Two years from now it's going to be either 360 or PS3.

360 if it keeps going and had a year head start.

PS3 if it comes out with some exclusive games.

Wii if 8 year olds suddenly make lots of cash...

360's year-long head start is about to be passed. What does that tell you about a year-long head start.

PS3 will have very few exclusive titles if recent happenings are to be trusted. They lost Grand Theft Auto, they lost Assassin's Creed, they lost Virtua Fighter, they lost Guitar Hero, and rumor says Devil May Cry / Metal Gear Solid aren't far behind.

Remind me again why you think Wii is targeted to 8-year olds? If you manage that, I'll remind you that adults are buying and playing this system for themselves. The entire concept of Wii is that it's fun for everyone, not just the 18-24 demographic video games are associated with.

Hmmm I'm easily gonna have to go with the Wii on this one. The Wii is going to slaughter the Xbox 360 and the PS3 this year. There are so many people anticipating the releases of a bunch of the upcoming Wii games, which means people are going to still rapidly buy Wiis. I cant really say that as much about the Xbox 360 and definitley not the PS3.

unda doggs, just because you don't like something doesn't mean everybody doesn't. Besides, this isn't about which is best, it's about which is selling more. At this rate, the Wii going to be the winner by far in 2 years, for sure. Who knows what the coming 2 years will bring, though. Maybe PS3 will get massive price cuts and tons of 3rd party exclusives and zomg hax.

But at this rate, PS3 is gonna fall hard and Wii is gonna dominate.

Sony already said there's no PS3 price cut until at least 2009.

Microsoft might cut the price to $350 or $300, but nothing is confirmed. They just recently broke even on production cost -> retail cost.

tugz, I have well over 200 hours on the console. 50 for Twilight Princess (twice), 50 for Elebits, and plenty of individual game time on my other five games. I'm looking to double my game collection in 2007 alone to fourteen games.

Video games aren't a chore. You don't have to play them for three hours every day. I'm in college and most of the time, I don't even turn the Wii on. But I wouldn't turn anything on because I just don't have the time. Wii has games that take the least amount of time to start up and chisel out a bit, and I still don't have the time for them.

Soon as I get working again I am headig straight for a Wii. They released a classic controller which has been out for quite some time now and that's will make me a future happy customer.

I'm looking forward to a lot of great games coming out for the Wii. The PS3 will not do good with the lack of exclusive titles. The Wii is a fun system that is only going to get better in the long run.

But Nintendo is notorious for making customers for playing the waiting game. I mean, i gave up on waiting for what would be Twilight Princess like a year after wind waker came out. (yes, i was a victim of dissappointment when they showed us the sweet graphics and gave us wind waker) I mean, it took at least a year before nintendo released a decent mario platforming game, which i thought should have been a release title. Gamecube has had too much of a drought period of time when there were no awesomely amazing new titles released, and that's my worry with the Wii is that they are promising us very good titles, but I just hate waiting though. That's why I'm still going with the 360 in this case, is that they are putting out a steady stream of good titles, and it's more for the casual gamer, which is generally the target audience these developers want to reach. PS3 is screwed though, i mean, are we really looking forward to a new final fantasy? all of their franchises have been on other systems.

That's because Gamecube had very little third party support. Most of the third party developers went to PS2.

Though it goes without saying that all consoles had a drought toward the end of their life span. The meat of PS2's library comes from 2001-2005, really. XBOX had nothing remotely appealing in its last year or two of existance. People just played Halo 2 online or whatever.

The current "drought", as I explained, is no more than fanboy greed for exceedingly good games. These kids just eat games up like they're cheap desserts or something. There's no savory involved. It's just like "well i beat this game after 20 hours better go buy another one and throw this one away or something"

I say that the PS3 would be top in 2 years.
To me Metal Gear Solid 4 / 1080p bluray / God of War 3 / 6-axis controller / Kingdom Hearts / FFXIII / Tekken 6 / GTA4 / free online / and HOME will be enough to keep me entertained with out the other systems.
Just my opinion.
