Song of the Stormy Night 1/19/2024
As the snowstorm blankets our area, there’s a need for resilience and a reminder to look out for one another. Check on neighbors, especially the elderly, and make sure everyone has the essentials to weather the storm. Power outages are a concern, so it’s essential to have emergency supplies on hand, including blankets, flashlights, and non-perishable food.
In the midst of this wintry chaos, we’d like to share a musical recommendation to add a touch of warmth to your day. Introducing:
The Ballad of Mona Lisa
Musician: Panic! At the Disco
Step Artist: DarkZtar
Song Length: 2:29
Song Style: Alternative Rock
Note Count: 2235
Difficulty: 96
This alternative rock gem is sure to provide a captivating escape as you huddle indoors. Let the evocative sounds of Panic! At the Disco transport you to another world, if only for a moment, amidst the swirling snow outside.
As we weather this storm together, let’s find solace in the power of music, reminding us that even in the coldest of times, there’s warmth to be found in the notes that surround us.
And now a fellow note from the events team:

FFR Hall of Fame 2023 Inductees
After 54 ballots with thirteen nominees to vote for, the final results for the FFR Hall of Fame 2023 are in!
While maybe not a name that’s familiar to newer users – at least for his playing – Samurai was one of the greatest players of his time during his periods of activity. A former judge, Samurai amassed quite the trophy case with three podiums finishes in the highest division of Official Tournaments, and several high-level plays and scores. The fact he’s still rank 55 at this time – despite not being active since the mid 2010s – says a lot, and if he wanted to pick the game back up? His skill is still intact.
While he hasn’t been seen in the FFR forefront in a long while, Samurai has since begun working as a composer for film, and you can also find his music on streaming services.
You could easily justify this title of recognition for T-Force based on his character alone. FFR has gone through massive changes over its lifespan, but he has remained consistent in his dedication to the game and its people. Through kindness, trust, and hard work, T-Force has been there to support our website officially via moderation and the rest by defining our community in the best way one could. He might have spent 10 years helping FFR out on staff, but he spent 17 years making this place better for all of us.
Despite being retired and busier with life outside of FFR these days, T-Force still hangs around to chat with the community and play the game. He may even help host an official FFR event from time to time.
While only appearing now and then, Zageron was a key component in the life of FFR for several years post the Great Server Crash of 2009. Brought onto the development team in 2011 to help work on a never-released engine, Zageron stayed on from 2012 onwards as one of the main system administrators, and ran the site as FFR’s head admin until he ceded that role over to PrawnSkunk.
He still pops up here and there to help on the back end if the need comes, and has even become known for FFR gameplay being one of the first ever one-handed players to unlock the skill token Otaku Speedvibe [Oni] after AAAing AIM Anthem.
Congrats to the inductees, and thank you so much to everyone that took the time to vote!
