Organism, you dis the mainstream so much that I was being ironic. I have nothing against the mainstream in any way shape or form. Hell, my 2nd favorite band in history is AFI. They have music videos on MTV and had a #1 selling album not too long ago. My favorite guitarists are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Paco Hernandez, and Alexi Laiho. I can name a bunch that I love though, among those are Vai, Satch, Petrucci, Rusty Cooley, and others (Hate malmsteen, but that's a different story)

I'm far from someone who hates the mainstream, and that picture you posted of me is going on a year old. No one is 100% original, and I hardly claim to be. I know I have an "emo" look, and I couldn't certainly care less.

Long story short, if a band is good then they're good, and whether they're good is largely based on opinion, but not on whether 1,000,000 people have bought their album or 1,000.

I was considering mentioning Rusty Cooley, great player.

Fair game, I retract some of my statements.

          I like some of Malmsteen's playing, but he's a jackass, so I can't say that I'm a fan.

Cool thing about Cooley is that everything he does is on a 7 string which is really amazing. And if you're into those guys I'd really consider listening to Paco. He's a friend of mine from Spain and is an amazing player I think.

Heaven or Hell 2006 is my favorite by him. Beautiful Metal Queen is amazing too.

                That guy can really shred

What's funny is Vai's JEM Universe is the main inspiration for most of the seven string guitars out now.

Vai plays a 7 string? I only have one album of his, it's called "The Ultra Zone". Vai is amazing, I just had no idea he played a 7 string. I knew of Cooley and that was about it. That guy I linked you to has used a 7 string for his 2 latest songs, since he hasn't had it that long. Faustian Nightmare and Beautiful Metal Queen were done on his 7 string.

They arent breaking up. They have had to cancel a few shows due to food poisoning.

yea i know that but i heard mikey was leaving the band.....which is like the band breaking up because if mikey leaves then gerard (whos mikeys brother for those who don't know) will probably leave too and once gerard and mikey leave there is no more point to mcr cause gerard writes most of the lyrics

Vai plays both 6 and 7 string, along with an assortment of double and triple necks. His main signature guitar is this. It's amazing. I have one, and it's the best guitar I've ever laid eyes on.

Mikey's just gotten married, so he's taking a little break from PERFORMING, and they have a replacement bassist until he's back.

Yea, it's a gorgeous guitar. Ibanez makes some nice gear, even though their guitars aren't 100% for me. The necks just don't feel comfortable for me. How's the tremelo on that thing though? That's the main problem with a lot of guitars, is they can look and sound great, but the bridge can be a piece of ****. I'm personally a Jackson and Schecter fan. Kinda sad that Jackson was bought out by Fender though.

EDIT: and yea, if you're a die hard MCR fan then you should know about what's going on with the band.

This guitar is like an Ibanez RG Prestige on steroids. I personally love the trem, and the neck plays faster than any other guitar I've played.

Try out some of the Prestige models. My favorites are the RG and S models.

I've looked at the S models. It's what Herman Li plays aren't they? Yea, I go to Guitar Center and I'm overwhelmed with options as to what to play lol. Jacksons are personally the most comfortable necks I've ever played. The only Ibanez that my GC here has are either hollow or semi-hollow, and even though they're nice, it's not the sound I want out of an electric.

I'm currently saving up every bit of money I have to get a PodXT Amp modeler and Effect box so I can start creating some more tones. All I got is a Boss DS-1 >.>
