I hate MCR. I just despise their overall writing tactics, as I do with most emo bands. They definitely aren't the best band, either. There are many bands, in my opinion which is usually based on how the band mates fit together and utilize their abilities to be technical, that surpass MCR. Maybe I'm just not "scene". I never really like smoking a cigarette after each band was done playing. Nor do I enjoy sitting in the corner and talking really loud in between songs because I'm an attention whore.

Could anyone write a list of all the emo bands that are in the mainstream?
Most of you just confuse it for, uh, Alternative Rock. Spoiler: there are no emo bands, there are bands that write emo SONGS, but no album consists of CONSTANT EMO SONGS.

That said, the only song I know that I like by MCR is Vampires Will Never Hurt You, and I don't think bands regularly play their old songs while on tour, especially with other bands on the same tour. So no, I wouldn't see them live unless I taste tested their new album.

My Chemical Romance is a good band IMO and I have seen some of there live shows on Youtube. I hate people who don't like emo's and stuff, especially the music. I'm not emo, but I have emotionally broken down a few times and it's not fun. I even did consider cutting myself once but I didn't and I'm glad I didn't, but it's not fair to judge and emo before you realize how much pain they have gone through (I haven't gone through that much pain, just little relationship/family problems that aren't that important).

But I do have to agree with my friend that they are kind of copying off Green Day. After they went on tour with Green Day they made an album that was a rock opera (just like American Idiot). Also, the MCR lead singer died his hair blonde shortly after Billie Joe Armstrong did . Either way, I like Green Day and My Chemical Romance.

I love your enthusiasm, now try and channel it into something worthwhile, like hanging yourself.

MCR have some ALRIGHT riffs, but their over-dramatics, bad drummer, and overall bad rhythm section ruins them. I was watching videos of them playing live, and their bass player was standing bow-legged. He looked like he could barely even hold up his bass. A good bass player (like Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) is creative, he switches up his styles, from regular finger picking to using picks, to popping and slapping, while MCR's bass player plays 3-4 note progressions in EVERY song.

MCR could be a lot better if they dropped the goth style marching band uniforms, if their bass and drum players got better, and their singer un-dyed his damn hair.

I bought their first CD, thought they sounded rediculous, hate the fools who follow them, and wonder how such amateurishly made crap can be considered music.

Go see a real band in concert and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Actually, MCR's new album (that I know of) isn't a "copy of a copy of a copy", or whatever **** you're trying to say. From what I have heard, it sounds completely original. The band is different from other, what did you call them? "Emo" bands, and I would know because I don't listen to any other bands of that genre. MCR had something special that made me want to listen to them, so I do.

I saw them about a month ago. They played a great show and sounded really good along with many special effects (fire, confetti, ect.). I was standing next to the most obnoxius kid in the entire place. He was this HUGE gey guy in his 20's who was singing all the words and pretended to faint every time the lead singer would shake his butt.
