Sure you may feel that way (w/r/t her work and her death) and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that

but being like "who gives a **** lol" when there are people who really care about her death or looked up to her because they were touched by her work in some way or another and not being respectful and saying maybe something like, i don't know, "didn't listen to her music much but R.I.P." (try typing it or saying it out loud...there, did that hurt?)

is just being an asshole! it's simple!

also don't try to victimize yourself by framing us as if we're saying "THIS GUY DOESNT AGREE WITH US! ATTTAAAAACK!". you're better than that foil

i do think that weighing the death of a really popular singer in the face of "african children dying" or whatever is sort of dumb and reductive and useless B)

I personally would be seriously pissed at you, mostly because I already lost my mother. So basically, just watch what you say on subjects like these.

I can't feel sympathetic about a drug addicted pop star I don't know! That's my point. Your parents? That's a totally different ballpark. They can't be compared. You grow up with your parents. They house you, feed you and love you (in some cases). Whitney Houston? I've maybe heard a song or two of hers, but other than that, no real impact and she gets to be in the news for two weeks.

2) oh my god of course whitney houston is going to be featured in the news whereas your parents aren't. do you really think the news is going to cover Every Person That Dies. no they will cover people who made an impact on the world or our country at large, as houston did through her music
