September Wrapup
September is coming to an end and as we have said goodbye to summer, we have said hello to many new things on FFR – as well as welcome back to some old. From tier points, to songs of the week, here’s what’s happened in September:
Are you a follower? Keep up to date with all that’s happening at FFR on

And don’t forget to like us on Facebook
Thanks to the ~magical~ development team of FFR, you can now take a peek at who’s roaming in Profile Chat without having to take thirty precious seconds out of your day to step in the chat room. Pretty cool, eh? Take a look at the left sidebar while on a non-forum/non-profile page to see the user list, and what each member’s user-group is.
Tier points are changing here on FFR. Thanks to qqwref, 10+ tier points can now be added to all songs. There will also be new requirements that will include some more lower level user friendly songs. Keep up to date with the tier point changes by following this thread here.
What uses a mouse and spins? That’s right, Spin It Up is making a return to FFR. You can help beta test it by playing and reporting any bugs you find here.
Mannequin? Rat-burgers? That’s right – it’s back! The 5th Official Photo Hunt has been announced and will be starting Oct. 2nd. Get your cameras ready and keep your eyes on this thread for some good laughs!

Kanon x2
So everyone loved Canon in WHEE, which was part of our New User Purchased Song mini-event about 2 months ago. Everyone loved it so much, that we got a whole bunch of Canon in WHEE v2 submissions, as well as some other Canon in D remixes. Kanon-Kanon is another one of those remixes, at a whopping 230bpm, by t+pazolite. It is a solid 10 in difficulty. You can find it in Purchased, and it’s yours for 5000 credits. Props to bmah for the file.
In other, related news, a new subscriber song was released earlier today… {Big Boss} by cornandbeans, stepped by Vote4Nixon. An amazing song with awesome steps, you’re definitely going to want to subscribe just to listen to this song and play this file. AND… it’s not a purchased song! It’s back in funk for the next 3 weeks.

Oh yea we did.. a new FFR Token Challenge.

