I just don't get the sensationalism. Whitney had a few nice ups in her career, but she fell to drug addiction, and hasn't really been relevant up to this point. I'm sorry man, but that's just how I feel about this.

btw when there's rumors about drugs having a hand in celeb deaths the interest surrounding them triples so that helps

I think it's just terrible that the general populace is infinitely more absorbed and affected by the "legacy" of a drug addicted pop singer. I can ask people questions like, "Who were the last 3 major celebrities to pass away and what legacy did they leave?" And I'm sure they'd all nail it. I could ask these same people about 3 current events happening in the world right now that are seriously ravaging countries and killing hundreds of people a day and they'd have no clue about any of it. The "media" has numbed our minds to what is important. Sure, Whitney Houston was a great artist. Can't argue it. But I just hate the explosion of sympathy and attention a recently dead pop star gains. It's just kind of senseless.
