How have you been? I've gotten pretty lazy about doing these...especially cause I used to do them after my anime theme updates...hahaha

At the moment, my theme is from GANGSTA. As indicated by the name, it's theme is the mafia. I highly suggest you check out the anime...but also the manga because the anime stops in a weird place. Unfortunately, the studio that created the anime disbanded so the anime will not get a continuation. Sad freaking day, right? :(

Enough about that, so what have I been up to? Working. Lots and lots of working. I'm a shift leader, so I work swing shifts. Some days I open, some days I close. However, I am transferring to a different store and my responsibilities will change. The thing I'm excited about is the set schedule I will be on! MAYBE....just maybe I will potentially have a life again?

Maybe not.

So as for FFR stuff, what do I have going on? I'm still D4. I still don't have St. Scarhand [Standard] unlocked. :/ I'm excited that the EMG and NIA Rivalries are starting up again! I look forward to participating in both! My main will be D4 in EMG, but I'm ghosting D3 in NIA because there are still some D3-esque files that I can't perform well on that other D3ers are crushing. I feel the challenge to perform well will help me overall. Hopefully I don't start performing so well that I'll be D5 by the time the 11th Official starts... (whenever that'll be, hopefully soon.)

Also, my internet modem has gone to crap, so I'm waiting on another one. Hopefully with the new one, I'll be able to keep a connection long enough to be able to stream again! Yay!! I'll keep ya posted. :)

On another note I do plan to travel to meet with dAnceguy & sunfan sometime next month, if all goes to plan~

Helloooo FFRholics!

How long has it been since I've done one of these? Too long...right? Gheez, so what has happened since my last update?

I managed to somehow wiggle my way into D4. I have no idea how. Oh wait, FLUKE scores, got a Top 50 full of em! XD I was hoping the 11th OT would have happened before I reached that point and I could have at least been in D3. *sigh*

So, how have I been skillboosting? I would like to contribute that to my participation in both the NIA and EMG rivalries and random user tournaments. I guess I just want to do well, so I'm getting better and better at higher level songs. In all honesty, I don't consider myself to be D4. That'll happen when I unlock St. Scarhand [Standard].

Halved-Noteskin is the best mod ever. At least for me. :) I'd definitely like to attribute some of my boosting towards that. There are files I haven't been able to read that I've been able to read and keep up with a lot easier.

I have a few 60s FC'd, including a 3g run of Survive. It's so close to being the St. Scarhand [Standard] unlock... What impresses me is that this file has nearly 1800 notes. I don't think it's difficult, just a bit lengthy as I've been able to consistently FC that file for quite a while.

Let's see...is there anything else? YES!! TWO MORE THINGS!
First...DDRNGGin told me that I'm now ranked #10 on the South-Atlantic Regional Boards! WOOO! I checked it out myself~ :) :) :) Last time I looked at that, I was ranked 24th. Holy skill boosting Batman. I approve of this! I'm glad I'm not in a place like Mid-Atlantic or Canada where you literally have to be upper D6, D7 status to get into the top 10. :P

Last but not least...new profile theme! It's from Shokugeki no Soma! (Food Wars) I'm bummed that the anime ended after 24 episodes, but it's well worth the watch. I'm planning on reading the manga sometime soon. My profile picture is none other than Isami Aldini. Good googly. *cough*

Uhm...yea that's more than enough for now. ;)

Hellooooo FFR-holics!

How have you been? Better? I hope so. :) If you're feeling crappy, then I hope you feel better~

I come to you once again in order to celebrate a personal achievement... What is it you wonder?

It's QUICKDRAW!!! Woooo~ At the moment, 865 FC's = 50% of all FFR Songs FC'd! My hype level is pretty real right now. The only thing that saddens me is that this achievement isn't front page worthy. :( I really think it should be, especially because with new songs being added to the game, it only increases the total number of songs you have to FC in order to unlock the song.

I set a goal to get this token a few months ago...then a cloud came over the site... *see previous random thought* and I re-set my goal to get that achievement once again. I played through the file as well once I got it and it's okies. Kinda seems like a bit of a harder 42/borderline 43, but hey what do I know?

Anyways, other than that... Senorita Bonita isn't that much of a bother for me anymore. I played it a day or two ago and got 5-0-0-0! Like seriously. I don't know if it was just a fluke score or if I could play it again and get another clean SDG. I've been kinda afraid to try...lol

I haven't played Monstrous Turtles much lately due to the other things I've occupied myself with on the site and off the site. (What is wrong with me...?)

Speaking of on-the-site things...why have I gotten myself involved in the TCG? It reminds me of my YGO days where you have to get the best cards...or songs in this case. lol I think sickufully has the first T10? That's pretty awesome!

Also, I was placed in D4 for a tourney due to a rate score jacking up my Leaderboard rank. Needless to say there were many mashed scores. I'm working on being able to read and accurately mash higher difficulty songs. At the moment I can read low-70s, but have the speed & accuracy to relatively hit low 60s.

