Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
Quick stuff analyzing new people
eva is leaning town for me, esp. with her answer to the question that I posed
Because it's mostly wrong in principle (in my opinion). Having IC really means there's one person you can trust. It means every single person has to be incredibly cautious when talking to the IC, because even town can say/do something really stupid and end up looking really wolfy. (see case: j-rodd/fiction). However, I'm really playing off the fact that eva's new and hasn't put too much thought into all of this. The fact that she's already put the IC in a fairly optimistic place tells me loads about her view, assuming she isn't trying to purpousefully mask her feelings, which I think she isn't. An honest answer that she thought of. If she was a wolf, I think she'd have definitely put much more thought into this.
honestly, it's not that much of an "advantage", and drizz puts it much better in her post, but still not quite up to what I was looking for
In urgency, yes. IC can hopefully be a good resource for that, but only because IC is confirmed town. Mafia statement is much better than eva's, however you can replace IC with "all non-mafia". Everyone's a threat, everyone needs to be cautious. This is also why I disagree so much with your statements defending j-rodd earlier
"I think that danceguy is the most suspicious right now because he keeps trying to raise more suspicion for many people, instead of choosing one person."
"I think he's the least suspicious because he states his opinions on a lot of things"
Something just doesn't connect between the logic of these two statements. danceguy is suspicious...because he keeps trying to raise suspicion for lots of people. however, j-rodd is not suspicious because he states his opinions on alot of things. There's just a major disconnect right here that I'm fairly sure I don't have to explain.
Her last post I linked is just playing super-overly cautious and conservative, which shouldn't be seen, at least this early in the game. It's been re-iterated in the thread I'm pretty sure, but we need activity and pushes. "I don't want him to be killed if he's really a townsperson" can apply to literally every single player in the game. And the second sentence offers no logical reasoning to not go for j-rodd.
However, I really do think it's a bit of new player naievity on her part, because I still have my hunches on j-rodd flipping SK.
======
What worries me about the new players is that (at least from what I did during the challenge board game) I really played up the fact that I was new, chatting to people how "oh I hope I do well" or "I hope i don't mess up or be really bad" and shit.
so like, stuff like that won't fly. You can't sit back and try to flail your arms in the hopes that you do something right, you need to sit back, and think about what you need to do. kthx
basically, your input is valued, because you two come from a perspective that no-one else has :P
again, leanning much more town from eva, not so much drizz. V offers much explanation on TPS, go read his posts. And I do agree that the fluctuation of responses is kinda alarming. Also, j-rodd/fiction seems SK-ish to me.
I do have more, although unsure as to what I think is right to post lol
also, drizz, I don't know if you're just forgetting, or if you didn't actually read the thread, but pressure is needed. shouldn't have no vote placed at this point
