well I think I might as well. This year I'm hoping to do the best that I can and I've definitely been prepping for this moment. Given that typically MWC picks are taken from OT i'm definitely gonna do my best to put on a show this year.

I think last year's performance was good but I did get nerfed slightly at the start. This year I will start off strong and prove that I'm a capable and worthy player.

Round 1 - Akazu - 100 - AAA

Saw this on stream and didn't think too much about it besides wondering if we would get the a 100 for Round 1 and I was correct. Needless to say this shows a little bit of difficulty increase which is nice. The file itself isn't too bad and I managed to do it in a few attempts. I felt kinda bad about my ratio so I played it again just to spite myself and did get a much better ratio! Im pretty excited for this year and this file is pretty enjoyable. I will say though this felt easier to AAA compared to last year Q33B but I've also gotten a lot better so who knows. Round 1 complete and time to really start this journey.

Round 2 - Eternal Drain V2 - 102 - AAA

Saw this beforehand in the queues. Didn't think much, saw it, thought it looked fast. I managed to play this and AAA'd in like 2? attempts. Pretty simple and easy not much trouble in all honesty. Round 2 Complete.

Round 3 - BIBBIDIBA - 106 - AAA

Ok so I saw this and Did Not Want To Play It. Mostly cuz anime-vtuber core whatever. I played it and managed to snag an AAA quickly in like 20? minutes so I was happy with that. In all honestly it's alright but not my type of file. Pretty good and Round 3 Complete.

Round 4 - Kyuuoku - 109

Did not want to play this especially in a tourney setting. File isn't bad but it's pretty backloaded (FFR Moment). It's also extremely long and FFR does not like long files so I really just didn't want to play this. Managed to survive so alls well that ends well. Round 4 complete.

Round 5 - Shinchoku Yaba-Zaemon uwu - 115

I was pretty afraid of this file seeing it on stream and seeing 280 minijacks and some 300+ ones. This one wasn't as bad. It's a bit annoying since it's also somewhat backloaded and 1 pattern in the break section that sucks to play. Pretty good and I actually managed to get my score while not being completely warmed. Somehow it was top 3 so idk how that happened. Overall it was alright and it wasn't as long as Kyuuoku so I didn't mind as much. With that, Round 5 complete and Top 5 secured.

Ok I Love FFR Maps So Let's Go

Round 1: Q33B - 99 - Round 1

Very fun map ngl. The minijacks aren't too bad but I can see why some people may not like them (minijack player here XDDD). The trills aren't too bad except like 2 parts.

There's an outter trill that goes on for a while and goes into some burst which can be so easy to choke. The ending jumptrill switching up and then back to jumptrill is also really easy to choke on!

Besides all of that though this file is very fun. A difficult start to OT17, gonna be interesting to see how OT17 goes. Hopefully I can come back to peak especially with a completely new mindset :)

Anyways not much to comment on since it's the start. My entire performance will be dedicated to crystal haha xd i would've never guessed. Anywyas Time to wait another week

Round 2: Tarantula Funk Beats - 101 - Round 2

Wow ok this is a huge step up. It has some pretty hard minijacks and just bursts in general but honestly I really enjoyed this file. It took me like 4 hours to AAA (thanks crystal for being there for the entire time xd). I personally love this song. I'd love to see this used somewhere else but who knows. The minijacks r rlly mean for this file so I'm unsure how to feel about those even despite being really good at minijacks. The minijacks are the main chokepoints with some other bursts but I think other than that this is a really enjoyable map. I also switched my skin this week so I had to play this song on a new skin (it's actually helping a lot). We'll see how Round 3 goes. Slightly worried that these news are gonna take a very long time to AAA but we'll see :P

Round 3: Cold Heart - 103 - Round 3

this seemed pretty daunting at first but I managed to AAA within 10 minutes. Good file. Nothing much to say this felt easier tho.

