    jTWG XXV: Runes, etc.

    ‘…and these runes were the only things of value we could strip off the body’ said Yessss.

    Everyone in the room gazed at the stones in amazement.

    ‘What do the runes say?’ said Kentball as he noticed the small carvings on the runes.

    ‘Do you think that anyone in this room could read that?!’ exclaimed Demon_of_the_comet, ‘are you an idiot?’

    ‘No… but maybe he does know?’ replied Kentball.

    ‘You’re an idiot, Kentball’ said T3hddrkid with a scoff.

    ‘Settle down, you two,’ ordered Yessss, ‘and no, I do not know what the runes say. It is still a mystery. My main concern is what do these runes do and why were they in the deceased’s possession.’

    The townsfolk began to ponder on the situation.

    ‘Well are there any differences between the runes?’ asked Farka.

    ‘Can’t you see they are absolutely identical?’ cried Hoochan, ‘Don’t ask dumb questions.’

    A faint laugh echoed in the halls, and the pondering continued.

    ‘Well, if we’re really not able to find out much about these runes…’ said psychozerosk8er, ‘why don’t you allow us to have a closer look on the corpse of the person who carried the runes?’

    ‘Yeah, that’d be the next best thing to do’ said Vash0987.

    ‘Very well, though I was saving this for later…’ said Yesssss, ‘You will all be shocked, though a few of you will not.’

    The crowd was perplexed as to why Yessss mentioned that a few of them would not be shocked when taking a closer look at the corpse. Small chatter began, and all turned worrisome. They leave the halls and find a corpse face-down on the streets.

    ‘OH MY LORD!’ exclaimed Fojar.

    ‘are those… bite marks?!’ asked pntballa18 in disbelief.

    More than half remained silent in awe for a brief moment and then began the whisper to each other.

    ‘Look at his skin, it’s all torn off!’ stated Farka.

    jwcgator approached the corpse and turned it face-up.

    ‘His organs are missing, too,’ mentioned jwcgator quite calmly, ‘see there in that hole? That’s where his organs used to be. They were eaten out.’

    Everyone was sickened, though probably due to jwcgator’s calmness when stating the obvious.

    ‘I’m sure all of us here will agree that there are werewolves among us’ said Yesssss.

    ‘…and by judging these track marks, we can safely assume that there are three individual werewolves as well.’ Added Kentball

    ‘How can you be so sur – what the hell is that?!’ exclaimed Hoochan as his word were interrupted by a shimmering set of lights which blasted out of the halls.

    The crowd ran back into the halls only to find that the pillars of light spawned out of the stands the runes were placed in.

    ‘What in the world is going on?!’ cried farka while clutching to jwcgator’s arm.

    ‘Look! They’re diminishing!’ noted psychozerosk8er.

    The pillar of light slowly dissipated revealing that the runes were not there anymore.

    ‘The runes… they disappeared?’ asked Demon_of_the_comet in disbelief.

    ‘It seems so’ said t3hddrkid.

    ‘It’s been a long awkward day, and it’s almost nightfall, I’m going home’ said sertman.

    The community nodded and began walking out of the building. They stopped, however, at Yessss’S words:

    ‘I hope all of you understand that there are three wolves among us. I don’t know anything about the runes, but, they’re gone now. Be at ease. Hopefully, we’ll all see each other in the morning.’

    ‘We can defend ourselves, don’t worry’ replied Pntballa18.

    The small chatter continued between the townsfolk, and they all went to their respective homes.

    IT IS NIGHT ONE.


    I expect PMs from the wolves and sages. Everyone expect to receive a PM from me, and be ready to send one back to me if you do receive one. Night ends as soon as all PMs have been received/sent or tomorrow, Sunday, March 25th at 11:59 pm CST.

              Alright, giving an overview of what the blues should do [have a good idea of strategy for reds as well, but why give ideas? ^^]

              Sage: Give the rune to somebody, obviously - preferably a better player for now, since there are no leads as to who has what role. PLEASE give your opinions on this matter, but I would say that if you sage somebody to be green, you should contact them. That green would have a 1/7 chance to be the MW, which would suck, but it's a good chance. If you hit a blue, obviously contact that person [I have to say that in case a new person is a total noob], and if you hit a red.. I'm not quite certain. More experienced players - help here? Reveal yourself and say "This person is red" or stay back for now?

              Tracer: You can tell who did actions on your house, whether giving you a rune or trying to steal something. If one person did an action on your house, yet you got no item, that means that person was the THIEF, and it's best to reveal yourself and say who that person was, thus eliminating the least useful human role and a wolf.

              Stone seeker: You can tell who each person who received a rune was. Keep track of these - at least one of the two people you receive each night is bound to be a human [as a wolf would not give a wolf the tainted rune, for the wolf with the rune would die.] Especially later in the game, it could be useful to have those names, as it could narrow down candidates for who is red.

              All humans: DO NOT use your destruction ability [vigi] at the moment if you receive a rune. Later, when people have well-founded suspicions of people, you may want to vigi, but now, it's just a shot in the dark that likely propels the wolves to win. Not a good thing to do, especially since you could hit a blue. Use the protection ability on somebody good [if you find that a person is a blue for certain, always use the protection on them unless you have a good reason to do otherwise.]

              Tell me if you see any flaws with this. As far as I can tell, this is the best strategy for each blue.

                  For the sage I think it could go either way if he seers a red. IMO I think that they should reveal themselves and get rid of the red.

                  There is a fifty percent chance that he seers the wolf sage. If he hits the wolf sage then it is a trade: human sage for wolf sage which I think is a pretty good trade. If it is the wolf thief then it isn't so good.

                  I don't know if the wolf sage for the human sage is good or not for the humans. I need somebody else's opinion on that.

                  Now for the wolf thief for human sage trade. At first it doesn't seem like a good trade, but after thought it makes sense. If he hits the wolf thief then the wolf thief will die. + for the humans. The human sage will then die the next night. - for humans.

                  Each night after that, the stone seeker will recieve a PM. Since the human sage will be dead, and since the wolves can't give each other runes, each name that he recieves will be a confirmed human(possibly green, possibly blue). Each night the stone seeker will be able to make an alliance with a different person. Each night the alliance will be one man stronger. That seems pretty good to me. We get rid of one red, and then have an alliance being built up.

                  Just my thoughts.

                            I got on to post something similar; as far as I can see, he's correct here. If the human sage hits a red, it cannot be the MW, so it must be the sage or thief - the sage would never give a wolf the tainted, for the wolf would die, meaning that, yes, IF the stone seeker is alive, he could easily make alliances. If he's dead, well, we'd hope that the human sage hits the wolf sage and not the thief ^^;

                            Best case scenario with this - human sage hits wolf THIEF - yes, not sage, thief. Reveals such, our sage dies, their thief dies. Their sage sends us a rune each day that we can use to hopefully protect from a wolfing, or later, use for vigis if we think we have something right. Our seeker builds an alliance in the background. Would NOT work if the seeker dies soon after or before the sage reveals himself.

                            Worst case scenario - human sage hits green, contacts him, he turns out to be the MW. Humans are down a sage, but stone seeker can continue to make alliances, if he's yet alive.


                            You know - if the human sage hits the wolf sage, it wouldn't even be completely amazing. Yeah, reveal yourself, since all you know is that he's red, but we'd be down a sage, they're down a sage, other roles are dependant on the sages passing out their runes, so.. it's basically Mafia. We hope we get the remaining two wolves before our.. eight? remaining dwindle down. But this is all rhetorical. Let's see what happens.