I've definitely improved at this game. I can see that in the songs I've improved on...such as Creative Happy. I actually FC'd the file earlier tonight. It's not the prettiest FC, but the overall raw score is much better compared to the last time I played it (which was during one of the NIA Rivalry weeks. That song is still annoying as fudge, don't get me wrong.

My profile is mainly dedicated to the awesomeness that is Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter. I've been watching the series (I'm on the Greed Island Arc where everyone is getting ready to take the quiz to earn the 0 card. (Sounds familiar, right? lol) and Hisoka has become my favorite character by far. I can't wait to see how this all pans out.

How are you? If you're like me, you're kinda salty at the moment especially if you're in the loop of what has happened since the first of the month and especially over the past 12-24hrs.

If you've been under a box or simply out of the loop, before continuing further, I suggest you check your Level Ranks and come back. I'll be here...

Back yet? Did you notice something? Remember that song you played and got a fluke score on a song that's now missing? *sigh* Read the front page update from Zageron.

This sucks, especially for players that have really put a lot of effort into improving over the past 6 months (which according to some staff was the last time the site was backed up). If anything, I thought the site was being backed up at least once a month. I've personally been through a similar situation in a professional work environment where everyone in the company lost all of their information (emails, archives, personal settings and saves) because the server hadn't been backed up and it completely crashed. Luckily FFR didn't experience the same fate. Can you imaging losing everything you've been working on and having to start over as if you signed up for the site a few minutes ago?

Pretty sure that everyone would be even more upset than they are now.

Whatever the mistake is that Velocity made was probably one that shouldn't have been made, especially as someone who has been intricately involved in the site's development, improvements, and advancements. He's probably being thrown under the bus as I write this as Zageron has had to do some damage control. (Who knows, I'm just an outsider looking in...) Other than this, I've seen no real hostility towards Velocity as he's often praised for his Engine that has helped to change the way people play and improve with this game. I only recently transitioned to R^3 after I kept getting lag during gameplay. If I could figure out why this happens (too lazy to think about it), then I would fix it and transition back to that engine. (I have absolutely nothing against R^3 as both engines have their strengths and weaknesses)

So, how has this affected me?
- FFR Rank rank increased by over 100. (my Witches Hat(59) SDG has been erased from the leaderboard, but still shows on my Level Rank)
- FFR Average Rank increased by 2x (I was 930ish, now I'm over 2200. I worked hard for Happy Rainbow dang nabit)
- FC Percentage decreased from 48% to 37%. (I lost about 250 FC's. I was going for the token where you have to FC 50% of the songs)
- Missing scores (I did have difficulty 1-41 FC'd, but a good chunk of them are treated as if I've never played them before)
That's all the major stuff I can see for now.

What happens from here? Quite a few players have mentioned they're going to quit or have already quit. Me personally, I'm not going to as this site has been part of my life for nearly 8 years. Many people have come and gone during that time (especially when the site completely went under and you couldn't even access it), but there are still a few of us that continue to stick around throughout the ups and downs.

I guess as the site's staff have become more transparent, things are starting to go a bit downhill per se. Or maybe things are just happening in this random sequence of events. I don't know. I will say that I am thankful for what they do as this is all volunteer for them. Some are forgetting that running and maintaining this site is done on the admin's free time and they're not making a dime. Yes, your scores are no longer there, but it's not like you lost any money from losing those scores.

Another thing that has crossed my mind in all of this is 'What are new/potentially new users thinking?' They come to this site, expecting to join and to have fun playing and the first thing they see is what has happened along with the comments that have been made. I'm pretty sure that'll probably deter people from joining and playing the game.

Hello FFR-aholics,

This post will be April Fool's related as I can't wrap my brain around something. I'm an analytic person who likes to know the ins and outs of things...but maybe I'm over-thinking this...who knows.

First of all combo scoring vs raw scoring. Pretty sure that over 90% of players prefer raw scoring, because one random miss in a file can destroy a combo score, no matter how low your Goods/Averages/Boos are.

What am I in a hootenanny over? It's Piano X Forte... If the raw scoring is implemented, then that would be amazins, but I'm lead to believe otherwise. (other than it being April 1st) But then again, it could just be in the beginning stages and there are still a lot of kinks to work out. Ok, so back to Piano X Forte. I played the file about 45 minutes ago and I got a 1362 combo. (Yay for me, that file is a 63 lol) I missed two notes in dumb places cause fingers.

If you look at the image, the rank on R^3 doesn't match to what shows on my Level Rank...which is always the case once you check your level after improving on a file.

Looking at this image, I got this raw score a couple days ago and it is higher than the one I got earlier because of the lower number of goods. If raw scoring is the case, then shouldn't my 84,230 show on my level ranks instead of the 83,965?

Going back to a previous comment, maybe I'm just over-thinking this because the FFRtrolls are hard at work today.

Ok, that's enough for this random thought. I won't say anything about Monstrous Turtles or Señorita Bonita. :P But I will say that Candor is an awesome fiffer partner.