Round 4: Dysnomia v2 - 106 - Round 4

The complete opposite of cold heart! Looked easy, struggled but mostly cuz lag spikes (due to discord vc XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD). ill have to replay this sometime but file annoying so ye.

Round 5: Angel's Salad (Full Ver.) - 110 - Round 5

Goated song. Looked super hard but I got a pretty good score. I think I could AAA this but didn't do it within round. Made it past so we're good. Probably my favorite or one of my favorite files from the tournament at least. I had a lot of fun with this.

Round 6: Strong 280 - 111 - Round 6

This file is bad. I like the song but the difficulty sucked. I didn't like this and probably my least favorite file. I managed to tie with Zoobin so that was cool but that does mean we go to TB.

Round 6 TB: Roy - 111 - Round 6

Good file. Managed to set a very good score (choked AAA) and I beat Zoobin which was very interesting for me to see but really showed me how far I've come in this game. Good file.

Round 7: Restoration Lake - 114 - Round 7

Wow this looked so god dang hard on stream but I managed to choke my top play??? (I got too nervous and started messing up on the 1kps section XDDDDDDD). Holy hell was this a score. Managed to make the entry to top 3 extremely hard so that's great.

Round 8: Grains - 120 - Round 8

Yeah No. GG. 3rd place is honestly really crazy to me and this whole experience was great! I'm really glad to play in this tournament and make it this far. Thank you to all the stepperse for making fun files! Let's see what next tournament holds :]

FFR Valentine's Couple Clash

Placement -> 3rd
Teammate -> Elite Ninja

thinking of you 1.15x: JS map with funny transitions. Talked to my teammate the day before about this. Decided to play it unwarmed up and got an AAA first try. Very fun song though.
Love Song [Negradolna] 1.05x: When I saw this I immediately was hit with despair. I can't AAA this on base so seeing it on 1.05x was even worse. Grinded the file for a bit and got close to some equiv but it's too hard for me :-(. Mental isn't the best so I made very little progress.

Overall: I liked the concept. Unfortunate to not be able to team with Elze or Mothman but it's ok. At the end of the day Elite Ninja did really good. Thank you for being my teammate. Hopefully my mental will be better for next tournament

FFR Frozen Finger Rumble

Final Placement: 4th

Round 1 - ophthalmomyiasis: Honestly this wasn't that bad. Managed to AAA this relatively easily. I remember playing this at first and thinking it be really hard but it ended up being very quick so that's cool. Showed I had potential for FFR.

Round 2 - That's Gonna Be 0.85x: Pretty tough file. Took me about 2 hours to AAA this. Got slightly worried about the remaining rounds but alls well that ends well.

Round 3 - The Alchemist of Twilight: Ratio round! Yeah I lost a lot of placements because of this but it was in interval of 3 Rounds for the first 6 rounds. So needless to say those AAAs in Round 1 and 2 definitely saved me. Regardless I AAA'd still.

Round 4 - The Ever Increasing Death Toll of Birds In My Life: Yeah uh, I AAA'd this in 10 minutes. Originally played on 1.1x in o!m for USA MWC Tryouts. Needless to say I already knew to put MR on this file. Pretty easy and got some equivalent.

Round 5 - ENERGY SYNERGY MATRIX 1.5x: Ye this gave me some trouble. I didn't AAA. I got close by 1 great I believe but this was hard. First time I didn't AAA for this tournament so that's fun.

Round 6 - Organ Lesson: Another ratio round and yes I AAA'd this. Was quick so I didn't really care. I just had to make sure I made the placement critera which was guranteed. Fine file.

Round 7 - Shuu no Hazama (Rainshower) 1.25x: GG. 1 Great. I honestly really thought I could do it. I struggled to even AAA this and in the end I ended up with a blackflag. GG Matthia. I was close. Maybe in OT I'll make it far again. Fun file I just wasn't able to AAA even after hours of grinding. This won't stop me from improving for OT and MWC so to those I hope.
