Well, again, I don't personally care all that much. But I understand her impacts and why people *would* care, which is why it's pretty dumb for certain people to go out of their way to let everyone else know exactly how much they don't care. It's just silly.

A more interesting discussion though would be what's considered newsworthy and how much time should be spent on such things.

But "who gives a ****?" every single time a talented celebrity dies = retarded.

afaik people only care if they have loved anything a celebrity has produced. If Billy Mays weren't popular because of his pretty much irl caps-lock adverts, people would be like "who?" and "who gives a crap?"

I've actually never heard of Whitney Houston before.

But generally speaking, it's better just to keep the "who gives a ****" comments to yourself - while it should be seen as "this isn't that big of a deal to me", that's not how it's interpreted by others.

I don't really understand some people in this thread...if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it. That doesn't mean you are restricted to one opinion; it's just a matter of being respectful as many here have already stated.

For those of you who don't care about her, great, you've already reinstated that many times in various ways. Just leave it be to the people who do care about her. If your friend is going to his aunt's birthday party, you're not going to crash into her party and yell out how much you don't care.

If you don't care, then there's nothing of value for you to post here. Make a separate thread if you want to make such arguments. It's not rocket science. Some people here really need to go back to their kindergarten values of respecting others, whether it's Whitney OR the people who do put the time to show their acknowledgements.

I shouldn't have to say this at all. The attitudes here have been absolutely outrageous though. Leaving people to make crap posts is the silent acceptance of a declining quality of attitudes in this forum. Don't lower forum expectations down the drain.
