Thats not saying never At this time simply means at the current state the interview was had they had no plan to at the time. It doesn't say Never etc. It's just time related.

If you want the keyword from the quote by Hideo Kojima, here is what I remember most about the press release he had concerning a port of Metal Gear Solid IV:

"We have no plans to release Metal Gear Solid IV on any other console at this time."

Do you know that plans change? Did you see that little flexible statement at the end there? Did you know that the producer of DMC4 also said he had no plans to port his game to another console? Did you know they also ended up porting DMC3 to PCs?

Whether it is at this time or not, the fact remains that unless they announce between E3 and Fall, MGS4 is right on board for PS3. If it does come to the 360, it will be a matter of money, not console appeasement.

I imagine if it ends up being a matter of money then it pretty much goes hand in hand with the sales of it on that console not meeting expectations by quite a bit.

No, everything comes down to money in the long and short run. I promise you that had the PS3 been the same price as the 360, the Wii would actually had competition right off the bat. But if wishes were fishes, the world would be an ocean. =P

Well, yeah if something cost less more people would buy it.

What he's saying is that if not enough people have a PS3, Konami will port MGS4 to other consoles to make money off of the franchise.

Yes, congratulations.

Looking at it from a negative point of view, they supplied the country with over a million and only ~15% of that sold.

Nintendo supplied them with 400k or so and every single one sold.

So uh, remind me again. What's better: selling all of your units or selling very few of them?

Some retailers are already having price cuts on it and offering cheaper bundles to get rid of them. eBay.co.uk has a bunch of PS3s for sale that are selling for less-than-retail already.

Oh, and it's really sad that the press had to force an audience to have spurts of fake celebrations in order to make the event seem more pompous. Really, really sad. It's worse that Sony pushed this publicity stunt with the free TVs just to get some news spot.

You must've not read the article clearly because it said that EUROPE was allocated 1 million, not the UK itself. The allocation to the UK sold out which is amazing actually. TV stunts, it's still a major achievement for Sony, sarcastic comments or not.

You got me on the one million, but they still didn't sell out. Initial reports say that ~1,000,000 shipped ended up selling ~400,000.

I have never felt so ashamed of my country. But then again i suppose 90% of the country is ruled by chavs who reconise ps3 as being "cool with shootan games an gta an killin".

I'm not really sure how they managed to eat sonys **** after how much they ****ed over Europe with a huge grin.

If you think people are buying a Wii so they can swing around the WiiMote to look cool, you're missing out. It's a fun, inexpensive system that lets you download old games and play them on one system with free internet connectivity, a nice social networking aspect, and fun games.
