Can we refrain from the Rushy/GS debate and OP's shitpost? I want to keep this thread open for the discussion it was meant to have.

Nothing personal, but this is a serious thread with serious measures and we need to come together to move on with FFR.

Just please, keep any posts on topic and if Admin/Mods remove your messages then I don't feel bad because this needs to stay on topic.

yeah! that's pretty good imo. a lot of people dont want to make posts like this out of the blue bc its only like one line of text and they think it is like a waste of content or something but i think it is worth stressing that even things that sound like vacant platitudes go a long way when they actually have feeling behind them.

I don't feel that there is a lot for me to add, but I would like to extend my gratitude to the staff for all they do. Nobody is being paid to update and run the site, and in light of that I appreciate the time and effort they put into making what updates they can and keeping this site alive for as many years as they have.

As much as I am upset about no longer being part of the FFR TCG, I can respect the decisions made, but I felt that this discussion is much more important than my task at hand with the FFR TCG. Namely, is there any certain position that the Administration team currently has in this? I know Zageron wanted to get down to talking about how to fix it on Page 2, but it sort of spiraled out of control from there.

Guys, this has already been going for so long, every time a thread tries to be serious about this situation all I see is everyone provoking eachother and trying to "win" the argument, or prove their point "right", when there's nothing to win or to be proven especially on this topic. Why continue arguing mindlessly when you can step back a little and realize that you can end it the easy way? Just acknowledge what the other person is saying instead of completely contesting it, trying to win. There is nothing to win here. Don't let your anger blind your decisions.

full disclosure from me:

- i'm really not happy how users are acting
- the fact that users are complaining about shit after noticeable movement has been done is absolutely ridiculous; people have become complacent
- i'm not and have not been happy about the lack of transparency on staff on occasion, moreso in the past but i'm not on enough to see it now
- both sides have numerous flaws that has personally made FFR uninhabitable to me anymore

users likely can see that my activity has completely plummeted because i've grown annoyed with FFR and more fond of osu!mania as well as increased my activity with ITG, and it's because I legitimately cannot stand the lack of organization/maturity in some cases

and:

Ask AJ why he quit: hint, it's because the ratio of respect for the massive amount of work he put into the site versus the amount of unwarranted shit he got from unappreciative, entitled assholes just made it all not worth doing. After being staff for a while, I see where he's coming from.

The problem is when someone is put on the defensive which is why I mentioned the short version "be a part of the resolution, not the problem."

If you disagree with someone, explain why but do so in a manner that shows you aren't trying to put the person on the defensive. Once you put someone on the defensive, that opens a new can of worms. Being staff is a thankless job and users need to see that.

One could see it this way: It takes two seconds to make a thoughtless claim bashing someone. It takes hours to unsuccessfully resolve an issue someone is not willing to cooperate with.

To be fair this is exactly what the thread feels like for me right now, and that could probably go for a couple others here too.

Threads like this make me sad. I barely come on the site anymore and when i do, I see threads bashing players or staff, or it's about what can we do to fix this or that and It nearly always ends in the same circle-jerk elitism with the thread getting locked. I just don't get it.

All this arguing & disagreeing between each other has made me really tired. (Not sarcastically or metaphorically speaking, I'm just really drained of energy.)

I'll come back to this tomorrow in the morning to see if anything was added to the thread, but as of right now it just feels like this got chewed up, and spit out. Just like Zenith's thread, instead of making any real progress in trying to resolve issues, it just made it known, and created more.

In all honesty, as long as this thread was recognized throughout FFR today/tonight, that's all that matters. There's no more reasons to backlash at staff when one way or another there will be change for the worse or the better.

This thread is only a step in that process of change that'll happen noticeably and behind the scenes. As FFRians, we cannot commit civil war against each other when FFR itself is on the brink of extinction. We have to try our hardest to move on with ourselves and create professional relationships with our staff and members alike.

I think it's safe to say we can all rest on this topic for the rest of the night and see later down the line what effects it might or might not have had. Hopefully this truly is a stepping stone in bridging community and staff as well as working out any problems within both of these groups.
