Incoming credit changes
We’re changing the structure of credits since the current implementation strikes us as a bit silly. Currently, the cap has been raised from 40 to 60. We slightly changed the counting method so what the game reports and how many credits actually get added might be off-by-one until we update the flash.
In the future, we plan on changing the credit formula to credits / 75,000 and removing the credit cap altogether. This is just a heads up since you will be seeing the amount of credits you earn per song change in the future.
Also, for those of you that play on Velocity’s engine, it now records scores, credits, and replays. You will not be able to load any secret or token songs that you do not have access too, however, because of some new checks we put in place.

First.
Also, don’t change it just, un-cap.

I’d have to agree with Emo_Saur, though either way its a good thing to me, maybe not the newer players though.

Hello, inflation.

Almost great news. I think the formula change from credits/50,000 to credits/75,000 is just gonna slow down the credit accumulation a heck of a lot more than a 40 credit cap.
Also, will the requirements to unlock UNknown Girl be changed from earning 40 credits to 26~27 credits to unlock? 27 credits with the new formula is about the same as 40 credits with the old formula…
Other stuff is awesome, and great work as always. Keep it up.

How can we play on Velocity’s engine? I want to try it out because it looks freaking beautiful.

Awesome.

Kinda screws noobs over tho, since they would have to work 1.5x harder to get credits and they don’t have the option of playing long songs to make up for it.

Also, scores earned on Velocity’s engine DO show up in the level ranks, but their perfect count is 0 for some reason. Oh well.

Awesome! Can’t wait ro see the cap copletely removed, but for now the additional credits is great!
Also, the velocity engine recording stats is sweet, but yeah all stats show 0 perfects. I guess this isn’t a huge problem as long as everyone knows this is the case (and doesn’t think it’s some score hacked run). Hopefully that is fixed soon though.

Perfects are Fixed.
@XXXsmittyXXX, yelruf3:
I’ll look into why it doesn’t work. I’m pretty sure it’s because I get relative URL’s instead of directly linking to FFR’s.

so that means more of the hidden credit songs will be easier to accumulate nice!

Why are people thinking you’re going to be earning credits faster? You now need 1.5x the score previously needed to even get 40 credits…

This system hasn’t been changed in forever. This change looks good ^^

excellent news, sicne alot fo teh buyable songs REALLY take some time to get….i’m still trying to get together 10k tokens for holy orders….
Posted at 8:20am on November 25th, 2010
@-zeroSKILL-: People who can get the current capped score on every play will be getting credits faster. People who don’t ever get 40 credits on a song will be getting them slower. We might also end up looking at things like, changing the scale of secret song unlocks, and scaling the purchased genre to price/difficulty so the easier songs are cheaper, and harder songs are more expensive

So 1300 combo = 2 mil points = 40 credits now… will be like 2600 combo needed for 60? with the 50K – 70K change?
Posted at 9:52am on November 25th, 2010
75K*
Posted at 11:57am on November 25th, 2010
I personally think the easiest song to get 40 credits on is, “Air” Just get about 900-1100 combo by “mashing” xD and you’ll get a high multiplier.

@devonin
i definately woudl say some of teh secret unlocks need to come down….alot are just WAAAY to far up there…just my opinion.
Posted at 2:57pm on November 26th, 2010
Seraphin, I’ve made over 10K a day before, they’re not meant to be so easy you get the 150K ones in a day, hell, I’ve still got 10K to go!
Posted at 7:08am on November 27th, 2010
fuck change
Posted at 12:15pm on November 30th, 2010
It would be cool if you raised the cap on the credits you can earn per song, like from 40 to 50

forget that last comment im retarded

Once again, I shall say it was best the way it was.
An un-cap doesn’t sound like a bad idea, though, if any change should be made.
(Though it already has, I’m sure. Haven’t played in a week or 2)
