Your Opinion Needed

We (the staff) think that the header for the site is a little bulky. We want to trim it down a bit so that it does not take up as much vertical space. Does everyone agree with us? Against it? Thoughts? Suggestions? Lets hear them all!

I like it how it is, but if you really wish to change it then go for it. May I suggest a comparison or a poll? Have people choose which they like best, the old header or the new one you want to put. Have a picture of them side by side and let them vote!

Yes. Trim away! Remove that big blue block that has the FFR logo in it, along with the top bar that has the words FFR.com in it, and make something new, sleeker and thinner.

Well, in my opinion.. you could sum it up just a bit.
But I like it the way it is!
But what I don’t like is when you’re playing FFR, and doing multiplayer, you have to scroll ( or for my computer) between the chat and song.

Looks fine to me… it doesn’t really affect anything because when I’m playing I only see from my health bar to the top of perfect/good/boo etc.

I think that your guys idea is good. The heading needs a little trim, but i dont think thatt players really noticed how big it is. I agree that you should decrease the size of the header

I’m all for it.
What I suggest you do is eliminate the date/time header at the very top of the page. Most of us have the time on the toolbar (for Windows users)… and … I’ve never had a Mac (if Macs support this), but I’m sure people who have Macs have a clock somewhere. Lol. Also, I think the link on the left that say “Click here to play FFR” can be eliminated; considering the same link is already on the bar below it (i.e. the “Home: FFR the game: Psychopath: …, etc., etc.).
I think it would be more aesthetically appealing to make the Flash Flash Revolution bar (the one with the little dancing man to the left) slimmer and take up the entire bar length-wise.
Perhaps a new color scheme would be a good change. But I know that’s not what the staff is asking for.
I’m not a programmer or into computer design, but if the staff is really interested in what my design is for the homepage, I’ll draw it out on paper and send a link to who-so-ever is interested’s email. Just send me a reply/message and let me know. ^^

yeah it would be nice to have a bit more room this site is very jammed but its layed out fairly well consitering… but i definitly think taking a poll (between a couple new ideas) would be a good way to please everyone as long as everything still fit.. i remeber recently the game screen was a bit off but yeah good work keepin this place up and runnin!

Take off the top rectangle with the logo and name in it, take off the top line that also contains the date, and create a thinner graphic that has the site name and includes the date on the side. There’s no need for two titles, after all.

i agree…i dont like the fact you have to scroll down on multiplayer…maybe a trim will help a bit? or an option in FFR multiplayer to close the screens about how you did (not sure what to call them…) so you can see the screen box?
but yes…trim away! i dont think you need a ‘click here to play FFR‘ button almost right on top of the ‘FFR the game’ button…

But some of us (e.g. myself) don’t have computer that have that resolution. I know… My computer is more 10+ years old. Lol.
Would it be plausible to put the chat box on the right side of the screen (i.e. next to the gaming window), and make the little boxes below each person’s name in MP smaller to fit? (the ones that have the ‘M’-looking thing that changes colors when you select things/have the game loaded..thing).
I know.
I’m so good with technical jargon.
But uhm.. if that doesn’t make sense, I can draw it out XD; Art is like.. the only thing I’m good at

That header is so ghetto. I remember a long time ago when you switched it and it was orange and silver and blue and it was all curvy lines and such. That was pretty. Make the header smaller, maybe have it stretch across the whole page and have “FlashFlashRevolution.com” centered on the page.

What I recommend: Ditto on all previous comments. Everything except the FFR logo could practically go without harm to anything else. Everything can just be shoved onto the side of the screen (or already there). Just make the font bigger on the side, move the ads aside keep the familiar logo, and delete everything else off the top of the site. Not too harsh, is it?

Eh, I don’t dare try to change the resolution of my computer. x_x! I already have enough trouble as it is tweaking around and getting rid/blocking garbage.

You should hold a designing contest for the new banner of FFR. I think I could go either way, it looks fine the way it is now, but if you got a new one that would be kick ass.

I think that taking away the click here to play FFR button should be taken away if anything. You should also get rid of everthing above it, we already know what site we’re on. Also, get rid of all that blank space thats under everthing. We don’t need to see that many hot forum threads

In my opinion, it isn’t quite necessary. Although it would possibly look better, I think you should direct your work in to new songs and even a new Style of music within the Game. To me, this is a game and all I care about is how the game performs. I couldn’t care less how it looks. As long as it performs without malfunctions etc.

I reckon that you need to get rid of that block of ads and move it down to the bottom, and put the click to play here and current verison title on the side just above ‘Who’s On FFR’ and maybe trim the top a little.

I cannot log out…the 1st time I logged in was yesterday, and when I was leaving the computer, I logged out. The next day, I went to this website, and the problem is: there’s no place to put my name and my password….. it’s because I’m still logged in!!!!!!

I think this would be a perfect time to bring back the spontanious contests and this can be the 1st of the new contests (although not that spontanious). I think you should wiat for about 20 people to send in header ideas, then take the 5-10 of the ones that you think are the best and have us vote on it! its not really the “style” of the other ones but it would be cool to help more then just saying “yes” or “no”….

Ok, how about a site like say just the plain old flashflashrevolution.com has the new slimmer sleeker thinner less informational header or whatever header you guys want as a new version, and then have a seperate site like flashflashrevolution.com/old could have the old original FFR setup with the old header and like everything else the same, like the layout, but the games would always be the same on both sites. I believe this would make the people who want a new header happier that they got a new header and make the people (such as me) who like the old header to remain the same.
What do you think?
all you pretty much have to do (i think) is redirect the original page to flashflashrevolutionn.com to the /old url and create a new header and use that as the normal main page.

Change is needed
The DDR Extreme Logo uses criss-crossing letter. The pic in the logo could be used like that to make a smaller logo. A Smaller one is nessesary, but if it were smaller, please put it in the center, or on the right. That would look better.

It could probably be about 100 pixels high. Just a new, snazzmatazzed way to show the logo on the left, and the cobaltflux banner to the right. You’ve got lots and lots of blue space right now, so the least you could do is get rid of that.
