The way things are now, it seems like the PS3 going to be last this race. I'm not even considering getting a PS3, because the only reason I can see for getting a PS3 is so that I can say I have one. That alone doesn't sell (many) systems.

Only next-gen console I own right now is a Wii, and I am FINE with that for now. Still working on a full completion of ExiteTruck and I'm playing through Sonic as well. I'm waiting eagerly for SSBB, Metroid Prime 3, and Mario Galaxies.

I really want to get a 360, too, as it looks like ithas a REALLY good library of games out and should tide me over for quite a long time.

And if that's still not enough, I just got my Xbox working again recently, and there's still a bunch of PS2 games I don't have, but want.

Now I'm a Nintendo Fan Boy, so I'm obviously going to say that the Wii is all that and soo much better than then the 360 and PS3 (which it is )

But lets face the facts here guys-the Wii appeals to ALL audiences not just true blue gamers. So even if the Wii doesn't have many good games (already has some really good games), it'll always appeal to any audience, thus giving it the title of most popular.

I think that the X-Box 360 and Nintendo Wii will be up there pretty high with other consels in the future.

But I don't have to worry about it because i have both.

I want a Wii for one reason only Squeek: Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I've gotten so into SSBM and the tournament scene that getting SSBB is a life-or-death thing for me. If a good enough game comes out for Wii after Brawl, I'll pick that up too.

I want a PS3 because of the fact that it has the most potential to carry on long past its prime. I want to experience all the games I grew up with on PS2 on the PS3. It's more of a Brand loyalty thing really. I have no qualms against Microsoft. They have developed some pretty kickass games. However, I split them into two groups: Microsoft for my PC needs, and Sony and Nintendo for my console needs. =P

In fact, I have lots of proof that most of those games won't carry over onto PS3. The only developers I've heard who are remaining totally exclusive "as of now" are Hideo Kojima studios for Metal Gear Solid and Insomniac games for Ratchet and Clank.

It seems a lot of people have that same mindset that the glory of a previous console will carry over, because a lot of people bought a PS3 when it has absolutely nothing worth owning a PS3 for on it right now unless you wanted a cheap Blu-Ray player.

Believe me, I feel the same way. But it's going to take a lot more than just Ratchet and Clank 192038098 and Metal Gear Solid to get me to drop $600 on a video gaming console. Heck, I bought a used PS2 for about $40 seven years into its life because I had no reason to own one until all of my friends moved away and I could no longer borrow their consoles.

Well until I see, "ALL PS3 GAMES ARE BEING PORTED TO THE XBOX 360" then I will stay with my decision to get a PS3. Also, Tibs is waiting for me to get a PS3 so we can kick ass together.

This is a game machine that will set you back SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS. AND FOR WHAT?! FOUR EXCLUSIVE GAMES?!

I don't know what you're seeing in it, but the developers who made all the games that made the PS2 the best in the last generation have all jumped ship! RPGs are going to Wii, quirky puzzle games like Katamari are going to Wii (Katamari itself is going to all three systems), adventure games are going to Wii, and all of the games for the older, "hardcore" gamer demographic have gone to 360. And the list goes on.

I have absolutely no authority to stop you from spending $600 on a video game console that has literally no potential to be what it is you want it to be, but I'll keep trying anyway. I don't even care what you end up with. I just don't want Sony to feel like the way they handled the PS3 was justified. No video game console should ever cost more than $300. You can get a pretty nice computer cheaper than you can get a PS3. And my parents really could use a computer rather than a massive energy-sucking dust-catcher with no future in sight.

Well if Xbox360 gets free online and something like HOME and gets MGS4 and gets Tekken 6 and gets the inevitable titles such as God of War 3, Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XIII, and bluray ..
yeah i would probably go for the 360
