If your advice to lower division players is to simply not play them how are they supposed to challenge themselves and get better? Also, why demolish the hopes of those say in d5 who are working on their public level ranks? The hard songs are gonna be good for a lucky few and ruin the experience for serious players who are not at your levels.
I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to look at it from an outside perspective. I'm not all that opposed to letting some harder songs in.
what you dont seem to get is that, like some people said a few times in other threads or w/e, this game isn't really meant to be 100%'d. and No I never said to not play them, I said if you're to complain about them, don't play them, there's a difference. Also, I see no such thing as demolishing hopes (unless you were talking about completing this game, which sounds silly to me since you can always get better)

You say "but what about all those players who are sick of mashing every file?", but that's not how you challenge yourself and get better. You improve by playing files higher than your skill level and comfort zone, which there will still be newer files in that difficulty.

I'm D5 and I'm all for this idea

The experience of this game is to have fun (like any game should) and some people have fun by challenging themselves.
this thread should be retitled "i want harder files to play"
you want harder files? step harder files
dump files shouldnt be allowed in game ever
the difficulty of the file is dictated by the song. songs that make for harder files are also usually shittier.
this thread is stupid
Dude get out, you're the only one here not bringing any real argument and just saying shit. You could have said "You could try to step files that you think will fit that difficulty and see if they get in" but no, you had to say my idea is stupid obviously.
And to Rubix, I agree that the lenght has something to do with the overall difficulty of a file, but we can't have like plenty of 10 minutes+ files unless they are still fun to play and not repetitive.
Okay, one second, I hope that you guys understand that I've read the threads youve read about this elitist nonsense; I do not agree with them in any sense. I spent at least 2 years of my life playing strictly dump/vibrate files on SM, I enjoyed them very much! What I am trying to say is some people have goals they would like to attain! Ex double digit av rank or something, and before we swamp the public ranks with 80+ files we should think about how it might change the atmosphere of the game; is that so bad? To be honest I feel like the game is evolving in difficulty as you guys get better and better! Soon FGOs will become FMOs and so on. I've been on this site for a while and have seen the difficulties become what I never could have imagined! It IS a great thing for the game but maybe we should think about making a exclusive option for those who really want this to happen.

But why ? Why make the files for us exclusive ? Why couldnt such files have their place in public files
I see users submitting charts from the same music artists all the time. It definitely is a big deal. FFR has many permissions, and only a few of them are being used.
Yea but there's so many artists I don't feel like looking through it all

What they're saying is that if you are blatantly mashing a file the entire way through, or for most of it (see Death Piano), you should probably play a file of lower difficulty that you can hit accurately. You are free to play any file you want and mash to your heart's content, it's just not the best way to improve.
Also I don't think we can make things tier-exclusive. People are already complaining about FFR cliques and *segregation* (Veteran perks vs. normal users. That word is horrible, but I can't think of a better one). If we add more hard files, they will either be public, or a token. No "Tier 0 Only" category or anything.

Best strat: enjoy the game, play what you feel like when you feel like it. Don't think about what you are doing or why, enjoy the gameplay, the artistry behind the stepfile, and enjoy the music.
When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

Because frankly the US is too small in relativity to the rest of the players on this site to start loading SM inspired dumpfiles into the game! As songs get harder and more numerous it creates harder requirements for token/skill tokens and you'll never hear the end of it from those " elite" minded FFR players out there! This is why you guys should have an exclusive add on! So you guys can challenge yourselves and other players of your skill level without flooding the ranks with stepfiles noone is going to enjoy playing unless they are d7 plus the harder they get the more illinspired they tend to be..

Hmm, guess it makes sense. But then again why make them exclusive if all you have to do is not play that file if you don't like it ? (Like any other files you havent reached the skill level for yet)
He's talking about it clogging the ranks and making the FC 99% skill token harder. I think.

This is what I propose: talk to the staff about creating new more difficult songs/files. Have them then collaborate with stepfile artists to create quality steps for D7 players. When a bulk of them come in have the staff create an unlockable d7 genre ingame! This way elitests won't whine about the flooding of difficult files and you guys can have your fun! And the genre will be unlockable as you gain d7 status
Also, I assume these D7 stepfiles would be too difficult for anyone but, this is what you are asking for pretty much. If that is the case there isn't really a point to those in a lower division playing them as you guys will have enough trouble with them lol
And Andy, not exclusively, no.
