what lol I've never hit 93% and have 120k over that >_> how does that work
thanks guys, and yeah lag on KoC is a bitch, I usually do the first two activations a beat early to avoid getting slaughtered by lagmisses. Sometimes I get them anyway, it's pretty annoying.
I have another really nice pic coming when my friend gets around to uploading it
let's just say that sacrifice is so going on tonight =D
I'm at almost 94% and my score is *barely* higher than yours.
GH scoring system is pretty bad, a lot like FFR. Although it's not quite *that* bad, it's still combo based, so your score comes almost entirely from combo. Comboing all the 'easy' parts in TTFAF and then getting butt raped in the solos racks in way more points than doing better overall but losing combo more in the easy parts.
I would personally change the score system. In order to not get rid of multipliers and star power completely, I think the multiplier should be more lenient. One miss shouldn't bring you back to 1x. It should take more than that, and subsequent misses should drop your multiplier by 1, not bring you all the way back to 1. Having it work the way it does puts too much emphasis on combo.
Having it work this way would get rid of the luck factor determined by where your misses are and scores would even out more with the % you get. I can see the score system becoming especially troublesome during tourneys, if they're going to go by score, since a superior run could lose due to bad luck.
You should also get SP for *EACH* sp note you hit during a phrase, and the phrase shouldn't disappear upon missing. That adds more to the luck factor, since a miss in an sp phase WILL lose to a run where the person potentially misses several times, but not during the phrase. I raised my score on TWIE by like 100k by just not missing the sp phrases I was missing...even with an inferior overall run compared to those that were 100k less.

That's how I feel. Someone who missed ONE note at the very end would have a higher score then the person who missed in the middle of the song. They're both equally matched, but one has a higher score than the other, which is very fustrating, especially when playing online (for me).
I dunno, I think the scoring system isn't perfect but it's ok for the most part.
The problem with only going by % is that someone who misses in 10 different places throughout the song will win against someone who messes up one HOPO run somewhere and gets -11, which doesn't make sense to me. The problem is that consecutive misses in GH aren't really consecutive mistakes and shouldn't be treated that way, and they aren't in the current scoring system which is good IMO.
But yeah the multiplier system could be improved.
4th Official FFR Tournament - Master division champion!
I have 2 more 5*s left! Raining Blood (currently at 177k) and One (currently at 339k), but I reckon I can do One with some practice on the Darkness Riffs. Silly mistakes suck.

Right, because of the HO system going purely by % isn't always the best idea. I think you'd have to tweak the multiplier accordingly (based on whether the miss is HOPO or a strum and the BPM of the song potentially?).
Either way, single misses occur MUCH more often than missing entire phrases. Since it would be an annoyance to program that I still think it would be far superior...there are only a few songs for which it wouldn't be. Either way, I don't think under any circumstance should it go straight back to zero, nor should sp phrases be all or nothing. It makes it too combo based.
There's a happy medium in there somewhere, optimal for competitive play but I doubt the programmers are going to do anything about it either way >_> When you can replay a song as many times as you want, the current system isn't too bad but I can see myself getting frustrated if I was playing to win.
The scoring system is exactly what it's supposed to be. It's like in a real gig, where the crowd gets going the larger your combo is. But any time you mess up the people go "ouch" and you have to warm them back up again.
Sure it's not perfect for hardcore players but it's exactly what it's meant to be.

Uh, most people can't even hear single errors when listening to the guitar. Unless you're trained and...know how to play the song most people will not notice a wrong note, ESPECIALLY with a whole band playing.
People notice mistakes when there are multiple errors. That or your rhythm is off. Dragonforce live is a perfect example of both of these XD People will notice immediately when your rhythm is off (yet sadly gh3 has a bunch of offbeat sections in songs >_>).
It has nothing to do with combo, or this game really >_> You don't really get a combo in real life. Your performance has so much to do with everything else.
edit: red snake is fc'able. I just about did it...rofl.
As for the rest of the song and all at once...well >_>
I'd blown through the entire song without using SP and had a full bar of it, I just didn't think I'd need it that moment and held off, but when I tried to it was tooooo late
Oh well, once past the beginning it was ridiculously fun holy ****
