Menu Music Competition – We Want Your Track!
We hope you all are enjoying your break so far (for those of you back in school, sux2bu!). Since our resurrection, we’ve seen lots of changes to the site and the game itself. However, there’s more work to be done, and your help is needed!
We need new game menu music! Emotions by Trance [] Control has served us well for the last several years, but a new generation needs a new feel, and that’s why we want your track! So any of you music producers out there, it’s time to start composin’. If you send us a great track, we’ll put it up for all the FFR Players to hear and you’ll get to follow in the footsteps of Emotions too 
Here is what we are looking for in your compositions:
- Any genre (just keep in mind, it should be something suitable for “menu music”)
- Any BPM/Meter/Key
- Between :45 and 1:45 long.
- Must be loopable
- 16-32 bars of music (A 4/4 time signature is not required!)
And here’s what we know you’re looking for, the prizes:
1st – 100k Credits + song in the game
2nd – 30k Credits
3rd – 10k Credits
First, we’ll battle all of your tracks against each other until the best three rise to the top. After that comes the real fight, we pit your track against Emotions to see which one has more of that FFR Vibe to it. If your track can stand up to it, then it will become the new most listened to song in the game (imagine that)! If not, well, we’ll still give you the credits but Emotions will still continue its reign of terror….
And if you’re still reading to here, then you probably want the nitty-gritty on how to send your tracks to us. Here’s what you need to do:
1) Submit a zip file of an mp3 of your submission. Bitrate doesn’t matter (we do want to hear all of the quality though!), because if you win we will ask you for an uncompressed version.
2) Also in that zip file, you should include a text document (.txt preferred) with the following:
-Your real name
-Your FFR username
- Title of your track
3) Title the zip file as follows: ffrusername_menumusic. And send it via email as an attachment or link to ffr.kidmerkury@gmail.com, with “FFR MENU” as the subject.
All submissions are due by February 10th at Midnight Server Time (CST)

lol, I was just thinking about this today actually, would be nice to see a new song. You think it is possible for Velo to add in the feature he had on his engine back when FFR was down, where there were multiple menu songs and it was a new one each time the game was refreshed or went back to the main menu?

Just a suggestion:
Why not make the menu music user-customizable?
Say, one can select a song on FFR and save it as their menu song.
Regardless, anything is better than Emotions xD

People who are doing this: Please don’t enter songs with excessive amounts of bass… like Emotions. Something that wont give you a migraine when you play the game for awhile.

Plans comment is actually what I was thinking. How about there be like 5 menu songs in a separate menu settings, and we choose whether it automatically changes each time the game is opened, or we choose it, that way there is a variety.

I encourage you all to try, regardless of who else is entering. Someone might make a sweet ass track, but it doesnt fit as menu music. So no hesitation, give it your best!

just a note/update:
the submitted work MUST BE YOUR OWN WORK. If you’ve created the song in collaboration with another user, then you need to indicate that.
Only the top three songs will be awarded/announced, but I’ll judge the top 5, incase we end up doing that “custom menu” deal. I’ll then contact you if your song gets selected as additional menu music (if this happens)

I think a great idea would be to take like, the top 5, or the top 10, and make a playlist out of them, and put the playlist on shuffle, so we have different themes every time.