Check out my new level! It has all you need.
Remember, sometimes searching for the answer is only half the battle — you need to do a little unpacking to get to the real answer within.
Saturday Spin Addition: SIU Goes Loony
As promised, Professor K is back and we’re chalking up one more for the Spin It Up players.
Today’s addition marks dBu’s entry into the game with the song The Lunatic Princess now available for playing. MixMaster gives us a fairly busy spin file full of movement, which you can find located in the difficulty 5 category.
You’ll find a fresh new spin file a few days away as the next Spin It Up addition will hit the game on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Until then, enjoy the game and feel free to participate in the official Spin It Up forum.
Tuesday Spin Addition: Spin to DM
Spin it Up fans will now find their Tuesday spinfile addition has been made after digging deep into the queue.
Inside difficulty level 5, you will now find DM Ashura’s Dies Irae available for play. The MixMasterLar spinfile will keep your mice busy with a couple of cyclone (is this an official term? Well, it is now – multiple spin rotations in succession) sections to break up the busy streams that follow the song’s synth parts.
Since we’re back on schedule, the next song addition will be made on Saturday, so until then, enjoy the game, check out the multiplayer and visit us in the official Spin It Up forums.
Saturday Spin Addition: Chipset Style
We’re back on the normal track this week with your Saturday Spin It Up song being added on … Saturday!
Today’s addition is a nice level 3 difficulty ditty brought to us by Rushjet1. Final Boss Theme is a chipset piece, reminiscent of the 8-scores we all used to enjoy on our NES systems. The song’s spinfile is brought to us by a new face, none other than ElectricWerewolf, and features streams of waves while mixing up some spin patterns during the song’s transitions.
We’d like to again remind everyone that Spin It Up’s multiplayer is functional after some holiday downtime, so don’t be shy and make your way out there! Also, as always, please feel free to leave comments, questions or even find out how to contribute to the game in the official Spin It Up forums.
Spin It Up Rolls Into 2008
While it’s tough times for the kwikster, who is getting all of his wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow, it’s party time for Spin It Up fans who get a triple taste of songs in advance. Since I’m not sure how Tuesday will go since I’ll be stuffed like a turkey with gauze, not only do you get Saturday’s spinfile and not only do you get the public announcement of a song that’s secretly been tucked in the game for almost a month, but at absolutely no charge, you’ll also receive Tuesday’s file of the day two days early!
First up is Smitty’s Downfall, a song that switches up tempos from a ballad of synth to piano intervals, by DrugstoreCowboy, which I snuck into the game in mid-December without telling anybody. The spinfile by MixMasterLar is located in difficulty level 5. Make sure you stop by DrugstoreCowboy’s site and give his works a listen so he can freak out even more about his hits and number of listeners.
Fresh off the tree are the songs Spicy Curry OC Remix by djpretzel and Geno’s Forest 8-Bit Rock by XBrav. Spicy Curry is a delicious spin off of Dhalsim’s stage theme from Street Fighter II, featuring a spin-filled difficulty level 4 file by MixMasterLar. Coolboyrulez0 nets his first solo addition to the game with a bit of a tricky level 5 file, which pays homage to Super Mario RPG’s action figure turned hero.
Spin It Up players will be pleased to know the multiplayer is once again functional, and those who haven’t been following the difficulty changes should visit the official Spin It Up forum. Until then, wish me luck and have fun spinning.
Spin It Up 2007 Final: Party Time!
Thanks to Internet issues, the final Spin It Up additions for the year are a day late, but with the final 2007 update, you’ll be happy to know that six new songs are in-game and ready to go!
With New Year’s on the horizon, most people will be joining up with others to celebrate the turning of the calendar, and for today’s update, our spinfile artists have united to produce six collaboration spinfiles:
The Wait is Over! by KungFuChicken – difficulty level 5 by Jugglin-Lar
Crimson Crescent by Xi – difficulty level 7 (located in 6 due to game issues) by Sulfer-bmah
Amefuri Konako by Nekomimi Mahoutsukai – difficulty level 8 (located in 6 due to game issues) by Lar vs. -kitsune-
Almost at the End (SiU Edit) by MixMasterLar – difficulty level 2 by MixMasterLar–kitsune-
Ievan Polkka by Otomania feat. Miku – difficulty level 5 by Zero-Lar
Airman Remix by 586rick – difficulty level 5 by SulferDragon-Coolboyrulez0
Through December alone, 38 new spinfiles have been introduced in-game, with a total of 76 songs added since September! We will be returning to our normal addition schedule beginning Saturday, Jan. 5, and we look forward to your continued support of Spin It Up.
December Spin Celebration – Holidays Approaching!
Saturday is upon us once again, but fret not, you won’t be bombarded by another marathon post, but there is still a good amount of new material to be found in Spin It Up. It’s week three in the December Spin Celebration and if you can’t guess what today’s theme is, perhaps you should take a good look at a calendar.
In recognition of the holidays, you can now find three new songs in Spin It Up, modeled after the merry holiday of Christmas, all produced by on-site regulars:
{Christmas Grooves} by cornandbeans – difficulty level 1 by nestlekwik
A Christmas Nightmare (Vocal Mix) by /DJS\ – difficulty level 5 by SulferDragon
Jingle Bells by DJ Scratchin’ – difficulty level 1 by MixMasterLar
And, of course, I realize not everyone celebrates Christmas, but, unfortunately, I couldn’t find any other traditional holiday songs, so in the spirit of Dec. 22, the first official day of winter, here are three winter-themed songs that join the game along with the SiU staples Snowfall [Final Mix] (difficulty 3) by ArcSynth and Field of Snow (difficulty 6) by KgZ:
Snow by Cranky – difficulty level 5 by nestlekwik
Snowstorm by -API- – difficulty level 1 by -Kitsune-
Cold Breath by Shiki – difficulty level 5 by jugglinguy
On two other notes, at this time, we realize the Spin It Up multiplayer is currently not working. We will have the matter fixed as soon as possible. On a better note, MixMasterLar and I have recorded all of the top 10 scores of difficulties 1-4 as of Friday, Dec. 21. You can view the updated top 10s in the Spin It Up forum’s dedicated thread. Tomorrow, we also anticipate updating the personal player rankings thread to reflect the updated top 10s.
Thank you for everyone’s support of Spin It Up through the year as we near the final update of 2007 for the game. I’ve seen many of our Spin It Up players are not visiting the forum, where you can receive a boatload of information, learn how to contribute to the game and register for temporary top 10 rankings, so don’t delay any further – get over to the Spin It Up forum now!
