least used:
-Ice Climbers, Zelda, Y. Link, Peach, & Luigi on melee matches
-Ice Climbers (again), Yoshi, Shiek (or Zelda), DK, & Link on tourneys

(ps my most used on melee is my top 5 in order )

I havn't played SSBM in a while (i'm just waiting it out on SSBB!), but I used to be pretty good. My mains were Pikachu, Pichu (a suprisingly good character), Jigglypuff, and my all time best- Peach.

As Peach, I found out that not many people can really stand up to her. She has one uber projectile (turnips), and defense move (toad), and some nice shove moves to get her past characters. Really, the only person who stood in my way was Fox, and Falco, but there both so over-powered it doesn't really matter who you are.

I think for worst character, it goes to Mewtwo, Kirby, and DK. DK is just way to slow, his attacks are strong but none of his moves are quick enough to fight a competant player. Kirby had the makings of a good character, but the underpowered him so much that it didn't even make sense. His attacks did next to nothing, his B-Attacks were ok at best, though his air attacks were nice, most players would knock him out before he gets the chance. Mewtwo is the best out of the three I think. He's slow, and his attacks are even worse, but he has the best throws in the game, and has a shadow ball to finish up his competers. Though, he's weak, and'll fly off the stage in no time, thanks to his slugishness.

and I personally think that peach is not "that" good at ssbm

Why?

I think its just you havn't seen a real player play as her, she has nice priority, good recovery, her speed isn't dreadfull, and she's heavy enough to stay on the field.

yes people say jigglypuff is the worst character in the game but i kick as with her but i mostly kick ass with fox and marth.
yea ive known it was online and i almost got all the parts for it all i need is that pso game for the cube u could check on youtube as well it is there i believe they tell u a website.

It mostly all depends on the player who is playing as the character. Like if someone who is really good with Peach plays as her, then obviously Peach will kick ass. But if some noob plays as Peach then Peach will suck.

I'm good with everyone (yes even Ice Climbers and GaW) but my best is definitely Mario. My back-ups are Link, Zelda/Sheik(Sheik more) and Samus.

And I agree with liltiger3. There's such a prejudice against Game and Watch, Ice Climbers and the girls(except Samus). It really depends on who uses the character. I was at a tournament and my friend had to vs. the best player there. My friend chose Mario and, don't get me wrong, he's not the greatest player but he's good. Anyway, the other guy chose Peach. It was a 6 stock battle and my friend only killed him twice.XD

All characters are not equal, some characters are better than others, really. Granted, each character can kill one character easier than another, and so forth, but if there was a Link vs. Kirby match, with both evenly matched players, Link would win, because quite frankly, Link is better.

G&W isn't a horrible character, but compared to Fox and Falco, you'll need to be pretty good with him to stand up agaisnt either of them. G&W players are minorities, mainly because his moves are slightly lacking, and really vary on the character you're playing agaisnt. If your playing agaisnt a Samus, then G&W will do fine because he has his Catch ability. If your facing a Roy or Marth, you can create a barrier of sausages to defend yourself. If your facing a Yoshi, you better god well know what your doing.

Ice Climbers are excellent, and I've never seen any real bashing of them (save GameFAQS board, but dont' get me started on that). It's just the Ice Climbers are hard to get good with, and take a bit more strategy to know what your doing than other characters.

I'm best with: Ice Climbers, believe it or not, they are REALLY good (I can KO anyone of my friends easily with them, it's just a matter of how good you are at dodging and timing to damage them), Dr. Mario, Luigi, and Link/Young Link.

Ice Climbers are my favorite. I'm really good with them and I don't lose very often as them. It took me a lot of practice to become good with them, but it was worth it.
