I finally caved and downloaded Stepmania along with a ton of song packs :P I lost my entire library a long time ago so I have to start from scratch, but I think I'm fine with that. So far I really like the new Stepmania 5. The UI is slick and really nice to look at.

I want to get into playing online possibly too but I have no idea how that would work out since I'm not very good and everyone that plays is probably leaps and bounds above my skill level. We'll see I suppose.

First round is over and so is my first tournament it seems XD Spent all night up until the cutoff working on that damn song and could not even get close to my previous score. I kept messing up random crap that's really easy and getting averages out of nowhere on jumps and things. I think transitioning to looking at a different location has messed with my PA pretty badly though it has definitely made reading things a LOT easier. I just need some practice I suppose to get back to where I was.

Next tournament hopefully I'll last longer. I'll probably still play the songs just for the hell of it though :P

I've felt this for a while but just finally decided to really force myself back into old habits today. Since I restarted after my three year hiatus I think I've changed where I look when playing. Currently I tend to stare directly at where the notes are going (the outlines), which doesn't give much time to react. I've been trying for a bit today to stare at where the "PERFECT" etc. shows up, which made certain patterns MUCH easier to read but my accuracy is shit. I'm pretty sure that's what I used to do way back when, but it's going to take some adjusting since my eyes tend to wander back up to the arrow outlines unless I really concentrate on where to look.

I'm a little curious as to where the higher level players tend to look when playing...Maybe I'll make a thread or something.

Apparently playing a song in moderation is a good thing XD I guess I just got so frustrated that I can't do better that I was whoring out Touch Me waaaaaaaaay too much. I've started taking regular break every 10 or so plays to play three or so other songs just to break up the monotony and it seems to help quite a bit. I'm still doing horrible, mind you, but not nearly as bad as I was getting the other night.

So much for improving my score. I feel like I'm getting worse and worse...I keep making stupid mistakes and getting random goods on stupidly easy crap. I think I'm going to take a break for a day and come back to it on Saturday. Hopefully then I'll do better.

At the very least I'm consistent in my horribleness. I keep getting around the same amount of goods every time with random boos and averages thrown in. I'm not really sure what to do to improve since I don't seem to be getting anywhere just grinding the song. It doesn't help that I REALLY don't like this song. It feels way too slow, which is part of what keeps messing me up.
