Video Fiesta Part 2 - Marble Zone
Posted on: November 29, 2008, at 11:26:26am   [7 comments]

Did I say soon? I meant whenever I felt like it.

First Stepmania vid from the new place. Yay! I chose this because I wanted to do at least one song with hands/quads. Index. (Yeah, that's right. He's hitting multiple keys with one finger. WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?!?!) It's not really that impossible to do, but you never see indexers do this kind of stuff. So I figure I'm filling a gap in the market. It's by no means a hard song, but it's crammed with hands so I figured it's the perfect song for my intro into the world of spread-only songs. AAA'd it, too.

I'm coming for you, spreaders. I'm coming.

Video Fiesta Part 1 - BB Revenge

So, my first new fuh-fur vid... could be worse.

I chose this as my opening song for a couple of reasons. Firstly, for a FMO that used to be a FGO, BB Revenge is relatively easy, and yet I can't recall FCing it before now. Secondly, some time ago, I remember someone making thread about FCing Revenge index (with, like 70 goods or something) and everyone was all OMG about it for some reason. Thirdly, it's a fun song.

Also, this was a test to see if my new cam setup (my laptop on a box on a chair) worked and could sustain a decent framerate for the duration of a song. It looks like things'll work out fine.

This is just the beginning! There will be more chimneys! MORE!!!

...uh, er, something. Next vid soon!

Music for 18 Musicians is so awesome; you don't even know. It's like therapy for your brain.

Still working on fiesta cam issues. It's mostly problems with lighting and finding a good setup. I might just have to resort to using my POS no-battery-life-whatsoever forty-dollar ebay camcorder. God help us.

P.S. Anyone who can accurately step Piano Phase WITH CORRECT ATTENTION TO PHASING SPEED-UPS AND SLOW-DOWNS is a god among men. I would love to see that in my lifetime, but there's no way it's ever gonna happen. Pity.

Fiesta on Hold...

...but not forgotten.

Cam problems. Trying to find a workaround. More later.

The idea was to manually remove keys like 7/9/5/3/1 or 7/9/1/2/3 depending on what feels ideal. I just remember subin playing index mostly with 2/4/6/8 and doing really well, but I think he eventually integrated one hand play into it for jumpstream etc. Technically the only player who mostly used index to reach D7 that comes in mind. Jsayin' there's potential.

Have you tried 2468 keys on numpad for index ?

I remember back in the day you won funniest poster for one of the forum awards and that, aside from you being one of the better index players, is how I remembered who you were lol. Good to see you back bro.

Hello fellow of my past. How would you care to converse and update each other on the lives of now? I really miss talking to some of my older pals and I was thinking about catching up with you if you happen to mosey by FFR anytime soon.

I know all too well. School for me starts a week from tomorrow and I really do not care to go in the least. I was able to make a rather strong core group of friends before I started school though, that will really help me make it along.
