ago and it’s not a bad connection it’s really weird though it’s fine on the other ones- resonance etc. but on ffr it’s not working

Some songs have been unplayable for me…like I couldn’t play Pants when I tried today about an hour ago.
A lot of glitches I can point out thus far…here is info about my computer: DSL (Non-wireless router), Firefox 2.0 browser, Windows XP, and connecting from my house.
Another glitch is multiplayer isn’t loading, as well as songs…they get to 100% but then stop, or they start and stop immediately after it starts.
Another glitch that has happened recently is that when I click on “The Game”, I’ve had to click it once or twice before it actually loads…and when it’s loading the game, sometimes it doesn’t load all the way, like stopping at a certain KB. I have waited a while, I usually wait 30-40 seconds, but FFR usually loads instantly for me.
One I am noticing is a common one…the scores don’t save, so I would play something like Balloon Fever and it would stay at 0 rank, or not save. I clear my cache everyday, so that can’t be the problem.
The final glitch I have noticed is “Sever Split” on multiplayer. I mean, I play against someone, then near the end of the song, it says he’s still there, but he’s not. It also shows he died although he keeps getting a combo…very weird glitch.

Same as 18 above, page itself doesnt load, or when it does song doesnt load or has huge delays in loading. Credits etc disappear, reappear at random. Cable internet, provider Suddenlink, IE7, os WinXP Pro, 2 gig ram yadda yadda, yes dumped cache etc etc. Same with Firefox. Bleh

Yeah, I got to click on play FFR and it comes up on the blue page and it dosen’t load. Im using IE From my house and i have had this problem sicne yesterday or the day before. hopefully u guys can fix it.

Eh,my FFR isnt loading at all…solid blue screen,using mozilla firefox,high speed cable internet connection. It just started literally about half an hour after the news was posted.

Just a few things. First some songs I can’t even play i.e. Gradeus / Pants. This isnt from lack of skill as I have beaten them before. For some reason if there is a jump stream with anything more than 8th’s it seems that my arrow clicks won’t get registered. I have tested this on my other computer and it seems like its a 50/50 chance of the same thing. Second sometimes when I hit arrows and the word PERFECT or GOOD pops up, the arrow will still go flying by and it still results in a MISS. It is getting very annoying when I go to AAA easy songs and it happens midway through. Also I have experinced that “FFR not loading” with the rest of the page loaded and FFR not even showing up at all. Just incase you need to know, DSL from home using windows XP.

Sorry for the double post, but this is more of an edit. I tried doing Pants 4 times and each time the same thing happend. When it got to the first jump stream at first I didnt press anything, and I got farthur than when i tried to even hit any arrows. So I tried hitting arrows and they all registered, but not as hitting the falling arrows (I play down arrows) instead they all registered as whatever they would have been + a BOO. Also the arrow would still go past and also result in a MISS. For instance if I hit an arrow and it registers as PERFECT, what I really get is. PERFECT + BOO + MISS. I hope you are able to fix this soon

I just played Synesthetic as a test and to get a best score higher than zero after it was redone
Then, somewhere in the middle of the song, it slowed down like P4U. It played perfectly fine up until it slowed down and it even recorded my stats and credits fine after I failed out of the song. I have wideopenwest cable (can’t you check our IPs to figure this out yourself? Do these postings not record IPs?), Windows XP Professional, and Firefox.
Oh and telling us you’re testing new features is a major tease. You could have just said “We’ve made a few changes and are unsure if everything went through alright. Let us know if you encounter any problems.”

The size…it’s like 1000 instead of 500 as it used to be.
And ffr loads, people, you just have to be patient. It doesn’t show it loading, but in the end it will say loaded and bring you there.

For those of you having problems still, please tell us if using a mirror or the main FFR site (here), your browser version and flash version if you would.
We need as much information as possible as we work on some of these enhancements. As we are going to be testing different builds today as we track down any problems with these upgrades.

ive been having arrow registration problems lately too. i run on comcast, the main site, and i use IE. it happens randomly but i know i hit the arrow and i register a miss. i tried this on my other comp and get this same problem. it happens mostly in a stream above 160-170 BPM.

