Fuck this shit Posted on: May 25, 2012, at 04:20:19am Give me one good reason to stay here. It just seems like my existence here is making the site/community worse. I just seem to be a nuisance to everyone anyways. Unless, I'm convinced otherwise, I'm leaving the community and probably the game as well since I mostly play it for the community aspect. Tbh, if I'm such a bother to people, maybe I should just quit life while I'm at it because, why bother? gg ffr, it's been fun EDIT: I'll admit I over-reacted a bit last night with this RT. Anyways, I've decided I'll be taking a break instead. I just don't know what I should do or say anymore; I just need a little time for myself so I can think about that. I'll be on Skype if you need me, although I leave myself appearing online a lot even when I'm away from the computer, so please forgive me if it takes me awhile to get back to you Anyways, thanks guys for convincing me not to quit; I feel like I have my place in this community, and I'm not ready to let that go. |

Seems like one group of people are just trying to pick a bone at you. However, I don't think people truly think you're being some sort of disgrace. To really believe in that is completely untrue. You just need to put on a personalized "filter" to filter out the crap you don't need, while keeping in all the good stuff that comes with this site. From the past, I think you know that this site DOES foster a lot of interesting experiences that you cannot simply forget about.
Try to keep in touch with the good aspects of the site and filter out the bad crap that has only really appeared recently. You're just having a bad day, and I know you know that the sum of your good experiences have far outweighed whatever happened within the past few weeks. That's my one reason why you should stay. You just have to put your mindset into the bigger picture and see that it's not worth leaving for what's really just a minor setback.

Remember that it's one part of the ENTIRE community you're getting attacked by. Like what bmah said, just look at the bigger picture. Just because a small portion of the entire community doesn't like you doesn't really mean you're making the community worse, lol.

I don't really know you at all and I haven't talked to you on the site either, but from what I've seen, you seem like a really awesome person. Especailly from how you're trying to help improve the community, like the random coding or the recent long very well thought posts in the TB thread and trying to help clean up the chat.
It'd suck to see a member that's so involved in the community leave because a small handful of people don't seem to like you very much. The only people I could think of that think you're a "nuisance" or those that started all that crap you're trying to clean up anyway, so if you leave, you're letting those d-bags win.
Then again, it's all your choice but I know that a ton of people on the site (including me) would be sad to see you go.

As far as i've seen, ever since you met you've been a positive person, yea you have serious moments but it's not like you were being overly aggresive, just assertive. I think a lot of people would be sad to see you go, and i'm one of those people. Ever though we don't talk as much as i'd like, you've become one of my true best friends on this site and maybe other people feel the same way. But I think part of the reason you might be feeling this way is because the site is flooding with trolls and elitists and other people making this site a negative place. And that's not necessarily your fault. But remember, there's people like me, bmah, Eze, EN, Jake, Kana, Richy, Pop, and others who really enjoy your company. Dont go ^_^

Ben, I'd never thought I would hear you get to this breaking point. I'm going to have to agree with everyone that mentioned that: just because a small portion may dislike you, it doesn't mean the whole community does. Just think of the people that appreciate your existence here. You've been a very good person to me from all of the times we've talked, albeit small, but you're a really good person. You helped the website a bit with coding and you've been a good person to everyone you've talked to. Don't give this all up just because of people that don't like you. I actually saw this coming down the road a few days ago, and I knew what this random thought would be about when I saw you posted one... Dude, it's true that people are hammering you. At least some of them. It's been personnal attacks at most occasions. Let's just sit back and look at it as a whole... You know your intentions with the community. You know that you don't want to be an asshole to anyone, even to the people who want to make your life miserable on here. You know about how much you invest yourself on here and what you wanna try to get out from it. Now, look at that big picture, considering what you're aspiring to bro. Do you honestly, really think you deserve all of this? That these few people are all right about you, whatever they might be hating for? You might not be a perfect user. No one on here is at some point. We're humans you know? I'm not here to call flaws of yours, I'm not the best judge of that and to be honest, I didn't find any. You should take that hating with humility and if you think there is room for improvement, go at it man! If you end up figuring out that all the reasons people feel disdain toward you for are just retarded ones, then put them aside. It's not worth it.
Also, if it's too much for you to handle, which is completely human to feel like, maybe just drop it on the involvment thing. Some people can handle the BS and be frigid to it, and some eventually get sick of the shit. Think of Kayla. She quit moderation because she couldn't take it anymore and it's totally fine. Leaving a place you love like this... Is a bit too much of a solution bro. You like most of this place, and most of the community loves you man.

And if you want a bro advice, maybe learn to deal with the criticism/trolling/flaming/hating from a distance. Don't snob the people who dislike what you're being and what you're doing on here, just keep an ear open, but don't let it fuck you all up bro. And really, some of them are making it worse than it is. You can easily tell their attitude and comments are mostly filled of frustration caused by various things. So really, don't take it super personnally. You're not worth that crap. Just be yourself, stay realist and humble toward yourself and toward the community as well. Figure what you wanna be on it, figure what's behind the criticism and the praise, and just go for it. You're a big part of this community if you ask me. Everyone knows the Benguin and he has his role. Up to you regarding what you do with all of this now.

Ben, I can't say we have talked to much but I can say you have made this game interesting for me again.. you made me work during some tourneys and even tho I may have been jelouse of you from time to time I have always appreciated you and now even more for what you've done for the community.. I can't say much on topic because I have no clue on what's going on but I can say I would be sad to see you go. I'm looking for a rival and someone who's a lil better then me to motivate me and if you decide to stay maybe keep that in mind. But remember this is ffr and a lot of the people on this site are younger and immature try to take what people say with a grain of salt.. keep your head up for every one person who's hating on you there are many that feelyou are a good person and care about you..

Mad cuz bad drama aside, I still appreciate you. You've got a good sense of humor (if you ever take offense to us blaming random misses on you, let us know!), even worked your way up to a local mod position, and you're really cranking out these profiles like you said you would.
