Retirement 3 Years Later
Posted on: July 24, 2024, at 11:16:41am   [2 comments]
I just noticed that my retirement announcement was made a little more than 3 years ago and a lot has happened since. The dream job I started didn't last very long, unfortunately. I had an author who had accused me of stealing her book, and claimed that Amazon told her I still had it in my possession despite me returning it. She was so upset over the $10 she had to pay out of pocket for a book I absolutely hated. When I returned it, I had only read 2% so it was within the return guidelines but she told everyone I read the whole thing and then returned it. Well, now that you have some context, it'll make this easier to understand. She had emailed my boss and had her friend (who only knew her side) message my boss' business page over the whole situation. I was then told to separate myself from the company but wasn't let go. A few months later, my boss was training someone with more experience in social media management than I did, and said we'd meet in a few months to talk about me coming back. That business call never happened. I'm convinced to this day that that situation played a HUGE part in that. I don't fault my ex-boss though. She only did what she had to do for the good of her company. The great news stems out of that hard blow. I was hired by an author to initially review her books. So, I took the opportunity and ran with it. I was seeing a growing number of PA (personal assistant) profiles around Facebook and decided to try my hand at that. It would give me a chance to work with actual authors and make connections. Sadly, that person who caused issues before was trying to ruin my new career path. She even succeeded in turning a friend against me, a friend that saw me prove my innocence and she believed the person anyway. Do you know how embarrassing it is to have to explain to authors you PA for that there's this person that's trying to ruin you over you returning a book? It's humiliating. Most of the authors that took me on, parted with me because the situation was weighing on my mental health and I wasn't putting out as much work as I had hoped to (we have maintained friendships for the most part though). Then, the woman I was being paid to review for asked me to be her PA and I accepted REAL fast. Three years later, my PA business is expanding. I am now up to six authors that I PA for, and hope to take on even more. I am now working on my debut novel. I have become friends with a lot of authors, some that are even famous and well-known. This job has been the best thing to happen to me in these past few years. Seeing how far I've come, I can see it was worth the blood, sweat, and tears it took to get me where I am today! I can honestly say that I am NOW working my real dream job, and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Officially Retiring

I have been playing FFR since I was a high school student, and it's been a fun ride. As of lately, I'm barely ever playing due to my new job being such a full load. I recently started my dream job and want to dedicate all my time and effort to that, so it's with great sadness that I say I will no longer be playing, and if I do, it'll be extremely rare. I will continue to come on here and keep in contact with the friends I've made over the years, but playing just isn't in the cards anymore! Thank you to FFR for making the game, and my time on the game, a lot of fun and keep up the good work for current and future players!!!!!♥♥♥♥♥♥

5 Months Later
Posted on: May 12, 2018, at 11:17:53pm   [0 comments]
Well, 5 months ago I had to say goodbye to my uncle. Sadly, the cancer came back, and it came back with a vengeance. It spread from his throat and into his lungs and last I heard, his liver. It's been a rough road, but I"m finally learning to cope with this loss and am moving forward as he would want me to. For everyone that's going through a loss, I can't promise that you'll ever get over it, but I can promise that it gets better as you learn to cope with it! Just wanted to post an update and possibly lend some support to those going through a loss themselves!

Fuck You Cancer!

As some of you may remember, my uncle was a walking miracle almost a year ago. Well, now we're hoping for another miracle on his behalf. We recently found out that his cancer is back for the second time. This time, it's inoperable. It is not only in his throat, but it has spread to his lungs. It was deemed terminal and he's been given a maximum of two months to live. He is also in the hospital fighting for his life, not only because of the cancer, but due to a bad case of pneumonia. This really fucking sucks guys. I hate cancer with a passion. Almost two years ago, I had to watch as cancer took over my aunt and I had to watch her slowly waste away until the day she died. I'm having to go through the same thing with my uncle now. I'm at a loss. I just don't know what to do, I don't know what to say to make things better. I know waking up isn't going to do any good because sadly, this isn't a bad dream, it's a reality. All I can say is, my family could use some prayers, encouragement, positive vibes, just something to get us through this. We are all taking this extremely hard. Thank you guys in advance!

Accepted!

Well, I have some great news! I was accepted into IICSE University's Bachelor of Law (LLB) program! I just have to put in my college application to get my acceptance letter and login info for the college itself! My goal after accomplishing my LLB is to get my LLM (Master's Degree) in International Law. Altogether, I'll be studying there for 4 years and 9 months. After that, it's onto Law School!!!