I’ve been seeing on some of the songs the timing will drift off of the music. Also on older computers the songs have more trouble playing. On some songs the arrows will drop to maybe 1/5th the speed they should be coming up and the music will stop. I’m using the same computers I used before.

*edit for comparison, last night the last few times I tryed played neither of the above was working, so far today, Firefox is cooperating atm, except for the occasional song launch to immediate score, no arrows, goes straight to all 0′s and shows your highest score and ffr best ;| IE7 still isn’t, for what thats worth

I have tested 2 seperate computers so far. 2 of which are Windows XP Home and one running IE 6 and another IE 7 Both with Flash player 9. If anything, the computer with IE6 ran the game slightly smoother, either that or im crasy. I also noticed besides the increase of the file size of the FFR engine, when the engine is loading there is a “http://www.flash” written in small text in the upper left corner. im PRETTY sure its not supposed to be there.
Also because i think it might be a factor, my location is in northern Delaware. It is possibble that the people who are experiencing issues just loading the page are experiencing some issue with wires somewhere down the line to where this game server is. Mainly people who do not live in the US or Canada, just say where you live cause it might be a factor.

Everything works fine for me (at least in single player – didn’t try multiplyer this evening) except the download speed. That was better last year. I can still download all songs, but it takes about a minute. I’m from germany, T-Com DSL, WinXP, IE.
The download was much faster last year. It took me about 10 secs download a song.

^^^That problem doesnt come from this patch. I recognised this bug some time ago, but didnt really care, because it’s not really a heavy bug

WOA! thats kinda weird…first of all the ffr engine size seems to be changing…a bit…and when you try to buy songs it says you dont have enough credits when you have WAY more than enough…if i find any other stuff i’ll mention it [and sorry in advance for being meticulious...im kinda a perfectionist in a small sence so sorry if im being annoying] keep up the great work! also maybe the people who are loading songs slowly should try playing on the Low Res version of FFR…the screen size might be really small but you can play it maybe, because thats the point

I don’t know if this is related, but just now I started playing TGWP Part 2, and the arrows were about a beat too early. But then after about 5 or so seconds the music stopped and the arrows slowed down.
My cable provider is Time Warner Cable, I’m running Windows XP SP2 and I’m using Firefox 2.0.0.1

ive notice that some of the songs scores r not normal.
In the song ROSE someones record is too high. Tass check it out and please try to speed up the new features cause like… everyone here is like…getting pissed. But I think that ur doing a great job, keep it up.

I noticed the size difference in the loading of the engine, but the only problem that I am concered is that whoever or whenever I played, the screen freezes constrantly. I used to get that alot in the past…but its back. Hope you can fix that including the rest of the peoples. see ya!

For me, it’s been a week since i cannot load ffr the game : or the loading bar appears and stops around halfway through (and stays there, I left it open for an hour or so) or the loading screen doesn’t appear at all. But i think the problem has nothing to do with the patch as i am connecting from beijing, china, it might be because of the earthquake that cut the cable lines… anyone else from asia experiencing the same problems?

I guess I’m not an isolated case, for the FFR site has been freezing on me recently also. For example when I click to play a song, it will start with “loading 0%” then not move… I’ll have to refresh the page and try clicking the same song again to get it to load, but the page will refresh a lot slower than it should, sometimes remaining a blank white screen and display an error page. Songs only load smoothly for me if it’s already Cached.

I’ve had a problem lately with the arrows and images not dissapearing when they should. Like when an arrow travels upwards it still shows some of its states of movement. Like a trail. And when i start a song, some of the selection menu is still showing on top of my game.

Everything is going well for me …. but I saw something weird… when you choose a genre you can see under it:
There is # song in this genre
but there’s no number like 50 or 5 or anything it’s # songs in this genre…

Hmmm. All my Secret songs have gone. They disappeared about 6 months ago and I had to earn them back, but now they’re gone again.

FFR is loading fine, however:
I went to purchase one of my last 2 songs that need to be bought and it now shows in the “FFR Shop” all the songs that I’ve already purchased. It won’t let me scroll down to find the ones i haven’t bought either.
